We recently stayed at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge and had an outstanding experience. The highlight of the resort is definitely the pool complex. It’s beautifully maintained, offers something for everyone, and never felt overcrowded despite the size of the resort. Whether we were relaxing by the water or enjoying the lazy river, it was easy to spend the entire day outside. The food and drinks exceeded our expectations. Every meal was fresh, well prepared, and there were plenty of options throughout the property. The cocktails were excellent, and the poolside food and beverage service made it easy to enjoy the day without ever having to leave our lounge chairs. What truly set this resort apart was the service. Every employee we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely interested in making sure we had a great stay. From check-in to the restaurants, pool staff, and housekeeping, the hospitality was consistently exceptional. Overall, the JW Marriott Desert Ridge delivered a true luxury resort experience. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with fantastic pools, great food and drinks, and top-notch service, this resort is an easy recommendation. We would absolutely stay here again.

I recently toured JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa and was thoroughly impressed. This is truly one of Arizona’s premier resort destinations. The property is beautifully maintained, with stunning desert landscaping, spacious grounds, and a welcoming luxury atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The pool complex is outstanding and offers something for everyone, whether you’re looking to relax, enjoy family time, or simply soak up the Arizona sunshine. We also had the opportunity to visit several of the restaurants, and the dining options were impressive, offering a variety of experiences and exceptional service. What stood out most was the attention to detail throughout the resort. The staff were friendly and professional, the common areas were immaculate, and every part of the property reflected the quality you’d expect from a JW Marriott resort. Whether you’re planning a staycation, family getaway, golf trip, business conference, or luxury vacation, I highly recommend JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa. It’s a true Arizona gem and well deserving of 5 stars.

Lovely stay, I enjoyed the resort. The staff were very friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and not overly expensive. If you want to relax then the pool area has a nice endless pool and a lazy river. There’s also the 21+ swimming pool area. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. It’s an all around great place to stay.

5 stars all the way around. Attended a convention at the property snd it met all of my expectations. My suite was lovely overlooking the water slides and pool. Though the temps were over 115 during the day, my meetings kept me inside the cooler meeting rooms. Food quality both st the resorts restaurant and convention meals was also very good. Truly an enjoyable four days at the resort.

JW Marriott brand, in general, straddle the line between upscale and reasonable and Desert Ridge was no different. Large bathroom with separate tub and shower, spacious bedrooms with lots of sockets and USB ports, illy’s coffee pods with half and half (and not fake cream). My room had a balcony with seating. It’s a large property but they had elevators located all over so that they were easy and fast. A super large Starbucks and lots of meeting space. The staff is friendly and attentive. The water park is large and there are lots of pools and the property is kid friendly. Those are all the pros. The cons: in general, if you have a room around atrium it’s loud because they have a lot of meetings and events there and the noise travels up. The Lazy River can look like people soup on the weekend and in general Phoenix feels like an oven in June. I had spicy tuna roll take out from Kembara which was fresh but not spicy. Tia Carmen breakfast buffet is stellar! I would take my grandchildren back there or have a celebration there. The banquet food was good, too. Oh, best of all, Desert Ridge Marketplace is in walking distance but it’s too hot to walk and there is a nice Nordstrom’s Rack!!! Score!

Two-Night Stay Review We spent two nights at the hotel with a suite and adjoining room booked for our family. Unfortunately, the stay was marred by a series of significant issues. Check-In & Room Problems Checked in Friday at 4pm; waited 20-25 minutes, which staff said was common. The adjoining room wasn’t ready — we were told we’d get a call when it was. Our suite smelled strongly like something had died in it. Front desk said they’d send an ozone machine and asked us to leave for 30 minutes. We went to the pool for an hour; on the way back, we found housekeeping in our room spraying air freshener — no ozone machine had ever been sent (staff later admitted they didn’t have one). When we called about the second room, we were told it was ready, but had to go downstairs and wait in line another 10-15 minutes for the key. Safety Concern: Broken Door Lock Back in the room, my 2.5-year-old immediately ran to the sliding patio door, opened it, and started climbing on the outdoor chairs. I stopped him and discovered the door lock was broken — a serious safety issue with two young children (ages 2.5 and 4). I called the front desk immediately; they promised an immediate fix. We left for an event at 6pm hoping it would be resolved. Returned at 8pm: the smell was still there, and the lock was still broken. Requested a room change — was told none were available. I explained the safety hazard of having small children in an unsecured room; staff apologized but said there was nothing they could do, promising to move us in the morning. I ended up barricading the door with furniture overnight to keep it secure. Day Two: Still Unresolved The smell had worsened by morning — bad enough that a neighboring party staying below us also started noticing it. Requested another move; told no rooms were available yet, and we’d get a call. Went to the pool; got a call the new room was ready, but had to return to the front desk and wait another 20 minutes for the key. Told to find the bell desk ourselves to arrange luggage transfer — but the bell desk said they couldn’t do that due to liability, and I had to be present for the move. Assisted with the move myself. The bellman was also taken aback by the odor and speculated it might be related to ongoing construction. The A/C in the new room’s bedroom didn’t work either. At that point, we were done. We made due for the remainder of the stay, packed up, and checked out early the next morning. Side Note The other party traveling with us was also moved to a new room that night — but their luggage was transferred by the bellman with no one present, unlike our experience. Final Thoughts I really wanted to like this hotel, but it felt old and run-down, and the service was poor throughout our stay. One bright spot: Tia Carmen was fantastic and is highly recommended.

We stayed at the Arizona Grand Resort over Labor Day weekend and had such a great experience! We saw that they had a magician performing and fireworks shows during our stay, so we knew we had to check it out and nothing disappointed! Our room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We had a great time at the waterpark, and even though my son was just 1/4 inch too short for the waterslides, we still made the most of it and had a blast! One of the highlights was having a balcony with a view of the fireworks. Watching them right from our room was an unexpected bonus and absolutely spectacular! And of course, the magic was a huge hit with our family. We met the magician, and he completely blew our minds! He was personable, entertaining, and so engaging. We got to watch his show table-side, and we spent the entire time laughing, smiling, and watching in awe. It was such a fun family getaway that my son is already asking, “When do we get to go back?” That says it all! We can’t wait for our next stay at the Arizona Grand!

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had in while and such a shame as I was really looking forward to staying here. When we arrived, there was a line like at Disney to get to the front desk. Once we make it to the rep, they advise us our room was not prepared, mind you it was already 4:30. We leave to go run errands and they let us know our room is ready at about 6pm. We get back late at around 11. We get into the room in the Sedona building and realize it’s not the room we booked and they threw us into a wheel chair accesible room with no view other than their deck. As we get ready to get comfy my daughter pulls a clump of blonde hair from the pillows and bed sheets. As that was my last straw I call the front office and they tell me all they can do is remove the resort fee and send me the maintenance man to bring me clean sheets so I can remake the bed since housekeeping was gone for the day. I tell them if they can switch me rooms atleast and they say they are sold out. I tell them to just give me my money back. So we ended up leaving at 12 pm at night searching everywhere for a different hotel exhausted. Such a disappointment with the whole experience in general.

I loved this place! It was quite spacious and it was very clean. We had a conference here and everything was superbly done. The staff was friendly and courteous and the pools were fantastic. Speaking of rooms, they were clean and spacious. My only wish would have been a microwave, but small inconvenience for how well we were treated. If this place is not on your bucket list, put it on there. Drive a couple hours to grand canyon, petrified forest, come back for great food, wonderful pools and peaceful sleep. Bravo!

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt peaceful, luxurious, and so relaxing. Everything was beautifully maintained, clean, elegant, and gave such calming resort vibes. The spa experience itself was exceptional. The massage was incredibly relaxing, professional, and honestly one of the best spa treatments I’ve had. The staff made sure I felt comfortable the entire time and were very welcoming, attentive, and professional. The resort overall is stunning with beautiful scenery, relaxing ambiance, and such a refreshing atmosphere. It honestly felt like the perfect little escape from reality 💆‍♀️✨ If you are looking for a relaxing spa day, luxury resort vibes, and amazing customer service, I would definitely recommend visiting this place. We decided to do a last minute staycation at the AZ Grand, as we hadn’t been in years. Rooms are spacious, but could use some updating. The kids had a blast at the water park and the hubby and I enjoyed some relaxation by the adult lap pool. From the lobby bar and grill to drinks and food out by the pool, though pricey, everything was well made and delicious. The staff were very friendly and personable as well. My only complaint would be about the staff. Specifically, all the summer staff by the oasis water park. Why is there no misters, misting fans…things to not only help cool your guests during the summer heat, but your staff as well, that go above and beyond for you. While sitting at the main oasis bar, we noticed an HVAC system, but were told it hadn’t worked in years. What a shame! Treat your employees/staff well and you’ll get it back tenfold. I hope you take that into consideration and looking forward to visiting again.

The place was beautiful all around. Very quiet at night. The scenery was lovely. I took a walk early morning and during the night and it was very peaceful. The gym was pretty cool too. The kids had fun. The only issue i had was that my room was not ready at check in time and we were tired from driving into town . It was day one from our trip. But other than that no issues

We have stayed here several times over the years and it’s always enjoyable for the kids for sure. In the past I recall not sleeping very well due to the outdated rooms and hard beds. This trip we went last minute same day reservations. Upon arrival front desk was very polite and even upgraded us. We ended up on the 5th floor overlooking the lazy river and pools. Beds seemed to be a bit better but still didn’t sleep much due to AC never getting below 70 even though it said it was 60. 😅 The bed and pillows were ok, sheets were not soft but very rough. The room was clean and roomy and price point was fair in my opinion. The only issue at all was AC which I guarantee would be good for anyone else was just a bit warm for me and the shampoo bottle mounting was cracked but that’s the worst it got. Very happy with everything overall. The view was great and will attach a picture. Fireworks were awesome! Another highlight was the entertainment they brought in. Wildlife experts brought animals in for kids and adults to get up close to including turtles and an eagle but Robert the magician was amazing and left the kids in awe, he walked the pool area for hours always giving his best acts over and over and my kids kept asking for more, he was great. A couple other great people to mention was Isabella our cabana waitress was great and Ray in reservations both did an outstanding job! The cabana is nice especially on a busy hot day, a bit pricy but if you only travel a couple times a year it’s worth the splurge. Food in pool area was ok, a bit on the pricy side but I guess that’s how it goes in resorts, you get a hotdog for $15 and drinks 15$ water $4.50 although we got 12 free in the refer with the cabana the second day which was nice. Complementary cookies were good. We liked the fruit dish they gave us last time better. Pools were clean and grounds were well maintained. Night time movie was fun for the kids, still hot out but was a fun experience. Lots of shade in all areas and lots of lounge chairs, plenty of tubs for lazy river and all items looked to be in good condition. Parking can be a bit hard at this location when they are busy. Food in the lobby restaurant was good and not as expensive. Breakfast options were good and we went with just ordering plates vs the open breakfast buffet due to it being $36 adults and $24 kids although that being said it’s free for kids under 4 which was awesome! Overall it’s a great place that is run extremely well for its size. Impressed. Thanks for the memories!

Stunning. Except for the fact that breakfast only seems to be available in the private lounges, which cost extra. Not pleased with finding that out after paying approximately $450 a night for our room. Private Jacuzzi bathtub, room was spotless. Each unit has a pool and hot tub, which was also very nice and open 24 hours. Overall wonderful experience just wish they had free breakfast🤣

It’s nice for downtown Phoenix but hard to get here and back out if you are exploring the valley. The rooms are aged but in decent condition. My bathroom door wouldn’t close without extra force and the missing button made it hard to lock. Service was okay but not what you’d expect at an expensive resort like this.

This one night was not the finest of stays. I cannot hold the property accountable for one night. It has been a staple of years, decades, family buffets (back in the days), gatherings, dinners and a place of next generation memories. From check in, Leilani and Jack, were great. Tony and Rachel at the Paradise Pool were fantastic. Zach, in housekeeping, was beyond understanding. In-room dining with Ashley, Sam and Cassy (?) had patience beyond. Robert delivered food with enthusiasm and appreciation. Dane, from maintenance, provided security from an a-joining room (which was unlocked) I wasn’t aware of. I have video but won’t share. I was afraid/confused. Security was called for another reason and I do not recall his name. Yet he was stoic, patient, and there was an aura of calm around him. I will call him “Angel”. My folio was overcharged. When I called to rectify it, Ashley was very nice and spoke to the MOD and rectified it. The Biltmore is iconic, as it should be.

Superb stay. For 3 nights, Thu-Sun, everything we experienced was fantastic. Food and dining options were excellent. Amenities lavish, atmosphere welcoming and fun. Servers and staff were professional and polite! We happened to stay at the same time as multiple wedding events, which took place right outside of our room. The loud music until 10pm could make falling asleep challenging, which may not have been acceptable for some people, but we personally did not mind. Overall, great place with great amenities. Looking forward to coming back again sometime in the future!

Really a great stay. The hotel was well kept, quiet, attractive and inviting. The staff was amazing and never had a moment that someone was without a smile! Temp controls were good also… Certainly was convenient to the convention center!

I was offered an upgrade for a balcony. I don’t recommend. You couldn’t see over the ledge and because it was the 7th floor there was only a building to look at. Other than that the room was comfortable. I was overcharged for the omelet station so keep an eye on your receipt. The food is very good in the onsight restaurant. The servers were friendly and helpful. Front desk, housekeeping and the bell hop were all great. Pool is small but comfortable on a hot day. I had It to myself both times I used it.very convenient to the convention center. There is a Fry’s grocery store 2.5 blocks away of you need anything, otherwise be prepared to spend a small fortune on snacks and drinks. I would come back here.

Traveling to Phoenix in the dead of summer probably isn’t a good idea. But, staying at this hotel is. This hotel was without a doubt the highlight of our stay in Phoenix (and we liked Phoenix too!). The staff was amazing. Just a few names to mention: Michael, one of the managers, took great care of us, with great attention to detail. In the B&B Market, my man Chuy was AWESOME at the omelet station. Mike & Ali provided great service as well, and remembered our names and orders. Ellie at the front desk, along with the others we interacted with, were excellent and were so kind to our family. Everyone was so friendly, and the room was great. We’d gladly stay here again and would encourage you to do the same!

I went to visit my son, who was staying at the Hyatt for a company event. There are several parking lots relatively close but costly, especially since there are no in and out privileges. The hotel’s interior is beautifully decorated and the elevator allots scenic views. I also liked that you can’t get past the 2nd floor without using your passkey. His room had double beds that felt hard but were actually quite comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate. A huge wall screen tv with Internet access. A mini fridge. The hotel had several options within to eat. It’s central location also insured walking distance to many attractions. Overall, I loved the Hyatt Regency.

This was the most charming unique experience I have ever had. The rooms are adorable, the one ways in the parking lot and architecture was outstanding. Pools were great, there is a waterslide, and we watched a “dive in movie” anywhere you want to go through out the resort you call up the front desk and they send you a golf cart driver to shuttle you. We had Allen a handful of times and he was wonderful. The lady at the front desk for check in was so great, let us check in a little early as we had been traveling all day. Gave us all the ins and outs of the place. Explain how to get to the rooms. Our remote for the TV had no batteries we called up the front desk, matinence man came up brought a new remote, then promptly asked if everything else was OK, checked the ac and the fridge. Just wanted to make sure we were comfortable. I will say if your a real first class snotty person, this is probably not for you. But architecture lovers and lovers of the experience. This is for you. Even caught a pretty amazing storm sitting on my back porch, of the bottom floor room. We will be back for alsure! Thank you all

The rooms were nice, the architecture of the resort was interesting with lots of different buildings along the Hillside. The inside of the room were not five star because they were obvious aesthetic blemishes and the bathroom door rubbed heavily on the ground when opening. The restaurant Different Pointe of View was nice, the food was as good as expected for a restaurant of that quality but nothing special. The pools are great especially for families, I highly recommend renting a cabana.

Pleasure booking for my wife and I. Photo’s and the 4-star rating ended up being overrated. This is a 3-star hotel at best. Many issues disrupted our vacation starting with our room not being ready at 4pm. The front desk was helpful in getting us reassigned to another resort view room. Which, brings up a major issue at this hotel. Resort view is not what you think. The photo I added is our resort view of a parking lot. Second issue was the construction. It was apparent during our stay that they told the construction crew to not start before 8am. The problem was is that they showed up with their equipment unloaded machines and waited until 7:58am each day to start the concrete saws. Not a great vacation waking up hours before we wanted. My mobile phone never worked for the room access, but did for the pool gate. I will say the people working at the main pool were attentive and helpful. The managers are this property listen well, but don’t act on what they hear.

Huge shout out to Amy at the front desk who was very customer service oriented and very informative she made our stay even though it was third party so pleasant. This resort had it all and we will definitely be back we even contemplated adding another night to our stay but due to work we had to leave thank you so much Amy. Also the attendant at night sorry to forget your name but you were very kind to heat up our food even tho the microwaves were all dispersed already I made sure to let the manager know we really appreciated the gesture. Thanks also to Jeff for the timely golf cart pickups and drop offs you were also very informative and pleasant to talk too. One last shout out to Saul in housekeeping you definitely helped us figure out a few things we were wondering.

It’s not bad it’s decent. I wouldn’t call it a resort, I’d call it a hotel. It was my kiddos last weekend before school so we wanted them to enjoy and relax and this was their first time experiencing “room service” so I wanted to go to talking stick because their room service was top notch but that wasn’t a kid friendly hotel so we came to this one because it advertised a water slide and waterfalls and 7 pools so we said why not. So upon arriving, our check in process was quick and efficient. Our room was in the main building so that was good because this is indeed on a cliff so it’s like you’re either walking uphill or downhill and my husband had an ankle injury so he really couldn’t do much walking. Our room was a double bed and it was okay. Bathroom was separated from the sink which was a plus but my God was the bathroom small! No biggie we made it work. We went to the main pool with the slide, the slide was closed. It’s fine we’ll swim in the regular pool with the waterfall. Cafe was closed by 5pm so that was disappointing. After swimming we ordered room service which was the most anticipated thing for my kids. Tell me why they delivered it in to go boxes. Like where’s the real plates and silverware so they guests can enjoy the experience? Again, no biggie deal but such a disappointment. The couch was incredibly disappointing it sounded old and uncomfortable as heck. Next morning, I was so excited to go downstairs to get a coffee from their café. The barista was so nice she’s from Florida and her whole personality is the reason why the service is getting five stars but I wish the CAFE open past 12 PM we also went to point Restaurant and our waiter/host was amazing since my kids were both seven years old. He didn’t charge them and only charged me for the breakfast buffet, which I appreciate and also the other reason why the service is getting five stars if you are planning to stay in the main building, I will have just that you call in advance for transportation because it is an appeal when you go back to your room so we had to wait for 10 minutes for the cart to come down and grab us which again it’s not a big thing but when it’s 110°, you don’t wanna be walking uphill while soaking wet. This place can definitely be improved until then. I shall try another Hilton hotel their customer service, however, was top-notch. And lastly, I really think they should renovate their waterslide because that waterslide not only does it look dangerous. I wouldn’t let my kid go down that slide because it just doesn’t look right.

I have been coming here for years with my family and it never disappoints until the last couple times we stayed. Atmosphere was always so fun. There is so much to do. Lots of restaurants and entertainment close by.the many pools and waterpark were the best. Until now. The newest thing recently that has made us not want to come back again is parking fees and Internet fees have me frustrated. The resort doesn’t use the wristband anymore just a card key you use to get into your room is now also the same key to get into the pools and waterpark so that means never any parking and the pools and waterpark are so full of people you can’t enjoy it. The card key situation caused guest to bring in as many people they want to and they bring everyone. One person has one room but invited 25 people. Because of these issues there’s no parking and the pools are packed. I paid for parking while many others didn’t have to. I paid the high resort fee when others didn’t have to and still enjoyed the pools and parking. Parking was so bad tonight cars were jammed up stuck going the wrong way and people parked blocking the already tight streets and then parking in fire lanes and wherever they could. I have been here on holidays many times before with the wristbands and I had never seen it like this.i circled around for over 30 minutes and many others did to and getting angry and fights started. I had to park on the other side of the resort so far away from my room and walk because no shuttle was available. I have heart issues and I had to keep stopping to sit down because of the walking up and down the steep hills. The food and the staff are amazing and there is great service but the whole reason we came here was a letdown too many times. I kept thinking it would get better but it hasn’t.For the high prices I pay for our stay my family and I have been let down. We have multiple rooms with family here and multiple vehicles. It’s a shame because we have so many memories of our kids growing up here but things change I guess. 3 stars for the location, service and the rooms are big with separate living room and bedroom.

Originally booked a king studio and with a minor issue in the room, the team was amazing in setting as up and upgraded to one bedroom. Will definitely stay in One bedroom in future. Larger room that works better for a family of 4. King studio was still pretty spacious but probably works best for a family of 3 or a couple. Great kitchen space on the one bedroom. Washer and Dryer available in the room so helped with keeping making sure clothes was all clean. Stayed during middle of summer so suggest to go and use the pool after 6pm to stay out of the sun staff was very helpful for all questions I had. if your a golfer, you would love this place as the course is well maintained and cart hire included with Green fees. Plan to definitely stay here again. Walmart was 5 minute drive away as well as starbucks, target and heaps of restaurants. 10 to 15 minutes from Airport so short and easy drive.

My husband & I just got back from Legacy golf resort and it was a lovely week. We stayed in building 2 in a studio facing the golf course. It was a close walk to the pool, restaurant, main lobby and grills. The parking was easy and the resort was pretty quiet and beautiful. The staff was also very nice and friendly. Upon our arrival we got invited by Jeanne to a time share presentation the next day. It was actually a very positive learning experience and we’d like to thank the team ( Lexi, Alex, Alex, Michael & Pavel ) for their time. Our room was a studio with a nice balcony & a view. The set up was fantastic- with a super comfy bed, pillows ( I’d like to buy the same mattress Beautyrest ), mini kitchen, 2 sinks, bathtub and the A/C. The pool was the best part! With salt water. We swam 5 times. The food in the restaurant was great too! We ordered Turkey sandwich with fries, ranch & potato salad. Trader Joe’s and other stores were about 10 – 15 min away. Overall it was a great week ! 5 stars

A great place to stay with friends or family. The rooms were clean abd well furnished. The air conditioning was fantastic and we absolutely loved the pool and basketball court. The staff was friendly and hospitable. Service was excellent. Location was fine in a quiet secure neighborhood. We felt safe and secure and slept very well.

The hotel itself is great. Loved the amenities and features in the rooms (laundry machines, dishwasher, fridge, etc). The service left something to be desired. The front staff was not very friendly. They check you in and then immediately pass you off to another employee who is trying to upsell you and get you to participate in a sales pitch meeting “during your downtime.” And they hold your room keys hostage until they’re done with their speech, no matter how many times you say “no, thank you.”

Came here for a vacation in March and it was AMAZING! Pros: The studio room we were in was absolutely perfect for the two of us. Plenty of shower towels and pool towels. The fact it had pans and cookware was really nice too, although we didn’t use it. The pool is a salt water pool and it was gorgeous! Big enough that it didn’t feel like I was bumping shoulders with others that were relaxing there! The staff was so nice and helpful whenever we had questions about amenities and late check out which they do offer for $50 an hour. Cons: the only real con that we noticed is the fact that after 9pm, there is NOWHERE to park near a few of the buildings. It would be so helpful if they made it so that each room had one designated parking spot, so that way if you go out for any reason and get back later, you don’t have to walk from so far away to your room.

Gold Member entirely loyal to Marriot, frequent traveler. I was put in the room sharing a wall with the elevator. I view this as a low level of awareness and poor hospitality when a frequent and loyal guest is put in a room that almost certainly receives more complaints than others. Location is convenient, rooms are fine, but service is lacking. I called the front desk and a new room will be provided the following night, so two stars for service. Only one chance to make a first impression.

Stayed here while in town for a continuing education course. Overall, this was a mixed experience. There was ongoing renovation noise starting early each morning, the pool was closed, and one morning the water was unexpectedly shut off while I was in the shower. The combination of these issues made the stay more disruptive than expected, especially while attending training during the day. The room itself was clean, but felt somewhat outdated, and there was noticeable hallway noise (doors and conversations carried into the room more than expected). Service was mixed. The front desk staff was friendly and responsive, especially when addressing the issues, but restaurant service was slow and inconsistent during my stay. To their credit, once the concerns were raised, the hotel team followed up and applied a credit to the stay, which I appreciated. The location is great and very convenient to food, shopping, and nearby attractions, and I’ve generally had positive experiences with Marriott properties. However, better communication about renovations and potential disruptions ahead of time would have made a big difference. Overall, not a terrible stay, but not what I expected for the price.

This is one of my favorite Marriott properties. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The bar/restaurant has a great selection of drinks and great food. The executive lounge earns great praise as well – they’re the best!

Renaissance Marriott is consistent from city to city. Solid hotel: comfy stay, decent gym, and awesome location walkable to many eateries & points of interest. I also like that there is always a gift shop with convenience store items in case travelers forgot anything or need something like cough drops or Tylenol. This hotel was two blocks from the convention center– less than a 5 minute walk. The bathroom was a bit small due to the closet being in the bathroom. That to me is a design flaw. The rooms have a mini fridge, always a plus for leftovers or to keep drinks cool. I had a view facing the pool on a high floor. Cleaning staff did not change my trash bins for a few days even though I requested daily housecleaning. I reported it to the front desk and they promptly had someone rectify the situation. Love that the gym has a peloton bike. That’s my go to when I’m traveling for work.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! I would not recommend using the valet service at the Renaissance. The staff was unfriendly and completely unaccommodating, making what should have been a simple experience frustrating. Customer service seemed to be the last thing on their minds. Date 06/27/26 early morning. There are plenty of hotels and businesses in downtown that provide much better service and treat their guests with respect. I would recommend parking or staying elsewhere if you expect a welcoming and helpful experience.

We went to this resort as our vacation for the year. We drove from Colorado to Phoenix to stay at this place. We really enjoyed the pools and the room was very nice and clean. The property was well put together and maintained, and the staff was very helpful and brought us things as we needed them very promptly. They let us check in early for a small fee so we could go to the pool early. The staff at the pool was also very nice. They were doing construction at the time, but it really didn’t matter to me that much. However I heard other people complain. It looks like they’re adding to the property so I wouldn’t bother about it. Technically we visited in the off-season, but we got a good value from it.

A lot of the reviews seem to give it a bad rap: I’d bet these people got a cheap deal during the peak season. I went in August and had an excellent experience. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, beyond my expectations. Pool was extremely clean, staff was friendly there too. Prices were very high at pool, but you get a wristband. Go get lunch and come back. Everything was clean. Construction caused ZERO disruption to our stay. There is construction going on, but it’s nearby, and it’s not loud either.

There is a lot of construction underway here, obviously making some cool improvements and adding amenities, but it didn’t impact our stay at all. The rooms were well appointed with a comfortable king bed and a comfortable couch bed that seemed pretty new. The waterpark and pools are really fun and the gym was also great. The service was really outstanding. Take advantage of your welcome text message and keep in touch with the service staff. They’re happy to help with anything you need or any questions you have. Would definitely love to stay here again!

Stay a few night with the family here. Room is pretty good. Decent. Water park is fun. They are under construction. More fun stuff coming soon 1st night there was not very pleasant. There is a lot of disturbance. Noise and kids stomping around. The rest of the time was better after the noisy guests have left

Visited the ranch river pool via ResortPass and the Slim Pickens pool bar charged us $427 on a $210 bill and said the difference would be credited back to us in a few days! The waitress should’ve suggested separate checks from the beginning but instead told us it’d be no problem to split our check three ways. The property is very old and run down.

The place is not worth the price it charges. The advertised mountain view is significantly overstated and does not justify the premium. The rooms are new and clean, but ours had a noticeable swimming-pool-like smell. Housekeeping arrived around 8:00 AM, which felt unnecessarily early and intrusive. There was also ongoing construction, resulting in considerable noise during the stay. The food was mediocre, and the location is inconvenient, as the property is relatively far from most attractions and services. Overall, while the rooms are modern and clean, the experience did not match the price or expectations.

I had a very enjoyable stay at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix during my visit to Arizona. Located in the heart of downtown Phoenix, the hotel offers a stylish and vibrant atmosphere with easy access to restaurants, entertainment, and sporting venues nearby. From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, welcoming, and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite, which I truly appreciated. The room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed, making my stay even more enjoyable. The staff consistently went out of their way to ensure everything was taken care of, and their genuine hospitality made a lasting impression. Breakfast was a relaxing start to the day, with a freshly prepared bagel sandwich, fresh fruits, and a well-crafted cocktail. The hotel’s lobby and bar area also provided a lively yet comfortable setting to unwind. The only minor challenge was the self-parking arrangement. It was a little complicated to locate the parking entrance initially, and finding the way from the garage back to the hotel took some time. Better signage would certainly help first-time visitors. Overall, the excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and thoughtful hospitality made this a memorable stay. I would gladly return to Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish downtown Phoenix experience.

Luxurious, clean, actual pet (CAT) friendly Happy we chose this hotel for our 2 night stay in Phoenix. We have been traveling for over a month now and had some bad hotels for a big price (San Francisco, Yellowstone) but this one was definitely in our top 3 best hotels (because I can’t chose between the best 3). It’s so clean in the rooms and the building, even the pet rooms are nice and we had some very smelly ones before (thanks to dogs). Our cats loved it here as well!!! The pool was amazing. Very busy thru out the day so best to go in the evenings. We haven’t tried the restaurant but the bar played nice music. We would 100% come back! Location is great, in the middle of downtown with lots of restaurants around. Service was nice too! The valet guy helped us with luggage which no one at the other hotels did. Great price for a hotel like this Ps: get your iced coffee from Ingo’s Tasty Food in the same street, it was my fav this whole month long roadtrip. I miss it already Their troubadour sandwich was amazing too

We stayed at the Kimpton for a long weekend getaway and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were in Phoenix celebrating a belated birthday, exploring the city, and planning a hike up Camelback Mountain, so having a great hotel made the trip even better. We arrived a few hours before check-in expecting to leave our bags, but were pleasantly surprised when our room was ready early. We were also upgraded, which was a wonderful bonus. The front desk team was welcoming and genuinely friendly throughout our stay. A special thank you to Donna for the thoughtful surprise of chocolate-dipped strawberries delivered to our room. We loved the rooftop pool, appreciated access to the full gym next door, and enjoyed the complimentary morning coffee and evening cocktail hour. It’s the little touches that make a stay memorable, and this hotel has plenty of them. My husband and I travel often, and while we’re always looking for good value, great service is what keeps us coming back. The Kimpton delivered on both. We would happily stay here again on our next trip to Phoenix.

If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would! We chose Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix as the host hotel for our wedding weekend, reserved a room block for our guests, and stayed in the Presidential Suite, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived until the day we checked out, every single staff member made us feel genuinely welcomed and celebrated. The entire team was incredibly friendly, professional, and eager to help with anything we needed. They truly went above and beyond to make one of the most important weekends of our lives feel seamless and unforgettable. The hotel itself is beautiful, impeccably maintained, and located in the perfect spot with easy access to everything downtown Phoenix has to offer. Our Presidential Suite was stunning and made our wedding weekend even more special. What meant the most to us was hearing the feedback from our wedding guests. Every guest who stayed at the hotel had wonderful things to say about their experience, from the comfortable accommodations to the exceptional customer service to the amazing food! So many people commented on how kind, welcoming, and attentive the staff was throughout their stay. Planning a wedding comes with plenty of stress, but the team at Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix made the hotel portion effortless. We are incredibly grateful for the care, hospitality, and genuine kindness shown to us, our families, and our friends. Thank you for helping make our wedding weekend so memorable. We will always look back on our stay with the fondest memories, and we can’t wait to return!

Admittedly, I’ve never heard of this hotel. But, its clearly a hidden gem. Besides spacious rooms and their pool area one of the nicest I’ve enjoyed. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area’s history and that includes the seedy side. I truly enjoyed my stay and the food was top-notch. I always read reviews before booking, just to get an idea of what to expect, although I still use my own judgment since experiences can be subjective. I was extremely pleased with my stay. I’ve been on a road trip through multiple states, and so far this hotel has been the best value for my money by far. The pool area alone, with the couches and overall atmosphere, was worth it. My room was super clean, comfortable, and up to date; nothing like some of the negative reviews I had read beforehand. Of course, I understand not every room may be in the exact same condition, but mine was definitely not subpar. The staff was amazing throughout my stay. There were no vending machines, but I was offered bottled water instead, which was perfectly fine. There was also plenty of parking available. The restaurant seemed fairly new, as the staff didn’t appear fully familiar with the menu yet, but that was a minor detail overall. I’ve paid much more for far less elsewhere. Super satisfied with my stay.

Rooms feel like a Mexican beach hotel from 1975. All hard surfaces. Door had a large gap at the bottom that let light through making sleep difficult. Breakfast was included with the room and prepared fresh in the hotel restaurant. Breakfast was by far the best part of the stay but the dining area is plagued by blinding morning sun through large windows with no curtain for protection .

This place is a gem and now it’s getting a little polish. 1960s style courtyard hotel with hottub and pool. It is well staffed with room and pool area cleaning crew plus a friendly front desk and restaurant staff. People matter at hotels these days. This feels like a team. Located within 10 minutes of the Phoenix Art Museum and Churn, one of the best ice cream shops I’ve ever tried. Clean rooms and good service. The cleaning lady was very kind and gave us extra towels when we asked for them. She went above and beyond and tidied up the bathroom for us as well. Pool is well maintained though it was too hot for me to try out myself. The Lazy Bee spa is also an excellent little spot, though it was all booked out.

Frequently asked questions about resorts in Phoenix

    How much do resorts cost?

The cost of staying at a resort varies significantly depending on the amenities, location, and level of luxury provided. Prices can range from mid-range options to high-end luxury experiences, often influenced by seasonal demand and the specific services included in the package. When budgeting, consider that many resorts offer all-inclusive options or additional fees for spa services, dining, and activities.

How do you choose a resort?

Choosing the right resort involves identifying your primary goals, such as relaxation, adventure, or specific family activities. You should evaluate the distance from your starting point, the variety of on-site facilities, and the types of amenities offered to ensure they align with your needs. Comparing different types of accommodations, such as those tailored for skiing or general leisure, will help you find the best fit for your trip.

What are the benefits of staying at a resort?

The primary benefit of a resort is the convenience of having diverse amenities, dining, and entertainment options located in one centralized location. These destinations often provide a comprehensive experience that includes recreational activities, organized tours, and specialized services that are not typically available at standard hotels. They are designed to provide a full vacation experience where guests can stay on-site for the duration of their trip.
