Whitney & Murphy is probably the best business I have ever encountered in my entire life! When my son passed they handled everything from start to finish with grace, kindness, and impeccably. They took our appointment at a moment’s notice after I changed my mind about the initial funeral home we had selected. They were thorough, communicative, prompt, caring every step of the way. My son’s service was absolutely beautiful. Even after the service, they checked on us, mailed the death certificates, and text us on his birthday. I honestly wish there was room to write more as this does not do them justice for all they did for us in our difficult time. Thank you Whitney & Murphy for all you did! You are all so amazing.

During my need for helping me find a good catholic mortuary, I found Whitney and Murphy to be very helpful and caring to me and my family I could never haved asked for a better place to have my loved one taken care of. Smart Cremation was one phone call away! Nothing else was needed. Ana walked me through the physical process of picking up my husband, through the necessary paperwork of getting his death certificate prepared and also notifying Social Security. I can’t say enough about the person who took great care in preparing my husband for transport. Because he died in our home, my whole family was present. He detailed what he needed to do and left it to whichever family members wanted to be a part of his final send-off. He also gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. Although my husband and I had preplanned everything with Smart Cremations a couple of years ago, it was a tremendous relief to me knowing these final details of my husband’s life had already been made. However, 4 days later my son-in-law’s mother passed away unexpectedly without any final plans or wishes being made. Again, one phone call to Smart Cremations and everything was handled. It’s comforting for me to know that my passing will also be handled as efficiently and respectfully as was my husband’s, with my children needing to only make that one phone call.

Rebecca was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly throughout our journey in planning our cremation. She was forthcoming with information that included explanations of the company’s process and legal requirements. Rebecca answered our questions without hesitation and allowed us time to process. This is never an easy process at anytime, even with preplanning, however she helped us in a calm matter. Highly recommend….

The information was presented well. To me this is like having insurance…….except you KNOW you will use this insurance. That being said, it is easy for someone to take your money and make promises. The actual benefit will be when I pass and they follow through for those I leave behind. Based on reviews that I saw from people that were left behind and really needed the services, most were happy with their services……some were not. I hope my family is in the majority of those that have no issues when I pass and the company follows through on all their promises. Obviously, I decided to trust they would follow through and help my family navigate through a difficult time.

My mom had signed up for Smart Cremation years ago and it was one of the best choices she had ever made. My mom passed suddenly a few weeks ago and with all the stress and chaos that was happening the one thing that put my mind at ease was speaking to Taeya Havens. I explained I didn’t know what to do and that I was lost. She was able to easily explained all the steps involved with confidence and compassion. Everything was covered from start to finish and that provided so much piece of mind. Taeya truly was so incredibly nice, kind, efficient and caring. She even accepted texts when calls were so hard. I am very happy to give a five star review for The National Cremation Society the respect and care they gave my husband Ray was beyond wonderful and when they found out he was a vet they laid the American flag over him. So if you have a loved one that wants to be cremated this is the place. When God calls me home I will be going there.

My sister and I arranged for our mother to be brought here at her request. Our mom brought our other two sisters and our father here. Sarah handled our arrangements and she made this process so easy. Sarah was very comforting and respectful. Her personality was like our mom hand picked her! She was great and affixed our mother’s information on the bottom of her urn. It is a nice thing to have when we have three others. We felt very much cared for and like someone was looking out for us. Thank you for being so compassionate.

My Grandma purchased a cremation policy way back in 1989. I figured it was either defunct or a scam. Thankfully, it was neither. Unfortunately, I didnt get the name of the lady that helped me, but she, and others in the office were compassionate, welcoming and helpful. During a time of grieving, the support felt by Amber who assisted with all our arrangements was truly remarkable. It was heartwarming to meet Amber and her desire to learn about my father and enjoy my stories was priceless. From the moment, my father was picked up at the house by Hansen Mortuary we felt the support and love needed during this difficult time of loss. Hansen went above and beyond in all aspects of care. From the first call when my father was on hospice and given 24 hours I reached out quite late 8:30PM and received a call back within 5 minutes. To the pickup the staff were very respectful and courteous, to our meeting with Alexia. This place I feel truly cares Alexia explained every detail reached out to see if we were doing o.k. and provided so much information. I also appreciated the fact that they do the paperwork to provide the death certificates. Would 100 percent recommend.

We all know we’ll lose a loved one at some point in time and sadly that time came for us on December first two thousand twenty three. With many health issues at hand we knew we’d be losing my husband sooner than we would ever want to. That being said we prepaid both our funerals so our daughter would not need to worry about it. I will forever count my blessings for The Good Lord gifting me in allowing me over fifty two years of sharing life’s journey ( and 46 years as our daughter’s life) with such an amazing human being. In spite of knowing we might not have much time no one is ever prepared for that final farewell. We preselected Hansens Mortuary long ago based on their good reputation and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made. From the very beginning everyone we delt with at Hansens treated us with respect and kindness for our feelings and have shown thoughtfulness and sincere concern that did not stop since my husband’s cremation. Their entire staff has been a blessing to our family and we can never thank them enough for everything from their professionalism to their sincerity. We highly recommend Hansens Mortuary. I would like to give a huge thank you to Sonia and all of the Samaritan staff. I lost my son on 2/25/26 and was very emotional, filled with grief and just inconsolable. Sonia gave me and my husband all the love, compassion and guidance we needed throughout the whole process. This is difficult for everyone who walks through those doors but rest assured knowing that they got you! I am so grateful to have met them.

My brother passed away suddenly and I was in need of a funeral home. I liked Samaritan because they were up front with me with no nonsense and no hidden charges. They were kind and respectful. At one point they had made a mistake on paperwork, when pointed out they were quick to correct it. I highly recommend Samaritan funeral services.

Communication was horrible. After attempting to contact the first 3 days after death, we finally had a discussion. The next day, someone from a government service called and said the funeral home reported there was no success in reaching family & were seeking assistance in finding next of kin. HUH??!! I had to continually call to get updates. When I would ask what was needed, the director told me she was waiting on my email responses, which were sent several days prior. Don’t appreciate being gaslit. The ball was always in their court and they kept dropping the ball. Handling this from out of state was hard enough, but having incompetent people make it feel like it is your fault was the worst feeling going through all of this. I am VERY seasoned in making funeral arrangements & this was by far the absolute worst experience I have ever had. I do not recommend this place. They are really good at sending you emails about what YOU are supposed to do, but horrible about responding to anything you have done. Save yourself the heartache. We finally received the remains a month later.

I met the entire staff and I just wanted to say Venitria is very professional and kind. You can tell she takes her role as a funeral director and manager seriously. Sonia is a people person and she’s very good with arranging services for families. Alyana is the admin and she answered all the countless questions I had, and guided me through the process. They have a wonderful staff here, and their direct cremation services are affordable compared to other funeral homes I’ve looked into.

My grandma was buried here on January 18 2023, and fast forward 11 months she STILL doesn’t have the 2023 scroll and the broken vase has never been fixed. In October they admitted they lost the work order and promised to expedite it. To this day we still don’t have a scroll or a vase, and you’re not allowed to leave your own vase or they’ll remove it. And what were we told? It’s “first come first serve” … and I guess if they want to string you along, they just have to “lose” the work order. Don’t get me started on the conditions of the grounds, it looks terrible! This company is reprehensible, how dare you tell people they can’t honor their family because YOU dropped the ball. How dare you treat grieving family this way! You should absolutely be ashamed of yourselves! Also, I don’t want your platitudes so don’t bother responding to this message unless it’s to let me know that the grave is fixed. I don’t believe for one second that anyone there really cares about the sanctity of putting the deceased to rest.
