I filled my gas tank yesterday and drove my Nissan Versa 1.6 from 2021 for 70 miles, which consumed one-third of the tank. This is an unusual occurrence for me. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation with their vehicle after purchasing fuel at this particular Costco location?

Long lines are normal here because gas is more reasonably priced. We had some trouble with the pump. Despite using the store card and payment cards correctly, it took me three tries before the reader was able to process my transaction. There was no attendant to ask for help. This has never happened before.

They still don’t have the cones out front where the gas lines are. So we had some idiot who is trying to cut into another Lane and because he was blocking my lane, some guy with a big trailer got in front and a bunch of us had to wait. I’ve asked them many times to put cones up and they are refusing to do so because they don’t care about their customers.

The lines are crazy aggressive but other than that I recommend.

Arrowhead location, is always twenty to forty cents cheaper than in Surprise. So they get my business every time i’m in the area. I don’t like that I’m giving another city my everyday money but. Price does matter.

This Sam’s club is very unprofessional and the workers there are very rude and disrespectful my elderly father who is retired purchased a refrigerator and when he received it it was a completely different product inside the box damaged and all. Later that same day he went back with the product to return it not for the money back but to REPURCHASE THE SAME PRODUCT! The gentleman Mike who was the manager on duty refused to help my father sending him back and forth with there customer service. Then after he waited for Mike to return and finish talking to him one of the ladies stated Mike had gone home for the day leaving my father very frustrated. He decided to return the following day with my sister for help and a lady behind the customer service desk started laughing at my dad when he asked to speak with a manager and completely ignore him. Finally a lady who was a manager can not remember the name I believe it started with a C spoke to my dad to reach out to the manufacturer company as it was received directly from them and they can’t do anything on there end. So we spoke with the manufacturer and they stated Sam’s club would have to provide the refund it’s just been a back and forth on going frustrating situation that could have easily been taken care of. They are all disgusting disrespectful people who treat elderly people very poorly.

⛽️ The NEW gas station is OPEN!!! ⛽️ The Costco gas station has moved! The old location is completely closed off. You can no longer enter the gas station OR the Costco parking lot off of Oak unless you go to the back of the warehouse. You can access the new location from 44th St OR the Costco parking lot. The new location is awesome! – 30 gas pumps ⛽️ – LED sign showing (un)available pumps – Two entrances cut down on traffic coming in We went mid-day on a Friday and only waited a few minutes for a pump, and there was NO line of traffic just to get in line. The signs showing available pumps are super helpful! Great price!!! $4.35 regular, $4.79 premium on Friday, April 28th

Costco gas stations are always cleaner, more convenient, and competitively priced when compared to nearby stations and competitors. While rare for me, the outdoor attendants have always been helpful when needed. I appreciate that I can still fill up one time when my membership is up for renewal – a simple yet helpful way to put the customer first. If there is a Costco nearby, that’s where I’m filling up.

The facility features modern equipment, though the payment processing and pump speeds may feel outdated compared to other retailers. Improving signage clarity and optimizing the flow of the fueling lanes would significantly enhance the overall customer experience.

Seems the only pump that is conned off is one of the diesel pumps. They repainted maybe 8 months ago and never put it back the “diesel” signs above the 2 sets of pumps. They need to do a much better job of marking the fact only the one end is diesel to keep the people that need gas to go to the other lanes. Either upgrade another couple pumps to pump both or make it so people needing gas don’t automatically go to those pumps. Do better Sam’s Club.

When may I ask is Sam’s going to join the new century? The gas stations pumps are new but so slow and try to get your receipt quickly is out of the question. They don’t have the “tap your card” payment option. So out of date. Inside is out of control no assigned lines to check out, everyone just goes up and cuts in front of you. No wonder we appreciate and like Costco better.

Myself and my husband has been at this truck stop over the course of the weekend, and we both have been back-and-forth inside the store. Quite a bit. Take showers buying food,. Ect, but I noticed every time I come in or go out, I never see the security guard by the name of patrick out doing rounds, where the trucks are the reason that I noticed it is because I saw someone walking around that made me feel a little uncomfortable, and I mentioned it to 1 of the personnel inside the store, and they said that he’s supposed to walk around and make rounds, but I was also informed that he does, not, do it.he normally stays inside, and, talk to the ladies or in the tv room.watching tv. When I was talking to him, he was very short and not very polite. So I said less to him, because I knew I wasn’t getting anywhere. So when I went inside the store around 830pm I saw tyrone a different security guard walking around, and another time I saw him riding the chart, something I never saw from the other guy patrick.Tyrone was very polite and pleasant and did reassure me that he would be making more rounds throughout the night.

Very unprofessional and unfriendly!!! I was banned from parking overnight in an empty car parking, but when I moved to the truck parking and wanted to buy a reserve spot (there were 10 free spots according to the Pilot application), I was denied….because I don’t have a diesel truck! I was on a 36 ft Freightliner motorhome!!! By the way, this is my job (driveway), it’s a commercial trip, not a vacation. I usually fuel up in the morning but I wouldn’t want to leave a dollar at this location.

Great truck stop. Staff is awesome. Just be careful, when driving in. The road is very narrow and trucks are always parked along side making it a bit too close for comfort to drive in. I love that they have a Dennys inside. Showers are over all clean.

Came here for a shower. Had to wait hours, but that didn’t bother me. What does bother me is being verbally accosted by a security guard here when he joked racing me to the showers while I use a cane. I walk with a cane because I’ve had my shoulder, hip, tibia, wrist, and forearm shattered. Half those injuries are from being assaulted in Lake Havasu, Az. When I made the comment “haha funny” to his facsist comment, he responded with “oh you’re one of those” and slipped away. This world is upside down when a security guard, who is meant to maintain the peace, jokes about disability. I won’t be returning to this truck stop or any other with the name Flying J or Pilot.

This is the only pilot that I’ve been to that has showers for CDL drivers only. They say it’s a policy for the store and that it’s a new thing, but when I called different pilot flying j gas stations. They informed me that showers were public. As somebody who is traveling from another state through Arizona, being able to shower at a gas station is convenient. Especially when the customer has no issue paying for the showers. This is a huge disadvantage to the store and to customers. If you’re traveling and you’re not driving CDL don’t stop here to shower, or for amenities. It’d be understandable if CDLs had a discount or a cheaper price for showers and amenities. But to not allow the public is flat out wrong, it’s the gas stations responsibility to manage the showers and times for people to use them. If CDL drivers are not having showers accessible, it’s their responsibility to make some accessible to CDLs at all time. But to restrict shower access from the public entirely, especially when looked up on Google, your showers are registered as public is misleading and dishonest of a business. Hopefully you guys can update your Google, or make it clear, showers are not for the public.

The employees here are the worst and run off a scam They have a sign that they run to that says: ” say the correct pump number” because apparently they have a issue with taking your money and giving someone else your gas They took my cash and gave my gas to another customer and did not refund me or give me what I paid for. Instead they gaslit me and said I said the wrong pump number but if you have a sign that says you will take peoples cash and not give them gas because you fail to hear and understand pump 14 and mistake it for 4 then blame the customer, they are scammers. They didn’t bother to stop giving someone else my gas and issue back my money or anything The better business bureau ATTN: BBB should investigate this gas station

On 10/6/25 at around 9:50pm a lady with a braid who spoke only Spanish kept harassing us over a $1.50 cup. She came up to us abruptly stating how her cups are expensive and to not waste them and that she will charge us for the thrown out cup. Mind you we threw the cup away because it was filthy. After she berated us, we apologized for throwing the cup away and let her know that we didn’t know that would be such an inconvenience for them. Also their slushies were goopy. And the whole time, my 10 year old niece was attempting to fill her NEW cup with soda. The lady kept staring her and us down as if we were going to walk out. She came the second time to tell us that for our next visit to just use the styrofoam cup, which was fine, as we totally understood that they were cheaper, but as she walked away, she never took her eyes off of us, making us feel extremely uncomfortable, threatened, and belittled. As my niece finished filling up her soda WHICH was watered down. She came up to us the THIRD time accusing us of leaving two styrofoam cups on the soda machine. Even though they were already there before we arrived. Which she should have known since she loves to stare and be all in our personal business. This interaction has left us feeling judged, undermined, deeply frustrated and disgusted. This is not a bot account I am the Aunt.

Do not use your card at the pump. They put a hold on my account for $175. It has been over a week since April 5th and the money has not been returned to my account. My bank has gotten involved to help me recover those funds which have not been placed back to the account.

This has station is located at a very busy intersection of town, so getting in and out can present driving issues… Be that as it may, it’s located next to a car wash so you can wash your vehicle and fill up… saving time. It also has the cheapest prices in town for gasoline which offset the driving issues.. plus it has a convienance store in case you need to purchase something quickly. If we need to fill up and are in the vicenity, we definitely keep that location in mind.

Consistently closed at night during times it says they are open online. Workers in store. Door just locked for odd reasons at odd hours

Oh, this Arco station pisses me off. I come here because it’s never busy and you don’t have to wait to get gas. What upsets me is that they refuse to put receipt paper in the gas pump machines. I have to go in every time to get a receipt. I’ve asked the manager over and over to put paper in the machines and why she never puts paper in the machines. she just ignores me. She’s a lousy manager. Shes lazy and doesn’t want to do it. She needs to be fired . She hates the customers. shes always mean and has a ugly face every time you talk to her. Quite if your that miserable. Geez

Not particularly safe. Those without street sense might want to avoid. Folks who hang out there not unpleasant or aggressive and open drug use constant. Gas is generally cheap, store staff are helpful. No extra security. If poverty, homeless or the fentanyl epidemic would startle you, pay a little more for gas at QT or circle k in another location.

Paying at the pump using a debit or credit card is convenient, but if the pump is out of receipt paper, you have to go inside to request a receipt. Of course at this AM/PM they have fountain drinks for 79¢ any size, so sometimes it’s not bad walking in to get a receipt unless you are really in a hurry.

I stopped by to put air in my tires, it was during rush hour and the place was packed, I didn’t go inside and just wanted out of there as fast as I could. It appears to be a well used station is on one of the heavier traveled main roads, great location. I will have to return another day and go inside.

Located near the Phoenix rental car return, this Shell station provides a convenient stop for travelers. However, the facility is noted for extreme price disparities compared to neighboring stations, often resulting in significantly higher costs per gallon.

Potential visitors should exercise caution regarding predatory pricing and inconsistent digital updates. To ensure a better experience, it is advisable to fuel up elsewhere before returning a vehicle to the airport.

Price gouging! Found out from speaking to another patron that this place charges at least $1.00 more per gallon than any neighboring gas station. Their credit card machines conveniently do not work and you have to prepay your gas which means you have to guess how much you will be spending.

This gas station definitely price gouges because they’re near the Phoenix re tap car return – buyer beware. At the time I’m writing this, they were about $2.00 per gallon over the average in the area. Plan ahead and avoid this scam

UPDATE: please look carefully at the AI generated Shell “owner” responses. They are using a bot to try to appear concerned, but after all this time of negative reviews, they clearly care not. These responses are for show. I am all about capitalism and the law of supply and demand, but when a gas station takes this much advantage of being the only gas station near the airport, they deserve to be out of business. Their prices are about two dollars higher than the average in Phoenix. I strongly encourage anyone returning a rental car to fuel up anywhere else besides this place and then just top your tank off with a buck or two before you drop your car off. I also encourage you to not go inside and buy anything while you were there. Bring your snacks with you. Perhaps that would encourage the owner to understand that being greedy and taking advantage of folks does not pay.

5.99 per gallon is such a rip-off. DON’T GET SCAMMED. STAY AWAY. I checked Google and it showed gas was around $3. When I got there, I didn’t look closely at the price and just started pumping. I only realized how ridiculous it was when I was halfway done. Everywhere else is about $3 per gallon, but this place was $5.99. I ended up paying over $70, almost double what I would have paid elsewhere. This is the kind of place you stop at on the way to return your rental car to the airport. You see how outrageous the price is, but it’s too late to drive somewhere else to pump gas, so you basically have no choice but to get ripped off. They also purposely don’t update their gas prices correctly on Google, which makes the whole thing even more scammy.

Price gouging. Next to the rental car center = $6/gallons. Drive one more mile, and it’s $3.50/gallons. I have traveled all over and have never seen this predatory practice before anywhere in the United States.

**DON’T FILL UP HERE** PRICE GOUGING. Selling for $6.89/gal today, literally $4.35/gal not even a quarter mile up the road at Circle K. Top off there (or LITERALLY any other gas station), gauge is still full when you return your rental car.

Frequently asked questions about gas stations in Phoenix

What are the different types of gas stations and what are their benefits?

Gas stations are retail outlets that provide fuel for vehicles and various convenient goods and services. These facilities typically offer different types of fuel, such as regular, premium, and diesel, along with amenities like convenience stores, restrooms, and air pumps. They serve as essential hubs for motorists to maintain their vehicles and purchase travel necessities.

How do gas station prices vary?

Gas station prices fluctuate based on several economic and regional factors. In Phoenix, prices are influenced by global oil markets, local supply and demand, and taxes. You may notice slight differences in pricing between stations depending on their location and the specific fuel grade selected.

How do I choose the best gas station?

Choosing a gas station depends on your specific needs, such as proximity to your route, fuel types offered, and available amenities. Many drivers look for stations that provide high-quality fuel, safety features, and convenient store options. It is often helpful to check for locations that offer loyalty rewards or specific services like car washes.

How often do gas stations refill their fuel tanks?

Gas stations refill their underground and above-ground storage tanks as needed to ensure a steady supply for customers. The frequency of these refills depends on the station's daily volume of sales and the capacity of their storage systems. Most stations have systems in place to monitor fuel levels and schedule deliveries before supplies run low.

Are gas station loyalty cards worth it?

Gas station loyalty cards can be worth it if you frequently visit the same locations and want to accumulate rewards or discounts. These programs often offer points for every gallon purchased, which can be redeemed for fuel savings, free items, or other perks. The value of the card depends on how often you utilize the associated services and fuel products.
