Such a wonderful hidden gem! This came recommended by a friend after we were in the area and wanted ice cream after dinner. Staff was very friendly and kindly explained the menu to us. They have 12 ice cream flavors, and rotate the bottom 4 flavors of their list. I got the dough melt with Matcha Ice cream…it was heavenly. Ambiance was nice, plenty of seating and perfect way to end our Friday Date Night. Highly recommend, will be back!

Super cute location! They’re open until 1am!!! Cashier was super patient with us, it was our first time, he let us sample a few different ice cream flavors. Our favorite was strawberry and chocolate, dulce de leche was great too. We got the ice cream sandwich (dough melt) it was amaziiiiing! Great experience thanks Novel!

Not much parking and parking area is very dark at night. Their specialty here is an ice cream stuffed glazed donut. They had a wide variety of ice cream and many different toppings that you can add. This is a cool dessert spot!

my girlfriend and i are long time fans of novel, were patiently waiting for the location in old town peoria to open up but we do not mind the drive downtown just for them! my usual is a double scoop cone with cookie monster on the bottom and peanut butter wasted on the top (so delicious but the dulce de leche is 🔥) and i know that the cookie monster leaves blue all over your mouth, which i have no problem with, it’s like a medal 🥇, but the cashier last night actually warned me about the coloring leaving stains i was like wowww thank you for telling me no one has ever said that before lol. the staff is always friendly and the owner, Shawn, is very respectable and appreciative of his customers. Great business, i’ll continue to support them becuase of it

That Novel ice cream hit the spot after a long day of car shopping. What an ingenious way of having my two favourite desserts meet : ice cream and donuts blended together. We need this in Canada.

Wow. just wow. They don’t need yet another 5 star review, but they completely, wholeheartedly deserve every one! I was lucky enough to try the pistachio and Vietnamese iced coffee, seasonal flavors. The pistachio was so nutty and creamy smooth Not too sweet. The coffee was truly coffee flavor. It was very sweet but somehow so balanced. I am wowed. Best ice cream I have ever had. No trace of iciness or weird texture. B had the bourbon caramel. It was amazing as well. Same creamy richness and a very strong bourbon flavor in a good way. Too hot for the waffle or donut things, but they looked delicious too. Many of them walking away that we got to see. Go. You will not regret it–or maybe you will! I already want to go back.

I absolutely loved Nami!!! Everything we got was SO good. I tried the iced matcha, the vanilla sprinkle donut, the strawberry matcha donut, and the bacon egg & cheese foldie. Seriously delicious across the board. And the best part? It’s ALL vegan!! They have so many options that it was hard to choose, and everything felt creative and thoughtfully made instead of just “vegan substitutes.” The space itself is super cute and has such a fun vibe. I especially loved all the little art pieces for sale on the walls. It makes the whole place feel really cozy and artsy. Definitely one of our favorite food stops in Phoenix and somewhere I’d absolutely come back to!

Great vegan food with friendly staff. There are lot of options to choose from in the menu. Tried their spring bloom matcha latte and OJ very fresh and unique. Burritos are great and will be a hearty meal. Would love to try the ice creams next time.

Stumbled on this spot just by driving by and spotting a big “VEGAN” sign — immediate U-turn energy 😄 NAMI Bakery is such a hidden gem. It’s a little tucked away (we actually thought we were at the wrong building at first), but once you find it… wow. A fully vegan bakery/café with so many fun, hard-to-find treats. Think vegan donuts, dreamy bagels with herby cream cheeses, cozy coffee + teas, and those nostalgic dessert moments — like McFlurry/Blizzard-style creations and even root beer floats (!!). They’ve got a mix of indulgent and feel-good options, which I love. The space is small but super cute, with a few cozy spots inside and little seating areas front + back. Total neighborhood gem vibes. Service was warm, everything felt thoughtfully made, and my husband and I were already planning our next visit before we left. So good. So worth finding.

Stopped in to try a sampling of their vegan baked goods while in town for work. Tried the French toast doughnut (absolutely perfect and exceptionally delicious, no notes…and I’m a vegan doughnut snob!), a classic chocolate chip cookie, an oatmeal cream pie, and the “hunk” bar (which the woman working the counter likened to the flavors of a Samoa cookie…shortbread, caramel, coconut and chocolate.) Really impressed with what this long-standing vegan establishment in Phoenix creates. Friendly service. Cozy and clean cafe environment. Clearly pride in everything they’re making. Thank you for giving me my vegan treat fix-something that is very hard for me to get close to home in Utah.

Decided to stop their on our way to the airport We wanted to try something different. I am really glad we did. Really? A cool little place the desserts we tried. 4 of them were absolutely fantastic. We had a hot coffee, a nice coffee caramel. Macchiados, and they were absolutely tasty. We agreed we will go back sometime for breakfast. Definitely a good place to stop. And enjoy a coffee and a dessert. Will post when I go have breakfast? The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Nami offers the best vegan donuts and ice cream in Arizona! My son’s favorite item is the chocolate milkshake! Their chocolate cookies dough is absolutely delicious. You can eat it raw or baked. Their custom cakes are also beautiful and delicious. Everything is reasonably priced considering it’s all vegan and sometimes vegan items cost more.

I love this place. If you’re in Phoenix, this is a great boba place to stop at. They serve a variety of drinks: thai teas, sparklers (sparkling water with a flavor and boba), smoothies, coffees, ice cream… The shop is a decent size and connected to a restaurant that serves delicious authentic Vietnamese food. I love that Milk Run carries flavors like jackfruit and durian. They are very creative with their teas and overall it’s a nice little experience. Their boba is always fresh and have a great selection of popping boba. Good little bobba place to try if you’re in the area!

First time at Milk Run at 17th Ave and Camelback Rd. let me tell you it was packed. It is really a great place for Asian teas, Ice creams, smoothies and such. This place was a great date place! I work at a boba shop back in Ireland, so it was interesting too see how they are run in the states. The shop was SO well kept and tidy, staff was very fast and friendly and helpful. Great menu choices. The AZ sunset drink looked beautiful although I wasn’t fond of the flavour, I was still impressed. I got two scoops of ice cream and the scoop sizes are really generous! Amazing atmosphere 🙂

Drove out of the way to get to this particular Boba Shop and it was worth the drive. Wide variety of flavors, teas, and ice cream. My daughter and I were fascinated with the split cup feature where it’s possible to have two drinks in one cup! Pretty darn cool! We had Mango tea with strawberry poppers and Pineapple tea with mint on the other side. It was really tasty and we both enjoyed our choices. If you are this part of town and enjoy a nice Boba drink, check this place out!

Don’t skip this ice cream parlor. It has a cute sitting area in the back well prepared with misters. I tried the sweet cream with strawberries, strawberry sundae, cookie dough mint, and a peanut butter flavor. Every single one was unforgettable. The sweet cream is my favorite. Smooth, simple, firm but creamy and not overly sweet.

Ice cream was pretty good and their cookies were pretty bad. We got a snickerdoodle and vanilla ice cream sandwich along with a chocolate cookie (pretty it was chocolate chocolate chip) with cookies and cream ice cream. The vanilla ice cream smacks! The oreo ice cream did have a generous portion of oreos and also was pretty good. If you like plain ice creams with other items you want added to said plane ice cream, you may like even better than me. I do prefer my cookies and cream with the cookies mixed into the frozen ice cream so they are frozen as well. I am not so much of a fan of the marble slab and cold stones type places that add the toppers to the plain ice cream. Staff was great! Why were the cookies terrible you might ask? Well its because I absolutely hate hard cookies. My perfect cookie is soft and semi gooey in the middle. The poor choice of using hard cookies got this place two stars deducted and guarantees I will never be a customer their again. Ice cream was good but a lot of places around the way that serve better ice cream. If you dig harder cookies check this spot out. I do also want to point out their cookies did have great flavor but terrible texture, you know being like a brick and all.

If I could give zero stars I would. Just drove to pick-up some Goat-Cheese flavored ice-cream that comes out only once a year on July 1st. Get there, server proceeds to tell me they don’t have it available yet because they haven’t gotten rid of other flavors? Huh?? Only have so much space in their fridge?? What’s the point of telling your customers a specific flavor is only available once a year starting on a specific date, and then not have it available on that specific date?? And, what’s the point of listing that specific flavor as currently being available on their website on July 1st … again, if they don’t have it?? Thanks for completely wasting my time. I have nothing else better to do than drive to their store on my lunch break from work for no apparent reason. Not only did they lose out on the 2 quarts of GC I was going to purchase, but the add’l 2 pints of Vanilla & Chocolate I was going to buy. Eh, what’s the big deal … they are making money hand over fist. What’s another $60 in their pockets? Trust me, you’ll lose more than that if you keep up these shenanigans. Good luck!

Everyone should experience the nostalgia of enjoying a sweet treat at the counter of an old fashioned diner and soda fountain. Macaplines has been around since 1929 and hasn’t lost a bit of it’s charm. This would be a perfect date spot or a place to take the kids for a delicious cold treat on a hot summer day. If you’re into vintage or antiques, you can also shop for a wide variety of interesting items. The pies are delightfully delicious as well as loads of dessert choices whether it be an egg cream, ice cream sundae or a old fashioned ice cream soda. I’m particularly fond of the sloppy joes.

Such a neat experience! this is my first time having a classic shake, so this was a fun time lol it was definitely enhanced by the fact that they use machines from the 40s! I think that is the coolest thing. I sat up at the bar and the service was really great. Overall, I really recommend this place. It can get a little crowded, but just be patient and enjoy yourself. also, don’t forget to check out the antique store surrounding the dining room, i found some cool stuff.

One of the most unique diners with the perfect vintage vibe. Here on vacation from Florida visiting my Volkswagen friends & we have come here at least 5 times. The food is delicious. We tried the club , the Rueben, the potato salad and the fries. We also tried the James dean ice cream soda, the cherry phosphate was so good and unique. The papa Tom’s ice cream Sunday was mouth watering. The authentic home made ice cream with the salty sweet flavors. I will think about this place every day til I get to come back here again. They also have two antique shops you can walk through and purchase from inside. By far one of the coolest diners I’ve ever found

Highly recommend. The soda is made on site so you can determine how much sugar is used. I ordered the Casablanca (strawberry ice cream with mango soda). I ordered my soda with half the amount of sugar and the drink was perfection. Another person with me ordered the James Dean (vanilla ice cream with cherry soda). There are so many sodas to choose from; with 99+ flavors, you could literally have 1000’s of custom soda options, no exaggeration. The food was good, not a large food menu, but it was tasty. The business has been operating since 1929 and the atmosphere was incredible. The soda shop sits in the middle of an antique store and it was a lot of fun. I will definitely go there again.

I wanted to try a new place for a sweet treat and found this place on Google, decided to give it a try. It’s a cute little shop! Very chill ambiance. I had a cold brew shake with the chocolate malt crunch, which tasted like a very sweet iced coffee. It was really good and the perfect level of thickness. My husband had a strawberry, banana, Nutella crape that he said was very good, probably a solid 7 or 8 on a 1-10 scale. They made the crape fresh in store, it makes the while shop smell amazing! My friend had a scoop of Superman (which is kinda like a berry-like sherbet) that he said was very good and a root beer float which he said was well balanced. I’m definitely going to be coming back! I joined the rewards program! Lol

Ok I’m not trying to be rude and take cheap shots for the sake of a review…but I don’t get it? I don’t get the praise and stars for this place? We went to Sweet Republic after dinner for a pallet cleanser and saw the reviews and stars and was excited to drop by. It seems that the selection is pretty diverse offering a nice selection of flavors that are “off the beaten path” such as crème brûlée, brown butter pecan, and salted caramel, along with normal ice cream staples. These were “fine” but not earth shattering. When we walked in there were three teens behind the counter and no welcome or really even acknowledgment of our existence other than we were in line. Despite the collection of flavors we seemed to annoy them and “put them out” asking to try some of the flavors. The truly disappointing part was the lack of generosity of the scoops. It is $4.50 for a single scoop and it is just that a scoop. One slide of the spoon and what ever fills the bowl of the spoon is what you get. So each scoop was a touch bigger than a golf ball. At the End of the Day, I don’t like comparing but I’m used to the Valleys selection of Handels franchises where they are generous with their scoops (they brag about it) and generous with their customer service and friendliness. No need to come back with better offerings near by!

Hands down one of the best ice cream spots in Phoenix! Sweet Republic has an incredible selection of flavors that are both unique and perfectly balanced—think rich chocolate, tangy citrus, and creative seasonal specials. The quality is next level, you can tell everything is made with care and the finest ingredients. The staff is friendly and happy to let you sample before committing. The vibe is cozy and inviting, perfect for a sweet treat after exploring Phoenix.

The store offers unique flavors of ice cream and sorbete, not too sweet and not too creamy. We tried the blueberry cobbler and the one with the almond brittle and caramel sauce. Both were delicious!

The perfect “Ice Cream Date” vibe. Friendly local atmosphere. The staff was extremely nice, happy to see us and willing to assist! They were playing some cool grooves tunes that kept it fun, and the line was moving fast. Perfect for kids and a date night. They make custom shakes also. A+ definitely swing by this joint!

All I can say is YUMMY 😋! Ice cream is a smooth, silky texture. Flavors were all great as you can give them a taste test to make sure you will love the flavor. Service was greatvat this little cute ice local cream shop in my neighborhood. There is so much to choose from. I will be back to try more, especially those 🍪. You gotta try it. Price point is the normal homemade 🍦 shop.

I absolutely love this place. It’s so laid back and old school. It makes me feel like I’m around 8,9,10 or even younger at a friend’s house. You know the friend that has all the cool stuff and his or her parents let’s them do whatever and have whatever they want but they still hate there parents for whatever reason. But I would definitely keep going plus the Ice cream is the best I’ve had in phx so far and it doesn’t leave my stomach hurting at all so both of my thumbs are up. Thank you guys and keep up the great work and I’ll be seeing y’all very soon.

Such a cool place—I absolutely loved it. The music matched the vibe perfectly and really set the mood as soon as you walk in. The whole space is full of random, creative elements, but somehow everything is put together in a really thoughtful and visually pleasing way. It honestly feels like stepping into a rave or some kind of immersive art space. The atmosphere is fun, energetic, and a little different from anything else around. The owner was super chill, friendly, and easy to talk to, which made the experience even better. And the ice cream was actually really good too—definitely worth trying. I would absolutely come back again.

We randomly found this place on Google while my daughter and I were on a daddy-daughter date night. We had grabbed burgers nearby, and she wanted ice cream, so we decided to give this place a try without knowing anything about it. From the moment we walked in, we loved the vibe. The colors, the lights, and all the random decorations on the walls made it such a fun and unique place. The ice cream was fantastic, and once we settled in and realized what the place was all about, we headed to the back and spent a couple of hours playing giant Jenga, giant Kerplunk, and just hanging out. The best part was how welcoming everyone was. My daughter ended up making friends with just about everyone there, which made the experience even more special. We’ll definitely be coming back with the rest of the kids. If you haven’t checked this place out yet, it’s absolutely worth a visit!

Hands down coolest ice cream shop I’ve ever been to. All the flavors are lactose sensitive and it’s some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had, genuinely. Biscoff flavor was insane. The vibes are immaculate, owners are super friendly, water bottles are free and there’s a sick lounge in the back. I will absolutely be back and this will be a stop with out of town guests. Can’t speak highly enough. Come check it out!!!

Wonderful ice cream flavors and wonderful employees! We came across this ice cream place while visiting from out of town and the vibes were incredible. Initially we were just stopping for a quick treat to beat the heat but instead we ended up hanging out in the back which my almost 5 year old daughter loved. She has severe HIE and cerebral palsy as well as a visual impairment and so the fun lights and decor were very appealing to her. It was not busy when we went so accessibility for my daughters wheelchairs wasn’t an issue but I could see how on a busier day accessibility would need some caution. Great place overall! Will visit again.

Fun atmosphere and super friendly staff. Highly recommend a visit. I brought my life skills class for a field trip and they enjoyed the lights and stuffies, plus who doesn’t love a disco bathroom. Some fun quotes are “chocolate yum” and “oooooo”. I came back and enjoyed a scoop of Turkish Coffee ice cream as well. 👍👍

I LOVE HALO HALO!!! I’m the kind of person that will go to every single place that has it and tries it. This place so far, everything they sell there is to die for. The Halo Halo is perfect, I tried this other desert I just can’t remember the name. It’s like custard with this sweet sauce over it. They have fresh pasties which I love as well. They have so many different flavors of ice cream to try as well. And food menu is pretty good too. Definitely a place to try.

SO GOOOD. So unique. So many options. Flavors all outstanding. The best Taro ice cream I’ve had! We also got caramel crunch, so creamy and good. Lastly got the Calamansi sorbet con chamoy and it was like citrus from a tree in my backyard, so fresh. 5 stars! Owner/workers were so nice and obviously loved what they do.

We came down here as a team outing for a volleyball tournament. There were so many options to choose from for the girls and parents. They even had get to know you cards and chess. The girl serving us was fantastic! I don’t think she was expecting to serve about 16 people at the same time she was a rockstar. I had the Mango sorbet it was so good my child got a boba milk tea she enjoyed it. This was a good little hang out spot. Wish I took pictures of what we got 🙂

Waited almost 30 minutes to order, and then when I go order the lady employee said they don’t have shaved ice and don’t sell any shaved ice drinks. Even though there is a huge sign when you walk In With all of the flavors with shaved ice. Waste of my time and horrible business on them to advertise something they don’t sell. Especially since we waited 30 minutes with 2 staff working and only 2 others customers in front of us. Definitely won’t come back here again.

The Yard Milkshake Bar offers a spectacle of over-the-top desserts and extravagant sundaes. While the visual presentation is impressive, the flavor and texture of the creations can be hit-or-miss, occasionally leaning toward being overly sugary. The shop utilizes Blue Bell ice cream to ground its offerings.

Service can be slow during peak hours, and the high price point reflects the premium experience. Visitors benefit from parking validation and a convenient downtown location, making it a notable destination for those seeking a unique, shareable treat.

I really wanted to try this place since I was staying downtown. It’s obviously known for its over the top shakes and sundaes and that definitely didn’t disappoint. But I would honestly say its only okay, its fun to grab one of their creations, but they basically turn into a huge mess. We tried the milk and cookies, smores, and oreo cookie creation. They really pivot to offering a pint jar souvenir, so much that there’s a dedicated washing station for it. They do offer free parking validation so thats nice. And they are about 10 minutes walking distance from the convention center. Fun to try out, but I feel I dont need to come back. The staff are great, but looked like they could use more workers helping out, the eating area was pretty dirty and no one cleaned.

Hands down amazing! This milk shake place is next level. Parking is a bit difficult to find and you’ll have to park in the garage next door, but it’s pretty worth it considering the experience! You get a milk shake (which is already amazing) and then they put a brownie ON TOP of your milk shake, which levels up the entire experience. This is a must-go-to dessert place!

Most reviews seem to hit this on the nose. I can say the appearance of them is way better then they actually are. Certainly wasn’t impressed across the board. Slow service was from the start. While I have some room due to knowing what they are actually making but that room was quickly filled and passed over. The taste was not even really mediocre in my opinion. The shake was runny and tasted more like I was drinking milk with the faintest little taste of mint. Overall not great. This location had a very long line with only 3 employees and all of them seemed to want to be anywhere else but here.

The Honest Truth

Location is not good if this is the only place you’re going to because your gonna pay for parking one way or the other. Your eyes are going to lie to your taste buds… everything is over the top. They use Blue Bell ice cream, which is good, but when you see the prices, you think about just heading to the store to get a gallon. Yes, this place is over the top expensive and all the extras you get really don’t taste great. I had the Oat Totally Dough Lishous and it was ok… the edible cookie dough isn’t anything spec and the cookie they garnish it with looks like a little Debbie’s cookie, but doesn’t taste as good. My daughter got the The Cereal Killer and that was better. My son got the Doughnut Touch My Coffee and Cream… the doughnut was middle of the road but the ice cream was good. None of us were fans of the whipped cream. Plan on a sugar rush… eat a solid savory meal a couple hours. None of us could finish and they felt bad because of how expensive it was. I told them not to worry about it. Probably best to share.

Great little ice cream spot in DT Phx. It has all kind of gimmicky options of ice cream and shakes to choose from. Me personally I like to sticking to classic treats. I do feel like the pricing is up there but I guess you pay for the experience. When busy service does tend to move a bit slow, so you might have to wait an extra couple of minutes. The ice cream is blue bell so being from Texas we know it’s good lol. Would say it’s worth it on hot day.
