Anytime I come to Arizona, I make sure to carve out time for dinner at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. It has easily become one of my favorite spots. Today was especially meaningful for my family as we celebrated my mother’s 3-year anniversary of receiving her kidney transplant at the Mayo Clinic. From the moment we sat down, our waiter, Leandrew, welcomed us with such a warm and inviting smile. He immediately began offering recommendations and was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. To say he knew the dishes well would be an understatement — he could explain every ingredient in detail for anything we asked about. We always start with the Lump Crab & Spinach Dip with crostinis, and as always, it was absolutely to die for. For our entrées, we each ordered the salmon topped with shrimp and lump crab meat, finished with a rich butter sauce and mashed potato purée. Despite how busy the restaurant was, everything came out quickly and tasted absolutely magical. While the food was phenomenal, the service is truly what made this experience unforgettable. Leandrew went above and beyond, and I genuinely hope he receives the recognition he deserves. We’ll absolutely be back again. Until next time!

I cannot praise this restaurant enough.I took my mom here for both mother’s day and her birthday which is a course on the same day. She has a few complex food allergies, especially for a seafood restaurant. Not only did they manage to verify everything that was going to be going into the food itself went out of their way to communicate and double-check to make sure that things were okay But they also, we’re extraordinarily kind and made things specifically for her. Now the food itself was immaculate. Beautifully cooked octopus, not rubbery or tough at all. The food itself was very high.Quality delicious with no errors whatsoever. It was a little bit spicier than I expected. But I feel like that’s more on me with it.Being Cajun cuisine. All in all a beautiful restaurant, an amazing esthetic. A fantastic staff, a great menu. I cannot recommend enough. 100/10 stars

Went to Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen with a group for a birthday dinner and everything was absolutely delicious! I had the seasonal raspberry Hugo spritz and the leche martini, both were refreshing, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. We started with oysters and they were HUGE and incredibly fresh. For entrees, I highly recommend the Mardi Gras pasta. So flavorful and rich without being too heavy. The salmon and grits were also amazing! Honestly, I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Someone in our group ordered the surf and turf and said it was one of the best steaks they’ve ever had, and this is from someone who likes their steak still mooing. For dessert, they included our choice for the birthday celebration and we went with the brownie. Such a good ending to the meal. Warm, rich, and definitely big enough to share. Definitely a spot worth coming back to!

Fresh, generous, and absolutely worth every penny! • Okra Gumbo: was rich and flavorful. • Garlic Bread: was insanely delicious and crispy. • Shrimp & Crawfish Fondeaux: (Seafood dip) with shrimp, mushrooms, and spinach in creamy sauce was indulgent. • Blackened Fish over Cheesy Grits: was perfectly seasoned. • Shrimp and Oyster with Velvety Cream Sauce: was a showstopper. • Ended with a silky smooth Cheesecake perfection! Portions are huge, seafood is incredibly fresh. Highly recommend!

Literally amazing. Amazing authentic key lime pie, excellent oysters, delicious shrimp cocktail. The tagliatelle pasta and the etouffee were amazing. Blood orange drink was delicious. Wait staff was exceptionally welcoming. The interior is luxurious and dark, the bar is beautiful. Nice chairs and tables and decor. We sat outside on the patio and it was splendid – surrounded by bushes and beautiful brick. Gorgeous fountain out front. Portion sizes were appropriate, and will worth the price. It’s comparable to red lobster but this is a from-scratch kitchen. Was easy to get a table with no reservation, but it did get packed and busy. Saw a table with 14+ people. Bathrooms were immaculate and gorgeous, and smelled good. Highly highly recommend this place for special occasions!!! The person I went with is a key lime pie connoisseur and said it was wonderful and authentic- “a real key lime pie”

First time at this beautiful restaurant, its definitely a vibe interior and exterior. I was so impressed, what a hidden gem! Right on the I-17…unexpected. The food was delicious and service was amazing. I had an issue with my initial order (allergy related, not their fault) and kindly asked if I could get a different one and they were super gracious about it and even gave me a discount. Truly happy my team chose this restaurant for our holiday dinner. I 100% recommend it.

Awesome food, service, and atmosphere 👌. Loved their filet mignon with crab sauce, salmon and shrimp 🍤 and their seasonal banana 🍌 cheesecake 😋 Would definitely come back again for lunch or dinner. The patio seating in the garden looked amazing. Service was great and despite being busy, we felt like we were the only ones there. Very spacious and great for conversation, highly recommend making reservation as evening hours fill up quickly on weekends.

Really nice place. It was packed at 5pm. We had reservations at 5:15, table was ready at 5:25. We sat outside. The Food came out quickly. We started with “Tuna crispy rice” it looked amazing, but didn’t care for it. It was fun to have a large selection of different oysters. We had two dozen, out of the six different kinds, we absolutely loved two of them. The six piece Nigiri, also good. The clam Chowder soup was perfect. Had no problem finding a clam in every spoon full. The only thing I wish they had, was more beer options. At a minimum add a Lager option. We will be back to try more items on the menu.

Had a great experience at Buck & Rider. Definitely some of the best oysters I’ve had in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Everything tasted super fresh and the drinks were really good as well. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts though. It has a really chill, elevated vibe that works well for groups, dinner with friends, or even a casual date night. The indoor/outdoor feel makes it especially nice during good weather. Overall just a really solid spot if you’re looking for fresh seafood, good cocktails, and a relaxed but still upscale atmosphere.

Always a great experience at Buck & Rider! Buck & Rider has to be my favorite restaurant in Arcadia. I love their Smoked Trout Dip and Baja Shrimp Ceviche for appetizers. Pictured here is their Trofie Pasta and it’s DELICIOUS!! My favorite pasta dish!! 🤌🏾 Their animal friendly patio is one of the best as well.

Melissa was our waitress and was very knowledgeable and personable. It was restaurant week and we got the prefix menu items for $55 pp. It was a good deal and it came with an app, main meal, and desert. While they failed short of our two Colorado Bulldogs aka a white Russian with Coke we enjoyed our time.

Tanner was the best! So charming and we loved every single one of his recommendations. Hope to have him as our server again in the future. The Playa De Pina was refreshing and yummy. The Baja shrimp ceviche was delicious! The Hamachi crudo just melts in your mouth… the sauce was a perfect match. The Blue crab cakes were amazing, but the broccolini was just ok. I was skeptical of the Gluten Free Chocolate cake but it was TO DIE FOR. Neither of us are GF, but would 100% order that again!

JJ Ms Foodie

Food is good but not what I had tonight at all. Usually, portions are somewhat smaller than other locations. Entrees with no sides is horrible on the corporate side. Especially for their prices. Menu photos as of APRIL 2026. Sat with nothing to drink through my meal. 1 ice filled glass of water lasted till the entree came. Pasta dish was SUPER greasy. No appetite for anything further. Shrimp lobster linguine…. With loads of oily butter naturally not much of any lobster. There was a real fishy claw nail after that bite it was all over. $35. no sides no drink.

My son’s 11th birthday & this was where he chose to eat for his day. They sang HB to him but told him before they did it. It was funny the server was a young kid and probably didn’t think about it. Lol still a good time with my son!

I’m giving this a one star and if I could give it less than I would. The food was tasty as always… That was not the problem. The problem I have is that the portion sizes have changed. They have gotten smaller. Red lobster is bleeding money because of this. The same dish that my husband got a year ago had one large fillet of cod. It was enough to fill him up and leave him satisfied. The cost was 20 dollars. It came with a large pile of french fries and two large hush puppies. Today he paid $4 more, got two of the smallest pieces of fish I’ve ever seen, and the hush puppies were the size of nickels…. So they are bleeding money because they are charging More for less food…. Unfortunately I will not be going back.

Cheers to chef as well as the establishment itself! The Almond toasted trout was prepared beautifully, the scalloped potatoes were seasoned to perfection to pair with the green beans. This was my first time in, the ambiance did not disappoint! Loved the sourdough starter as well as the time between ordering and being served the actual meal was just the right amount of time! Definitely will be a new go to for me, would recommend to anyone who also enjoys great seafood!

Came here with my family, and I ordered their Shrimo cocktail and a half dozen prepared oysters. The waitress was super nice very informative. And the food was delicious, I had come here in like years. And to come back and the food is still tastes fresh. My shrimp cocktail had plenty of shrimp even on the outside, and my oysters they came with this special sauce to put over the oyster it was delicious 🤤 oh and they gave us a fish ceviche tostada on the house which on the next time I go I am gonna order me some fish ceviche tostadas. So overall I liked the food it was fresh and delicious would definitely come back. 💯👍🏼

Mariscos Playa Hermosa is my go-to spot for Mexican seafood. The food is always consistently good, and I love the complimentary tostada they bring to the table. The Picante Margarita was delicious, and the breaded shrimp tacos, Camarones Locos, and Campechano cocktail were all excellent. My only complaint is the 6% credit card fee, which can make it harder to leave a larger tip for the servers. Other than that, this place never disappoints.

Originally had a reservation at their sister restaurant Cielo Rojo, unfortunately this was during a big monsoon and I received a call letting me know their electricity went out and they would be closed for the night. They let us know we could go to playa hermosa and order similar/same items there. It was already a bit chaotic with the weather and cancelation but we decided why not. Despite the heavy thunderstorm going on outside we had a lot of fun coming here. The atmosphere was uplifting and so bright with all the colors and music. The food is on the pricier side but definitely worth it! Our server Gabby was amazing as well she really made the experience even that much better! We ordered the x4 aguachiles, surf & turf tacos and the shark drink. Ate everything DOWN, heads up that yellow sauce aguachile will have you reaching for your drink every 2 seconds.

Tiny parking lot but I guess they have more in the back…. Plenty of colorful wall and exterior painting before walking in, great quick service and inside loud music and colors don’t end, it’s perfect and works!! House margarita at $17 and it’s small is too high, did taste great but not that strong but that’s the only complaint but still these guys are at and deserve 5 stars…. Mega molcahete at $100 seems high at first until it comes out, loaded with a perfectly cooked and seasoned lobster tail and large octopus leg with tentacles, steak, chicken, shrimp and lightly battered white fish also come with the bowl, rice and beans with fresh tortillas also accompany the dish and it’s worth the price as really 2 or 3 people can share and enjoy great surf and turf 💯

Been a while since we last visited Buck & Rider (it was Restaurant Week in 2025 and the experience was so-so). No disappointment this time! We were greeted with warm birthday wishes (it was my birthday) and seated promptly while the restaurant was packed. Our server, Lizeth, was attentive, gave great recommendations, and took amazing care of our table throughout the entire time. We ordered the pull-apart dinner rolls and tuna crispy rice as starters – both fantastic as usual. For the raw platter, we loved the oyster and Peruvian scallop on the shell, while the Tristan Rock lobster tails were okay (to be clear, they were fine but nothing special). My hubby had the sea bass pan seared, with lemon caper sauce served on the side. I had the Spanish turbot based on Lizeth’s suggestion; it came with a vibrant piri piri sauce. Both entrees were excellent – expertly cooked and memorable flavors. We were too full for desserts and were gifted the B&R macarons to take home.

We went here for my birthday. It’s one of my favorite restaurants, yet they still managed to pleasantly surprise me. They have such superb service, and make everything feel special without being pretentious. We were on the patio, packed with people, including more than one table with young children, and it was a lovely night out! The manager even came over to us at the end of the night, wished me a happy birthday, and gifted me some macarons. Btw… the strawberry shortcake was absolutely amazing!

Another great experience including excellent service by Kara. Our food was great and this visit we sampled the Halibut and Shrimp and Prawn Risotto. We started with the wonderful hot bread and crispy rice ahi and avocado appetizer. A wonderful tasty experience with spicy sauce. The meal was completed with the famous lemon meringue pie ( the likes of which you have never seen) This tangy lemon pie is topped with lots of perfect meringue. Gelato and press coffee for my husband. Chris W. Stopped by our table several times to ensure we were happy with food and service. It was great to have such a personal touch from management and much appreciated. A very busy restaurant with such personal attention is a rare find. We enjoyed sharing personal messages on their ever changing board reflecting anniversaries, birthdays and baby announcements. What a great idea! Thanks to all!

Buck & Rider seems to be a favorite spot for folks to visit. The service from the time you enter until you leave was friendly and welcoming. They had iced lemon water for you while you waited to be seated. A waiter walked around asking if they could start any cocktails for you so your wait for a table felt shorter. If you are celebrating a special occasion, they have an electric announcement board that gave you a shout-out for the occasion. 😊 I enjoyed the appetizer of calamari with excellent dipping sauce. My entree of shrimp scampi wasn’t my favorite but someone else may enjoy. There was too much sauce and no individual shrimp flavor. I personally like more of a herb and butter flavor for shrimp scampi. My husband liked his crispy fried snapper. Asparagus is my favorite vegetable to eat, their asparagus had no flavor and was a huge portion with the pieces being too large. We did have the chocolate cake for dessert that had a small scoop of vanilla ice cream that we shared. For our anniversary they gifted us a 3 boxed macaroons. We didn’t have any alcoholic drinks, the bill came to $130 before the tip.

My husband & I are visiting from Chicago & were recommended here by a local. We came around 8pm on Friday without a reservation. We waited maybe 10 minutes max from a spot at the bar. We didn’t mind the wait since we were able to stand by the kitchen & see all the food that was made waiting to be brought out to the tables. The bartenders were nice. Food may have taken a lil long to come out but I didn’t pay that much attention to it. The food was good, but my favorite part was the seasonal dessert, which was a strawberry shortcake. Overall, happy with the restaurant but I will say it didn’t seem like a place for a romantic, intimate dinner as it was very loud

The birthday girl picked Buck & Rider Scottsdale having been there twice before for their happy hour. I reserved a table using their Priority Seating Reservations and our party was seated within minutes of arriving. This place lived up to the hype with its fresh catch flown in daily, high-energy atmosphere, and attentive service. It’s an ideal setting for casual lunches, celebratory dinners, or group gatherings. I suggest you add Buck & Rider to your need to try list.

My wife and I came for our anniversary, and we felt very valued and loved by all of the staff and our server. I unfortunately forgot her name but she did an amazing job job. (Came in around 5:40pm on 6/25 Cajucom’s, we sat in the corner booth, if you know who she is she deserves to be recognized!) We also appreciated the sincere touch of the manager stopping by and bringing us the macaroons. That was amazing! The food came out quickly, cooked to perfection! Cooks deserve a round of applause. Overall super glad we chose buck and rider to celebrate our anniversary.

For a fast casual seafood focused spot in Scottsdale, I am completely blown away by Maui Fish House. The owner and staff are always wonderful to chat with and very kind. The restaurant itself is bright, clean, and laid-out well with a great vibe. The food is absolutely spectacular! The fish is incredibly fresh and prepared to perfection. So far I’ve had both the fish plate and the fish sandwich and both are equally delicious. Honorable mentions are also the tarter sauce and cole slaw which complete the meal alongside a fluffy bed of rice. I’m definitely going to try to come here more often because both times I’ve been so far it was outstanding!

Food was fantastic the first time as the blackened Mahi Mahi was light and cooked perfectly, but the second time, the fish was so overcooked that it was like a can of tuna. The brown rice was flavorful the first time but had no flavor the second time. Good portion though. Not a fan of the spicy coleslaw but it’s a good portion as well. The poke was terrible and not worthy of the praise I see online. Would not recommend. The food is ready quickly for takeout. Have only had takeout here and ordered online. Management has poor customer service responses to reviews that aren’t stellar, not a way to run a restaurant when customers are disappointed — yes, and they have many customers who do delivery and takeout. Not every customer has the ability to dine in and complain on the spot. Do your job better by apologizing and promising to show the young employees how not to overcook an expensive piece of fish.

Stopped in on a whim running errands- phenomenal! Had the fish & onion rings/seafood chowder. The batter on both a 10. The fish itself so tender and flaky. House made tarter and ranch- out of this world. I’m so excited to have found this place as I live in the area. Getting greeted with “aloha” by everyone and the reggae/Hawaiian music was fun as well. You won’t be disappointed!

The food was excellent and portions were unbelievably huge in comparison to the price. The staff were friendly and came by our table to ask about our needs and satisfaction. The atmosphere had the Hawaiian vibe rolling with actual surf boards adorning the walls. Even the dining tables were really short boards turned upside down to show one fin sticking up. This feature was very unique and made for a great experience. My wife and I highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the mood for great seafood at a reasonable price 🤙.

We were looking for a sit down fish restaurant near Mayo Hospital and decided to try Maui Fish House. When we entered we were greeted by the man at the counter, he was very welcoming and explained the menu. Though it was counter service we gave it a try. We had mahi mahi fish platter and the taco volcano with blacked ahi. Great food and super friendly staff. Suggested they locate a new restaurant at Prasada in Surprise. This is a must try dining option.

We had a short visit in the area and this place was suggested to us by a local. It was a fun and delicious meal. It brought me back to my childhood, visiting family in Louisiana and the crab boils they shared with us. I had the red beans and rice…it was very good, great spice and flavor. My husband ordered the create your own boil and he loved it.

I went into the Angr Crab Shack on Indian School and 24th and was floored on the sheer space once inside. Look, I’m not an interior decorator idk about that world but seems like the idea was to have the look and feel of an on-the-dock disk joint, at least that’s the voice I got. I belly-uped to the bar and was greeted by a nice gal and got some water and the menu. The menu is EXPANSIVE! They’ve got a lot to offer but I’m just an average Joe and it was happy so I tackled that. Got some gumbo, red beans and rice, corn bread, chicken wings, and a beer for like $30. It was all great, yes I had plenty of leftovers. It’s good stuff and worth the visit.

I was greeted and seated immediately upon entering the restaurant by Rachel who would be my server. She was very friendly and welcoming and made some recommendations, which I went with. I’m not the most social person, so it’s kind of a big deal to me when I feel comfortable and at ease around a stranger. Rachel definitely made me feel that way and it was greatly appreciated. I had the crayfish which was something new for me, and the buffalo wings just in case. The crayfish was amazing, and the buffalo wings were the best I’ve ever had. The entire experience was better than I could’ve hoped for. I’m in the area 1-2 times a month, and this restaurant is going to be my regular stop.

So we decided to come to angry crab after softball tournament that mind you I lost so kids decided to pick angry crab to go out to eat and I honestly was not feeling it so I decided why not so we show up immediately we got sat it was around 12:30 on a Saturday wasn’t busy at all and we were freaking hungry so we started ordering they got a seafood boil build your own and we got fried pickles a basket of fries and some wings. It’s bulk season don’t judge.! Haha. Danny was our server and he was just so friendly and knew the menu, what was popular, and what he recommend and we just got all the things and on top of it. We got some fried cornbread with some ice cream to die for I swear I was regretting coming here until I tasted everything. And immediately said I have to leave a review. I hope this helps somebody because everything was fresh and I’m very picky when it comes to food Cajun is delicious here Everything was just so amazing. Come try them out. Kudos to the cooks and to Danny we’ll be back.

Our food was ok. Salmon was overcooked and the spicy chicken burger was stiff. We had to wait for a while for half of our food although it didn’t seem busy on a Friday night. The best appetizer were the fried pickles. Robbie, our waiter, was awesome. He was kind, fun, and attentive.

The service was friendly and staff consistently made rounds to check on how we were doing and enjoying our food. Worth the Drive! Local Phoenix mainstay since the 1940’s, family-owned Knock Kneed Lobster at 3202 E Washington St, Phoenix, AZ 85034, has friendly staff and ample seating in one of three rooms. Fountain drinks, beer and wine to drink. Plus – Sauce Bar! Help yourself to cocktail sauce, ketchup, good tartar sauce, and ranch against one wall. Find large stainless steel containers of malt vinegar and Louisiana hot sauce across from the register and order counter. This spot is clean! For a restaurant specializing in mostly fried foods, I couldn’t smell grease at all. Once we got our food, the grease was clean and the batter was light and crispy. All of our food was cooked perfectly. DELICIOUS. My coworker and I were talking about how much we love fried zucchini one day and she recommended this spot. So thankful that she did. The fried zucchini was next level and the ranch was really good too. BONUS- they have hush puppies on the menu! I’ve only seen these in the South. Of course, we had to try some along with the fried okra. Amazing and delicious! Fried perfectly & good flavor. Hubs said fish n chips on his top 3 list.

This was a great place to stop and grab a quick bite. From the outside it looked as if they were closed since not much movement going on however the open sign in the window proved otherwise. We pulled in to the lot which was in the back and had plenty of parking. As we entered we were surprised to see how much seating was available and the amount of people that were inside enjoying their meals. My husband and I both ordered the 3 pc fish & chips with hushpuppies. The staff was friendly, establishment was clean, atmosphere was calm and enjoyable, and the food was delicious! Whenever I am in Phoenix again, I will be stopping in for another great meal. A big thank you to this establishment for a wonderful experience.

Classic fried seafood with some baked options and a Mexican additions on the menu. Everything is good and fresh. This place is the longest running restaurant in Phoenix for a reason. Great taste. Kinda a bad neighborhood. Get the one piece meal and substitute hush puppies for the chips. Fries are just average. Get the oysters and shrimp cocktail.

Absolutely delicious!!!! I ordered a plate of fish n chips and it was absolutely delicious. It was breaded perfectly to the amount of fish that each piece contained. Each piece was a decent size and tasted great. Fish was very moist and well cooked. The “chips” we cooked very well also and were also delicious. Their customer service and the atmosphere was great. They had a fountain drink area where you could refill your drinks and also a sauce bar with tartar sauce, ketchup, ranch and cocktail sauce options so you could get as much sauce as you needed. You could even pay to take a good amount home. The tartar sauce was also absolutely delicious and some of the best I’ve ever tasted. I will be back to explore their menu.

The food was disappointing , over priced and not seasoned at all. I had the 6 piece shrimp and chips. I have never had a shrimp that was split in half and each half was sold as a over battered, rubbery shrimp. The batter was so thick around the shrimp, crispy on the outside and wet dough on the inside with a tasteless piece of rubber shrimp. The chicken strips my other family member had was ok the onion rings was ok . I will never recommend them to anyone.

    How much does seafood cost?

The cost of seafood varies significantly depending on the type of fish, the method of preparation, and the dining environment. While some items like tilapia or canned tuna are relatively inexpensive, premium options such as lobster, crab, or wild-caught salmon will command a higher price point. In a restaurant setting, your total bill will depend on whether you choose a casual eatery or a fine-dining establishment.

    Where to get good seafood?

You can find high-quality seafood at local restaurants, specialty markets, and reputable fishmongers throughout the Phoenix area. When choosing a place to eat, look for establishments that prioritize fresh sourcing and have a diverse menu of preparation styles. Checking recent customer reviews and looking for certifications of freshness can help ensure a high-quality experience.

    Is eating seafood healthy?

Yes, seafood is generally considered a very healthy addition to a balanced diet. It is an excellent source of lean protein and is often rich in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids and essential minerals like iodine and selenium. Different varieties offer various nutritional benefits, making it a versatile choice for health-conscious diners.

    What is considered seafood?

Seafood is a broad category that includes any edible aquatic-derived product, primarily fish and shellfish. This includes finfish like cod and tuna, as well as crustaceans like shrimp and lobster, and mollusks such as clams and mussels.
