⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was such a fun date night! The class had the perfect balance of meeting new people, learning how to cook something new, and picking up a few techniques we’ll actually use at home. It never felt intimidating—just relaxed, engaging, and enjoyable. Our chef did a fantastic job of keeping things light and fun while making sure everyone ended up with an incredible meal. The instruction was easy to follow, and there was plenty of food—we definitely didn’t leave hungry! The only thing I would change is being able to bring a bottle of wine or purchase a drink during the class. I know that’s probably outside of the staff’s control, but it would make an already great experience even better. Overall, this was a 10/10 date night, and we’d absolutely come back for another class. Thanks for such a memorable evening!

Best baking class! Chef Avenly was an awesome instructor. She was very skilled, warm and patient and also gave great tips. I honestly didn’t expect to ever make croissants ever again, I merely agreed to this class to treat my niece for her birthday (and she picked it out) but I do have to say Chef absolutely taught well enough to give me the confidence to make these again. So great job! Side note, they have an awesome Jura and we class folks got to have so many espressos during class .. The best!

I took my mom here for a pastry class as a birthday present and it was absolutely wonderful! The chef was incredibly kind and helpful and the class zoomed by. Everything we made was delicious and above my expectations, and they hand out the recipes at the end for you to take home! 10/10 worth the price and will absolutely be coming back when the time arises. I’d recommend Sur La Table to everyone and anyone.

Lara and Darla were terrific! Friendly and knowledgeable. They didn’t go too fast and they didn’t go too slow and they made sure to give everybody individual attention while they cooked! They even dressed for the theme of Fourth of July! They also helped some of us accommodate some of our dietary restrictions too!

We attended a cooking class last night. Surf and Turf was the menu. Lanie Will and Juliette helped make it the best time. All of the students made it so much fun. Our table mates Matt and Brady were a nice young couple. We had a blast and will be back again. Thank you SLT.

What a fun, engaging party! We had 9 girls, ages 6-7 and it was perfect. They had so much fun and each had plenty of opportunities to cook stir dip and pour. I learned a few new baking tips! The colorful, personalized aprons were adorable and the treats were delicious. Thank you Spilled Batter!

We had a fabulous experience with Spilled Batter. We worked with them for our daughter’s 7th birthday. Sally was always extremely responsive and easy to communicate with. The party was so much fun for our daughter and her friends. The teachers did a great job coaching the kids through making cupcakes and pizza from scratch. Highly recommended and would work with them again in a heartbeat!

Amazing birthday party!! We did the rainbow pizza and cupcake. Place was very cute and decorations not needed. We did bring a blow up balloon and a sign and that was it for indoors and a yard sign outside. Outside is a picnic area that is in the shade. We brought appetizers and sandwiches for the parents and different beverages. We brought our own cutlery and plates to keep it easy. Only complaint is that on the day Phx decided to go to 100 degrees when it has been sitting at 80 all week 😀

We booked a party for my daughter’s 10th birthday and was FABULOUS!!!! I heard about Spilled Butter from my kids classmates (they had their parties there too before, so I decided to try) Sally contacted me right away to give me the full information, price is very reasonable (definitely worth it) and the day of the event they set up everything for us, the place is cute, very clean and the chef is super nice, friendly and professional. The girls had so much fun making pizza and s’mores bars, after all I asked my daughter how she rates her birthday party at Spilled Butter and she said: from 1 to 10 I think is a 1000 (and we totally agree with her). Thank you so much for making this day so special and stress free for the parents (that was MY FAVORITE PART)😊. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!

This was an incredible experience. I loved every moment of it. I would highly recommend it and would take it again. I feel confident moving forward to make my own sourdough. Nicole is fantastic, and I really appreciated watching her show the group how to do everything. I honestly could not tell that the class was over four hours long. It is so fun and immersive that the time flies by. The group setting and all the questions asked really helped me gain clarity and answered my questions as well. Lastly, the bread was phenomenal.

10/10 experience! For the Love of Sourdough‘s beginner class was amazing!! Not only did I learn so much about the art and science of sourdough making, the class was a lot of fun! Nicole is so knowledgeable and she provided a warm and safe space for learning. Of course the best part was tasting the sourdough we baked. I’m so excited to start my sourdough journey! Thank you so much to Nicole for being a great teacher and hostess 🙂

I recently took a “Sourdough for Beginners” Class by Nicole and she was amazing. She provided me with the knowledge and tools to bake expert quality loaves (despite my previous failed attempts going at it alone). Pictured is my first loaf (made completely independently after I took the class).

My husband and I took this beginner sourdough class, and it exceeded our expectations! The instructor made everything easy to understand, breaking the process down step by step so even complete beginners could feel confident. We came home excited to try it on our own, we just baked our very first loaf, it came out absolutely perfect! We never thought we’d be able to make beautiful homemade sourdough after just one class. If you’ve ever wanted to learn sourdough but felt intimidated, this class is 100% worth it. The instruction, hands-on experience, and encouragement gave us everything we needed to be successful. We highly recommend it to anyone wanting to start their sourdough journey!

I attended Nicole’s sourdough school, and I’m so glad I did! After trying for months, I just couldn’t fully understand sourdough. I visited dozens of websites, bought cookbooks, watched You Tube videos, and nothing clicked. Since the school, I feel more confident in my abilities. Nicole explained everything well and in a way I can absorb. Having other students in the class was helpful because of all the questions that came up. I took detailed notes. Nicole had her kitchen set up beautifully. All materials were laid out for class and included little gifts! We tried hands-on techniques and learned that there are many “fixes” if you feel like you messed up. The class had an en easy flow and felt comfortable. As a bonus, Leslie from Oatman Farms was in attendance, and she gave us an overview of their wheat farming process. After learning from Leslie, I have decided to buy Oatman Farms flour for my future baking. When we were tasting fresh-baked sourdough, Nicole shared a surprising twist. We tried our toasted bread topped with a sprinkle of lemon rosemary salt! Yep, sounds odd, but it was remarkable! Last night, I made a batch of lemon rosemary salt. I loved it so much! My husband was reluctant to try it, but he thought it was delicious. I brought home a beautiful loaf of sourdough that I created and am so proud. It is the best tasting, best texture bread I have ever tried! Students also took home sourdough starter, and I fed mine this morning. I feel really hopeful about it. My previous starters look anemic compared to Nicole’s starter. We also took home dough. My oven is broken, so Nicole suggested I use it for pizza dough. I’m doing that today. I also found a recipe for slow cooker/crock pot sourdough loaf that I am going to try. I’m really looking forward to my sourdough adventures! If you’re on the fence about trying sourdough, take Nicole’s class. It’s the best gift you can give yourself.

Druw & Ashlee were a delight to have in our home! Druw had no problem with the menu I had selected & the special requests that I had. Everything was made from scratch and was absolutely delish. It was an intimate evening for just my hubs n I, celebrating our 1st Dateaversery, 14yrs ago. Hubs had just gotten a new knew & I had just gotten 2 new hips so our mobility was limited. We always celebrate our 1st date, but wasn’t really able to go out to do so this year, so we hired Druw & we’re so glad we did! Not only a great chef, but very personable as well. He brought absolutely everything from garnishes to cookware & even plates & platters! Price for the food & his talent was very reasonable ta boot! Wonderful experience and looking forward to engaging in his services again.

We had the absolute BEST experience with Chef Druw for my birthday, and I honestly can’t recommend him enough. My wife surprised me with a private cooking class, and from start to finish, Chef Druw made the entire night unforgettable. He’s not only incredibly professional, but he instantly makes you feel comfortable—like you’re cooking with a friend you’ve known for years. His passion for food shines through in everything he does, and his sense of humor made the night even more fun. The food… unreal. We made blackened shrimp with andouille sausage over fettuccine in a Cajun cream sauce that was next level—perfectly seasoned and clearly made with love. He also prepared a honey garlic salmon that was absolutely to die for. And to top it all off, he made a homemade cheesecake for my birthday that was seriously incredible. What really stood out was his attention to detail and how thoughtfully he curated the menu to make sure we loved everything. Throughout the night, we shared stories, laughed a ton, and just had an all-around amazing time. It didn’t feel like a formal class—it felt like a memorable experience with great food and even better company. If you’re looking for a private chef—whether it’s for an intimate dinner, a special occasion, or even a larger event—Chef Druw is your guy. His food is outstanding, and his warm, infectious personality is truly the cherry on top. I’m so grateful he made my birthday so special. 10/10 would book again.

We had an incredible private cooking experience with Chef Druw and can’t recommend him enough. From the very beginning, communication was seamless—he was responsive, thoughtful, and brought such a warm, friendly energy that immediately made us feel comfortable inviting him into our space. He worked with me to create a custom menu inspired by my wife’s East Texas roots, which made the whole evening feel really personal and special. The menu was amazing: jumbo blackened shrimp and smoked andouille sausage over fettuccine with a rich Cajun cream sauce, paired with garlic pan-fried green beans. As if that wasn’t enough, he surprised us with a honey garlic salmon dish that was absolutely delicious. And dessert? A perfectly executed cheesecake—beautiful presentation, creamy, light, and just outstanding. Chef Druw truly took care of everything. He brought all the ingredients and equipment, handled setup, and guided us through the cooking process in a way that was both fun and informative. He explained not just what we were doing, but why, which made it feel like a real learning experience rather than just a meal. He even kept the drinks flowing all night, which was a great touch. When it came time to eat, he plated everything beautifully like a restaurant-quality presentation. While we enjoyed dinner, he cleaned the kitchen and packed up a generous amount of leftovers for us to enjoy later—such an appreciated detail. Beyond the incredible food and professionalism, Chef Druw is just a genuinely great person to spend time with. The energy he brought over the phone is exactly who he was in person—kind, engaging, and easy to connect with. If you’re considering a private cooking experience, don’t hesitate—Chef Druw will exceed your expectations.

I absolutely love working with Brian and his team. I have had the pleasure of working with Brian in 3 different events over the years, from my best friend’s bachelorette where Brian catered her entire weekend worth of amazing food; then my Father’s 75th birthday party with an elegant plated dinner for my family; and finally again, he came through for my best friend’s baby shower (full circle)! Brian has matched me with an amazing chef each time, curating an awesome experience. He goes above and beyond, running to grocery stores during events to make sure me (the host) is not stressed. He gave an awesome whiskey tasting once, and then a mimosa bar. He matched my theme, my colors, and always checks in to make sure you have everything. And before you know it, the entire kitchen is cleaned and they’re out the door. Full service beyond measure and worth every penny. My family and I think of Brian and Monique as friends now, and I highly recommend you use them for your next event!! You will not be disappointed!

We hired Driscoll Cuisine and Cocktail Concepts to host a cooking class and dinner for my husband’s birthday in our home. The experience was truly phenomenal. Chefs Brian and Steven are experts at their craft and really dove into the details behind the dishes we cooked while delivering a fun, relaxed environment. The food was incredible and the service seamless, despite never having been to our house and catering to 9 guests! The only thing we will do differently next time is tweak the flow to have light snacks and appetizers available to our guests first thing because the cooking demonstration took a bit longer than I anticipated and we didn’t eat beforehand. We will be hiring and having Brian’s team over many more times in the future and are already planning our next event!

For my birthday, three of my friends and I decided to take the Summer Farewell class with Maggie in September. We had such a good time! Maggie is down to earth and so welcoming and knowledgeable. It was a great setting for the cooking class and just the right class size. Maggie had great tips to share and I think the best part was feeling so “at home” in her home when we sat down to eat the meal we all prepared. Thank you so much, I look forward to the next time!

WS is my favorite place to purchase items for my kitchen, and this location at the Biltmore is wonderful. The staff is super friendly, the inventory is vast and I always find something fun to buy. Holiday time is the best here! But really anytime is a great time to shop at WS.

This kitchen goods retailer (local or national) may not be cheap, but you know you’re going to get quality inside, outside and all the way around! We have yet to find another retailer with the diverse, utilitarian and quality product lines offered. Both my wife and I enjoy cooking and are always on the lookout for kitchen quality stuff. We don’t go into fads and one-offs, which Williams-Sonoma does not push, but for lifelong type utensils and equipment. When looking for THE item for the kitchen, here’s where we go.

Bought a tin of cookies to celebrate the Lunar New Year and the tin depicts a dragon which was last years, this year is a Horse. Called to return them after having them for 2 hrs, unopened and was told ‘no’. Seems to me as though they are selling last years product whilst advertising it a this years Lunar New Year.

Williams-Sonoma offers a wide selection of beautiful and high-quality kitchenware and dining sets. The store is well-organized and clean, making it easy to browse through their products. However, the prices of their products can be quite steep, making it less accessible for some shoppers. Additionally, the customer service experience can be hit or miss, with some staff being friendly and helpful while others are less attentive. Overall, while Williams-Sonoma has some great products, the high prices and inconsistent customer service may not be worth it for everyone.

Thank you to everyone that helped me while I was looking to buy a new coffee maker for Father’s Day. I didn’t realize how many options there are these days! The two sales ladies took time to explain all the details of each and asked me questions that made me feel comfortable with this purchase. My husband was thrilled and I will definitely be back for other supplies for our new coffee maker.

I purchased the three-piece soap with stainless steel caddy online. I am very pleased with the unit and think it was worth the money. I picked the pink grapefruit and it does refresh you.

Honestly, I had great expectations about this program. My expectations have now been crushed. I seriously can not believe that this company rejected a disabled person over a liability issue. This person was in the orientation and didn’t even get a full chance to prove themselves. They were called out and this exchange was done in front of the whole class of students. I will also stop my donations and will be going to other non-profit programs that follow the law. I will not refer this program anymore. I only am giving one star because I have to in order to post.

Frequently asked questions about cooking schools in Phoenix

How much is a cooking school or cooking class?

The cost of culinary education varies significantly depending on whether you are enrolling in a single recreational class or a comprehensive professional program. Individual cooking classes in the Phoenix area typically range from a few dozen to over a hundred dollars depending on the complexity of the meal and the ingredients used. Full-time culinary school programs involve much higher tuition fees that cover professional certifications, specialized equipment, and intensive hands-on training.

What is a cooking school or cookery school?

A cooking school is an educational institution where students learn culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen management. These schools range from community-based centers offering hobbyist workshops to accredited vocational institutions providing professional culinary degrees. Depending on your goals, you can choose between short-term classes focused on specific cuisines or long-term programs that provide a deep dive into the culinary arts.

What are the benefits of taking cooking classes?

Taking cooking classes provides practical skills that improve your ability to prepare healthy, delicious meals at home. Students often benefit from learning professional knife skills, understanding flavor profiles, and discovering time-saving techniques that are difficult to master through solo practice. These classes also offer a social environment to explore different cultures and culinary traditions through food.

Is a chef school or baking school worth it?

Whether culinary school is worth it depends entirely on your personal career goals and desired level of expertise. For those looking to turn professional cooking into a career, a formal school provides networking, industry-standard training, and a recognized credential. For those seeking a hobby, a shorter certificate or a series of specialized baking classes may provide the necessary skills without the time and financial commitment of a full degree.
