We had a great experience with FOR. Their inspection was thorough and I really appreciated how they walked me through the process. Glad to get my old insulation removed and my ducts sealed. Highly recommend- ask for Jermaine and Jen.

I’m very grateful I met FOR at my benefit fair. I wasn’t aware I had damaged duct work because I’ve never been in my attic. Their videos were thorough and Jen has been helpful and efficient. They have been great to work with.

Everyone I spoke with was professional and knowledgeable Tiffany, Jermaine, and Jen were a pleasure to work with. Jermaine did the inspection and he was thorough, kind, and seemed to enjoy what he was doing. Jen was also extremely knowledgeable she helped me understand the scope of the project and made me feel confident in my decision. I attempted to work with several other companies in the area and none of them came close to the attention to detail, kindness, and professionalism. I would definitely recommend to a friend and would work with them again. Thank you.

We knew it was time to get our attic checked and update our insulation, our house is 25 years old! We had our free eval with Germaine and he was very thorough with pictures and videos. We moved forward with Jen and she came to our house to go over everything, also very thorough and communicated all the best needs for us. I am so ready to get rid of this old, dusty insulation and have a cooler, fresher house!

For energy staff are every friendly and patient (we had 3 or 4 things going on the side) that was not expected. They explained everything to the point we understand it. Jen and Jermaine are great to work with. They’re educational and really pinpoint specific issues. They’ve been wonderful to work with.

As a family, our first experience going solar has been wonderful! The whole team at Envision Solar, starting with our sales rep Ivan, thoroughly explained all of our options, always readily available to answer any questions we had, and responded in a timely manner. The technicians that installed our panels were very polite, friendly and professional… They did a wonderful job cleaning up after they were finished! We absolutely loved that our techs painted the pipe or wire that goes up the side of the house to the panels, which really looks so much more professional because it blends with the home. We thank everyone at Envision Solar because you guys rock!!

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!! Great company up front when they are selling you their product but don’t expect any customer service once they have been paid. My new Solar system has been malfunctioning and now they won’t return calls or answer their phones. SO much for a lifetime warranty.

While the first guy, Christopher Overton, was nice, we were given the runaround regarding our incentive after everything was installed. He said we would get a large incentive check to assist with backyard projects if we signed up with them “today” (February 2025) and then from the day of solar activation (May 2025) it would be 90-120 days to get our incentive check, but we have yet to receive it (August would be 90 days and September would be 120), and it has now been 4 months since the 120-day mark and almost a whole year after we signed this contract. We have been in communication with Terri Edmond, their controller. We are just given the run around of “We don’t know where it is, and we are still waiting. Once we have a clearer date, we will reach out.” No other communication other than when I reach out to them, monthly, to get an update. We would not have gone with Envision Solar without the incentive, and now we have it, and we have not been paid the incentive, and they are not upholding their promise to us. **EDIT TO ADD** It is almost April, and still no communication. It has been well over 200 days now with zero communication from Terri regarding payment. I have reached out to the BBB and to the AG, and they still have not reached out to me for any payment update.

The crew showed up just after sunrise and immediately got to work without wasting half the morning talking. They finished faster than expected and cleaned every bit of packaging before leaving. I like that the panels blend nicely with the roof instead of looking bulky or awkward.

New to solar companies other than the constant flow of door-to-door sales folks. Ended up going with Envision who have done a good job with our project. We had a great experience with Ryan (sales) who was sensitive to our needs and wants. Elevation (installers) were always very professional and timely. There was some delay due to Tesla parts availability but we are live now so time will tell how reliability and support plays out in the future.

Envision Solar AZROC license has been SUSPENDED!! We are beyond frustrated and deeply disappointed by our experience with Envision Solar. In November 2025, we signed a contract with Envision Solar for a residential solar installation and paid a $42,000 down payment. We were asked to pay the entire $84,000 contract amount upfront, but thankfully we refused and paid only the deposit. More than seven months later, not a single solar panel has been installed on our home. Despite countless promises, excuses, and assurances from Darryl, President of Envision Solar, that our project would be completed, absolutely nothing has been done. Every time we were told the installation was moving forward, we believed him. Every time, we were disappointed. As of June 10, 2026, we are still without the solar system we paid for, and our $42,000 deposit has not been returned. What makes this even more upsetting is the complete lack of communication and accountability. We trusted this company with a substantial amount of money, and in return, we have been left waiting, frustrated, and wondering if we will ever see our money again. We have exhausted every avenue available to us. We have filed complaints with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB), hired an attorney, and filed a police report. Yet despite all of these efforts, we still have not received our refund. Sadly, our family is not the only one affected. Our son also trusted Envision Solar and paid a $48,000 down payment for a solar installation that never happened. He, too, has been forced to file complaints and pursue legal action in an attempt to recover his money. The financial and emotional stress this situation has caused our family has been tremendous. We entered into this contract in good faith, expecting a solar system to be installed on our home. Instead, we have spent months chasing answers, filing complaints, hiring attorneys, and fighting to recover money that should never have been withheld in the first place. Based on our experience, we strongly urge anyone considering doing business with Envision Solar to proceed with extreme caution. Do your research, verify all licensing information, and think carefully before providing a large upfront payment. We would not want another family to experience the frustration, financial loss, and hardship that ours has endured.

Envision Solar just got my solar system installed. The whole experience with them was near Perfect! I decided to get solar very late Oct and was worried about getting everything done before the 12/31/2025 rebates cut off due to the new bill. When AJ came to my house giving his presentation (at this point I already had 3 other quotes and had some research done – so I was aware of what I wanted for solar and the pricing). AJ not only got pretty close to my other top quote he actually came up with a plan with deadlines to get things done – so I can get everything up and running (PTO – Permission To Operate) before the cut off. And that convinced me that they could get it done by the deadline. AND BOY DID THEY DELIVER!! I decided on a Friday to go with them and they did the site inspection on Monday, bank loan approved same day, and the complete plan delivered by Tuesday. On Wednesday their installer submitted for permits, APS Application and paperwork to my HOA. Next Thursday I had my complete system installed – keep in mind, this is 13 days after I made the decision to go with them. Their customer advocate kept in touch with me through the entire process. He was proactive in his communication regarding what next steps are. Their installer did a fantastic job, getting everything installed on the same day, painting everything to match my house and when they left, not a single trash or debris (not even a nail) anywhere on my property. My whole process took 6 weeks (and that was mostly due to APS inspection and APS meter installation, etc – all delays were APS) from start to finish and now I am producing solar electricity this week. I am already producing more than I am using daily. This company has been transparent, communicative, and pro active this entire process. Any time I had any questions – all I had to do is text or dial the number for AJ and he either picked up or called me back within 2 hours every single time. He took the time to explain next steps. I highly recommend you choose this company for your solar needs. If I ever want to expand – will definitely repeat with them.

Bright Energy did my SOLAR ! They are a good company to work with. They did a great job plowing thru all of the various permits and approvals necessary. Tyler the owner was outstanding while Austin the project manager kept us informed and aware of the progress and delays. I can’t say enough about the great experience I had with Bright Home installing my power wall. They took care of it all (design, installation, and inspections). I really appreciated that Greg Field from PGT Solar Solutions gave me straight forward advice and didn’t try to upsell me into buying more than I needed. The installation was done in a timely manner once all the necessary approvals were granted from APS. The installation looks great. I will also add that Bright Home was recommended to me by my eldest son who also had them do his home and is very pleased as well.

I would highly recommend solar installation by OWE. From beginning, middle, and completion of installation, Eds (Edrelyn Fermante) was always on top of the processes. She coordinated getting the technicians in to install, kept me abreast on status, additional upgrades, and even dealing with my HOA complaint about painting the conduits. Even after installation, Eds kept me informed of the next steps for the Tesla battery rebate. I must mention that the inspector and installation technicians were professional and friendly. I appreciate the no nonsense approach OWE (Our World Energy) applies. It has been effectively effortless on my part. It has been good to communicate with a friendly human as compared to some AI personality. Kudos to Eds for performing an excellent job! Jay is the last project manager. He kept me informed and assured me that they will always be available, even when I intend to upgrade my wifi router. Kudos to him and his team!

The Our World Energy team did a fantastic job. The sales rep was Kevin, project coordinator was Eds and the installation foreman was Jesus. The process was executed with a high degree of precision. We received a written confirmation after each milestone was completed. All our questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. We will definitely will recommend OWE to our friends and neighbors.

First off all, my hat is off to Jeff who was our sales rep and the installers who did an absolutely amazing job. I can’t say enough positive things about them. However, the project management was far less than I expected. I cannot count the number of times I emailed and texted the project manager and got no reply at all. Even if the response is “I don’t know the answer but I’ll look into” it, it is better than silence. Eventually I contacted Jeff and he graciously researched and was able to answer my questions. I had to do this on multiple occasions to get any information at all. And still the process was plagued with work being done that literally nobody had asked for or understood why it was being done or people coming out when I had zero knowledge of when or why until they were on their way. Finally, after five months, I’m nearly ready to actually turn the thing on. I’m confident things will work correctly. So: five stars for sales and install; two for project management.

Our installation was activated 5 days ago and is working quite well. It took a little longer than expected but the job was done professionally and I’m happy with the outcome. There were 2 administrative items that were not done and is now being addressed by our project coordinator Noemi. Noesis has been very responsive and is looking into the issues. We are in the hottest part of the year and our APS usage is down but we are still using some power from them. I really won’t know the overall performance for a few more months but so far so good.

We recently had our solar panels installed by this company and the experience was overall positive. Noemi helped us throughout the process and was incredibly helpful, making sure everything stayed on track. The initial consultation and installation went smoothly without any major issues. The crew arrived on time, was professional, and completed the work cleanly. The system has been up and running for a short time now and seems to be working exactly as it should. Because the installation is so recent, it’s still too early to judge the long-term performance and determine if it will meet our economic goals. However, based on the customer service and installation quality so far, we are happy with the service we received.

Overall, this company provided great service….it was always delivered on the dates and times promised, however, I did experience delays toward the end of the service in the form of delayed paperwork and an unclear process for the company providing a service technician to do a formal review of the system at the end of the installation. Attention: Bradley Chavez However, at the end, a SHINING light appeared in the person of Mr. Alejandro Ferrel, a service tech, who came out to solve an installation issue with the battery connections to the panels. He resolved the issues with 2 separate service calls on the same day and he took the time to clearly explain the issues and to guide me through setting up the application for the internet. Alejandro was extremely courteous, patient, and respectful throughout our interactions. He is truly an asset to the company and his service was truly commendable. Sincerely, Valesca F Adams

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. We chose Solar and Detach because the sales representative we worked with agreed to match the price of another company we were considering if we committed and signed with them that same day. Based on that agreement, we moved forward immediately and chose their company. After the work was completed, we discovered that the representative who made that agreement is no longer with the company. We were then told that because the price match was not reflected in the written estimate, the company would not honor the agreement that was made to us. The work itself was completed satisfactorily, but this experience left us feeling frustrated and disappointed. We made our decision in good faith based on the pricing we were promised. It’s unfortunate that a customer is expected to absorb the consequences of an employee leaving the company, especially when that employee’s promise is what secured our business in the first place. My advice to future customers is to get every promise, discount, and price match in writing before signing anything. Clear communication and honoring commitments are just as important as the work being performed.

Our process with the solar Detach started off pretty rocky with the lack of communication from Brad and his crew. Brad had the worst customer service i have ever dealt with. Once Rod and Ysaul got involved everything was great, what was promised was delivered promptly. What started out negatively was resolved with the care and compassion that every customer deserves. The communication was wonderful. Ysaul arrived timely, even before the scheduled time. It did not go well. The technician was given the wrong part so he could not make the repair. The part he was given came with the entire skylight, the metal and plastic parts. All he needed was the right plastic part and not the metal portion. I gave you the correct part number from Window Depot, but that was not what he showed up with. I gave him the correct part number but he said he didn’t have time to drive to Tucson to get the part and come back and install it because he had a job in Queen Creek this afternoon. I don’t understand why you didn’t just have him finish my job and reschedule the one in Queen Creek. Having to have someone spend six hours on the road to come back down to Green Valley again doesn’t make sense to me.

I am extremely disappointed with the experience with this solar company. The level of service and professionalism has been far below what I expected. Communication and support have been frustrating, and concerns have not been handled in a way that makes customers feel valued or respected. The equipment and overall quality of service have also been major concerns. For a company operating in the solar industry, customers should be able to expect reliable equipment, proper maintenance, and a team that stands behind the services they provide. Unfortunately, my experience has been stressful and disappointing from a customer perspective. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to do thorough research and read reviews carefully before signing a contract.

American Solar has a real gem in their service technician Danny, who came to address a problem which has been intermittently dogging me for a couple years. As a retired software engineer, I’m familiar with the term CNR meaning “Can Not Reproduce” – we often used it as an excuse to move on, give up, and wait for the customer to actually demonstrate the issue. Danny however was proactive and actively in pursuit of a resolution. First, by addressing a couple issues within the inverter, he was able to consistently reproduce the issue which had disappeared by the time he arrived at my house. Second, by some real painstaking investigation under many of my solar panels, he located the actual fault – a cracked panel connector. I’m truly grateful for American Solar & Roofing’s service availability and for their technician Danny, who is a real asset to the company – and a lifesaver (and money saver) for me, the customer.

16 years ago American Solar & Roofing installed a solar system on my home. I am currently replacing the underlayment of the roof and will have to remove and reinstall or upgrade our solar system. As various roofers bid on the job they all responded how impressed they were on how the solar system was installed and held up. The solar is still producing enough capacity not to warrant the cost of upgrading except for the hardware supports. American Solar & Roofing provided the recommended support hardware which will be used. When the time comes to upgrade the solar system I would without hesitation call American Solar and Roofing.

The American Solor & Roofing team did an excellent and professional job installing the solar panels, conduit, inverter and critter screens on my Tucson home! Jose made sure I was informed on scheduling. Mary Anne was superb scheduling, providing plans and securing permits/inspections from my HOA, Pinal County, and TRICO. I highly recommend America Solar and Roofing for your solar project.

Danny was excellent! He took the time to answer a barrage of questions as we’re new to Solar. He was professional, patient, knowledgeable and very personable. Gave us some tips and tricks to watch out for as well as how to maintain the system. Couldn’t have asked for a better technician!

I have had a system for twenty years. They replaced two inverters no charge. One I paid for w/o realizing I should have filed a claim three months earlier. My fault, my lesson. I WILL watch and explain after 3 months from now after my billing changes back to standard.

I have had nothing but positive results from my solar and my interaction with the company. Nothing went wrong for 18 years and then I had to have a new converter which is not out of line. And it cost me nothing. I recently had the upgrade for summer and my electric bills dropped substantially. all great for me.

We inherited a solar system with a recent home purchase and needed to get the old owners removed and us linked to the system for monitoring and trouble alerts. Danny took good care of us. It was more elaborate than I expected but he did an excellent job. Definitely not anything myself or any homeowner could have handled alone without professional assistance.

When I started with this company when I got my solar panels, their customer service was great. However, now they barely pick up the phone if I’m even lucky to get a person to respond, they take several days to respond to emails even when they are urgent needs for repairs, and their prices have shot up significantly. Stay way from this company and look for other businesses that actually get back to you in a timely manner and provide real quality customer service.

Worst customer support I have ever experienced. Inverter isn’t working but still under warranty. Paid $400 for a tech to come “look” at the problem. 2 weeks later still no word of the issue. Calls go straight to AI, which forwards to AI. Texts go unanswered for 3 to 4 days at a time and dont resolve anything except asking for money. I cant believe they are so incompetent. Avoid this company. The warranty is worthless. I imagine they will avoid me until my warranty expires and suddenly be available when I have to come out of pocket. Outrageous.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. They failed inspection 3 times before passing finally. Had no circuits wired into the battery but told me otherwise. Undersized and unsafe breaker for the system. STAY AWAY. I had to call someone else out to diagnose an issue (SWE said they don’t do that anymore) and can’t get them to call me back to honor the service.

Hey, guys, my project a few years back went great. But I need assistance right now, and I keep on calling this number; we have no response whatsoever. Is anyone there? Or how can I get in contact ?

Poor customer service when you need help. Difficult to talk to an actual human, delays between responses via text and email. Finally got someone to come out for the service call and then he left without telling us what was wrong and how it is going to be fixed….still waiting.

I recently had a solar system, Tesla Powerwall 3 and a new eletrical panel installed on my roof by Solar Topps, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The entire team did an excellent job; every employee I interacted with was professional, skilled, and courteous. What impressed me most was the communication. Solar Topps kept me informed at every single step of the process, navigating the often-complex construction and permitting phases with ease. I never felt left in the dark regarding timelines or inspections. The installation itself was handled efficiently. If you are looking for a solar installer that combines high-quality workmanship with transparent, consistent updates, I highly recommend Solar Topps. They truly made the switch to solar and battery backup a stress-free experience.

Solar Topps recently (March, 2026) installed a new solar panel/whole home battery backup system on our home. The installation and City/SRP approval process took just three weeks, and went exceedingly smoothly. We’re now enjoying our system, and have hardly used any power from SRP at all. Solar Topps communicated regularly with us throughout this process, and was always available right away when we had questions. The bidding process was likewise very smooth, and we contracted with Solar Topps, even though it did not have the lowest bid, because of its professionalism, competence, and candor, as well as its long time in business and our perception that Solar Topps is financially stable and likely to be in business for a long time. We highly recommend Solar Topps as an excellent solar contractor.

Very glad we went with them. Have friends who went with another company and our experience was seamless. My friends not so much. Always available and responsive. Installation was top quality. Passed our city, fire, and SRP inspections first time and they set them all up for us. One Powerwall we got didn’t work on activation and the owner was at our house, on the phone with Tesla who authorized a replacement – which was done within 2 hrs of finding out it wasn’t working. Nothing but good things to say about them. Definitely recommend.

Great experience with Solar Topps installing 10.4 kW and a Tesla Powerwall 3. From the early sales proposals to the panels going live, their communication was top notch. Between city inspections, APS paperwork and getting equipment installed Solar Topps clearly communicated each step of the way and set clear expectations on timelines. Never realized what a complex space getting solar is. The actual install itself took 3 days (battery, conduit, electrical panel upgrade and solar panels) but the permitting, inspections and approvals were the long haul which took around 90 days – again, I didn’t have to do anything. Solar Topps took care of the whole experience. Thanks to Mark, Jesus and the installer team, Raj and Nitish for excellent communication and workmanship. If you’re curious about solar, my recommendation would be go as big as you can with your budget in terms of panel array and definitely consider a Powerwall. Given our past APS bills, our current system will pay for itself in 6 years. Thanks again Solar Topps!

We worked with Solar Topps to add Solar batteries to our existing Solar panels. They explained the process very well and answered our questions throughout the process. All of the personnel were friendly and knew what they were doing. Now we have a system that helps us utilize most of the energy our panels produce. We highly recommend Solar Topps.

Spoke with Dennis Alessandro, he gave an astronomically high bid, which is completely unethically priced for a job. 60k for 15 kw system with 2 batteries is abhorrent. I hope people search him and don’t get taken advantage of. When I respectfully discussed this with him he became nasty, condescending, and disrespectful, saying he had been doing this 16 years etc. Buyer beware!!!! Continued following response on 7/12/2026: This response from Harmon Solar is exactly why I left my review in the first place. After hearing that I had a bad experience with one of their representatives, their first move was not to call me, understand what happened, or try to make things right. Instead, they immediately came here to defend themselves and argue with a customer. The issue was never simply that I declined a quote. I was presented with a roughly $60,000 proposal for a ~15 kW system with Tesla battery storage, which I found dramatically overpriced compared to other options I was reviewing. A customer spending that kind of money has every right to ask questions and compare alternatives. The biggest problem was the attitude I received when I did exactly that. Once it became clear I was not going to accept the proposal, the conversation turned dismissive and condescending. That is not how a company should treat someone who is making a major financial decision. Their response spends a lot of time defending the salesperson and the price, but says nothing about the way the customer was treated. That tells me everything I need to know. Anyone considering solar should get multiple quotes, do their research, and pay close attention not just to the equipment, but to how the company treats you when you don’t immediately say yes.

9/11/2025 -Update- I just got off the phone with Brad, the Director of Operations. He gave me the opportunity to voice my frustrations about the project and openly acknowledged that mistakes were made. I truly appreciate his honesty, and I understand that errors can happen. What mattered most was that Brad agreed I should have been kept informed throughout the process, so I had clear expectations instead of being left in the dark searching for answers. After my conversation with Brad, I felt reassured. He stood with me, validated my concerns, and worked with me to find a resolution, instead of brushing it off with a “mistakes happen” attitude. This is the reason I chose to go with Harmon in the first place—they’re a local business I wanted to support and from what I got from Brad, they will stand with their customers to make sure everything is done to satisfaction. Can’t beat that. -I really wanted to like this company, but my solar installation has been an absolute nightmare. My panels were installed almost 4 months ago and still haven’t been turned on. In the meantime, my power has been shut off twice for over 3 hours while crews worked–yet the project is still incomplete. Communication has been almost nonexistent. My project manager will reply if I email her directly, but otherwise I receive no proactive updates about progress or next steps. When the field crews finish for the day, they just leave without saying a word. I’ve been left with panels unscrewed, wide open, and conduit scattered around my yard. Most recently, the electrical crew assured me everything would be finished and turned on–but once again, it wasn’t, and no explanation was provided. This has been one of the most frustrating customer experiences I’ve ever had.

Frequently asked questions about solar installers in Phoenix

How much do solar panels cost?

The cost of solar panels depends on the size of your system, the type of panels installed, and local labor costs in Phoenix. While prices vary, homeowners typically look at the total investment required for equipment, permitting, and professional installation. You can often find different price points based on whether you choose a standard residential setup or a larger commercial-scale array.

What are the benefits and is it worth it?

Solar panels are worth it for many homeowners because they significantly reduce monthly electricity bills and can increase property value. The primary benefits include access to renewable energy, a reduced carbon footprint, and potential long-term savings on utility costs. In sunny regions like Phoenix, the high amount of daily sunlight makes solar a highly effective way to generate consistent power.

How long do solar panels last?

Most modern solar panels are designed to last between 25 to 30 years before requiring significant maintenance or replacement. While their efficiency may gradually decrease over several decades, they continue to produce power reliably for a very long time. Regular inspections and keeping the panels clear of debris can help maximize their operational lifespan.

How do I choose and compare solar panel installers?

You should choose a solar installer by comparing their experience, licensing, warranty offerings, and previous project portfolios. It is helpful to evaluate different installers based on their transparent pricing structures and the specific types of equipment they recommend for your roof. Comparing multiple quotes allows you to see how different companies approach system design and long-term maintenance plans.

What are solar panels and how is the installation process handled?

Solar panels are devices that capture sunlight and convert it into usable electricity through the photovoltaic effect. The installation process involves assessing your roof's orientation, mounting the racking system, securing the panels, and connecting the system to your home's electrical grid. Professional installers handle the technical complexities, including wiring and ensuring the system meets local building codes.
