Desert Botanical Garden is a well laid out desert garden experience. There is a lot of signage for directions and explanations of plants. I just happen to be here in the summer so expect the heat. The gardens close between 1pm and 5 pm during peak temperatures in the summer. However, your paid entry price in the morning will allow you to return in the evening. Just keep the receipt. During the summer, there is an “after dark” shimmering light display along some paths. The gardens also offer an on site restaurant “Gertrude’s” and a gift shop. This is a great place for Botanical garden enthusiasts.

We stopped here during our last day in Phoenix and came in the early morning. We came in the middle of August. We were impressed by the easy navigation of the gardens, but a couple of the spots were closed unfortunately. I loved getting to see all of the native plants and cacti. There was such a large variety. We also saw a number of cool animals such as ground squirrels, a roadrunner, birds, butterflies, and tons of quail. They had a number of water stations which was appreciated and a cooling center which was a great stop towards the end. Overall very well maintained and kind staff. For a botanical garden, they also had a pretty good gift shop where we picked up a couple things.

Beautiful setting. A bit pricey considering you’re walking around the same scenery after awhile but it is beautiful and I’m sure the costs are up there. I’d recommend booking ahead of time on their website to reserve a spot. Gretchen’s restaurant (on site) smelled amazing too! The park also has a nice little gift shop

The Desert Botanical Garden is one of my favorite places in the Valley. The plants are absolutely beautiful, and there is always something interesting to see no matter what time of year you visit. As a photographer, I love all the textures, colors, and unique Arizona scenery. It’s a gorgeous spot for senior portraits and family photos, but it’s also just a great place to slow down and enjoy nature. If you’re visiting Phoenix or looking for something different to do locally, I highly recommend spending a few hours here. And don’t forget your camera—you’ll leave with plenty of beautiful photos.

One of the best botanical gardens I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. Went on a Wednesday evening, bought tickets there, no wait. Well maintained, friendly check in, and rich in wild life…. I loved seeing all the different kinds of cacti and plants. Saw bunnies, snakes, roadrunners, and many kinds of birds. Sunset was absolutely beautiful and loved seeing how the plants lit up at night. So beautiful. I will be visiting again!

Came here for the night lights in July and it was amazing. The way well placed lighting can showcase, textures and aspects of the plants is not to be understated. The color palette is definitely a bit psychedelic, which gives it a very dreamy feel. Artfully built grounds that are just beautiful to walk around and even during the day and a really fantastic variety of desert adapted plants from around the world with good interpretation signs about the differences.

Would absolutely recommend a trip to the desert botanical garden! I was visiting AZ for a short two day trip and this was a really nice way to experience and learn about some of the native Arizona vegetation all in one place. Chihuly glass is an added bonus – I just love those art pieces! Even more beautiful seeing them lit up at night on the way out. Parking wasn’t hard to find and it was free. We did book in advance, but probably didn’t need to based on the crowd level when we went around 6pm. Definitely worth the visit!!

This place is huge! Plan to spend at least a couple hours here. It’s an immersive experience unlike any museum I’ve ever visited. The headset connects to each exhibit and plays music of the instruments being displayed. I learned so much about musical instruments, geography, music history, and culture. Lots of staff available on the floor to answer questions, troubleshoot headsets, give directions, etc. Once we made it through the top floor we thought we were finished but the really cool exhibits were still yet to be seen. On the first floor there was a special exhibit of specific musical artists and a room full of instruments to touch and play. Very noisy in there but very fun. Awesome gift shop too! Highly recommend stopping by if you are in Phoenix, but don’t rush through it! So glad we visited this museum. Great way to escape the heat.

We live here in Phoenix close to the MIM ( Musical Instrument Museum). We will take friends through the museum while visiting us. People say this museum features an extensive collection of musical instruments from around the world, with interactive exhibits and a hands-on room where visitors can play instruments. They also highlight the excellent acoustics in the concert venue and the knowledgeable, friendly staff. The MIM has had over 365 different musical artists and genres this past year alone.Just to mention the cafe offers great international food and that the museum provides a great value, often requiring more than one visit to see everything. We went to see Jazz artist Kirk Whalum Friday, July 31, 2026. Fantastic. Terrific show. It is wonderful to see the artist in person versus hearing his music on Amazon Music channel. Kirk is professional, courteous, and extremely personable with his audience. He starts and finishes the show playing the Alto Sax through the aisles of the audience. Highly recommend this show as well the variety of concerts offered.

Wife and myself attended a concert recently. We arrived up top and got tshirts and a couple drinks. We had easy access into our event and Ramon in section 101 pointed us to our seats. We sat down and a very nice lady came up to us and checked our tickets. Erica had pointed out that we might be in the wrong seats. I was shocked and said I don’t think so. She said please sir follow me. As my wife and I followed her she explained to us that we had VIP access. We where escorted to get wristbands and offered complimentary dinner, snacks and drinks including alcohol. I was in shock and so very grateful Erica pointed this out to us and showed us the private bar area. As we arrived in the club we met with Kym an amazing gentleman with a smile and expertise on what we have access to and letting us know times of when to go see the bands play. As we made our way back to our seats after a couple drinks we met Adam at the aisle for our seats, he pointed a light for us so that we didnt trip on the stairs. Everyone was very accommodating and gracious with my wife and I. We are so very lucky to have had this experience and the staff made it absolutely wonderful for us. Also if you are in the club upstairs Janai makes the best drinks and has a great personality. Very wonderful time anx experience overall. I cant wait to go back and see them all again.

The Styx and Chicago concert was great. I initially had trouble locating my seat but there were plenty of staff on hand. They even assisted with a spill and upgraded the person that was most affected which was great because the guy next to me was bigger than his seat and so am I so I ended up moving one row forward and had plenty of room.

The audio quality in this venue was horrible. Normal speaking, such as introduction of members of the band, was barely understandable due to the echo. Because our seats were very close to the highest possible and to the side, the rigging for the lighting partially obstructed our view of the stage and screen behind the performers.

This was my qst time here. This is a great venue to go watch an event. Tge light rail down made it easy access. The entrance was effortless getting into the area. Plenty of great things to eat on our way to the seats. I would go back here in a heart beat. Go check it out.

The whole purpose of our visit to Phoenix was to go to a Mercury game at the Mortgage Matchup Center, and WOW, did we get the full experience! My friend has been a season ticket holder for years, so it was really fun to finally experience all the excitement with her. When we arrived, we dropped our car off at valet and headed inside. The process was incredibly quick, and we were inside almost immediately. Of course, the first thing we had to do was visit the team store. There were SO many options for both the Suns and the Mercury, so it was definitely worth checking out. From there, we headed to Club Gila River, which was included with our seats. They had beer, wine, Aquafina, and soft drinks available. The Aquafina came in cans, which I thought was interesting because I was expecting it to be carbonated for some reason, but it was just regular water—and honestly, it was delicious! Then came the food. There was a hot dog and salad bar, plus a hot food station with ribs, veggie pasta—which was my favorite—pot roast, and mashed potatoes. They even had homemade pizza! And then there was the dessert bar. Naturally, we had to get one of everything and have a little taste test, ranking everything from favorite to least favorite. The sea salt chocolate chip cookie was my favorite, while everyone else at the table seemed to love the matcha tiramisu. Either way, we definitely did not leave hungry! After filling our bellies, we headed to our seats—and they were COURTSIDE!!! Talk about an experience! The opposing team would walk right past us as they came out, and they were all giving us high fives as they passed. The Mercury warmed up at the basket right in front of us, so we got to see the players incredibly close. It was such a cool experience that you simply can’t get from the upper levels. The dance team stood right behind us, so we learned all the chants and got to participate in everything happening around us. I absolutely loved the atmosphere. They had the Golden Grannies dancing, an exercise studio group performing, and so many different people getting involved. It really felt like it didn’t matter your age, your body type, or anything else—they were celebrating EVERYONE. We even got to see Scorch, the mascot, come by. He was so much fun and even participated in the dunking during a break in play. And then, to make the night even better, the Mercury WON! We got to be part of the celebration before heading back to our car. Thankfully, we barely had to wait for the valet, which was especially appreciated because it was HOT outside. Overall, this was an AWESOME experience, and honestly, I don’t think anything will ever top it! From the food and entertainment to being courtside and getting high fives from the players, it was such a fun and memorable night. Thank you to Mortgage Matchup Center for creating such an energetic, welcoming place to host WNBA games and for making everyone feel like they’re part of the experience. This was definitely a night I won’t forget!

Had an absolute blast here! We sat in the lawn area, and the view of the stage was still perfect, plus the sound was incredible. The energy of the crowd was unmatched. I traveled to see the Ne-Yo and Akon concert and was impressed with the Amphitheater. The parking situation was well thought out and allowed us to leave from a variety of different gates. We waited a short amount of time to leave in comparison to other venues I’ve been to. The weather was brutally hot, but the misting stations make the wait bearable for those unfamiliar with that type of heat (me). The food and drinks were good and prices were costly, as they usually are at concerts. The seating allows for a variety of budgets to be able to see the shows, with lawn seating and optional chair rentals to near stage seating. Overall I am impressed with the Amphitheater and enjoyed the concert so much.

Been going to this venue since it opened! Great acoustics and the venue is modern! Very professional staff and they deliver an amazing experience for everything from rap(Pusha T) to rock(Modest Mouse) music. Just went on 3/31 to see Los Growlers aka The Growlers ;)! Place is one of my favorite’s because it feels very intimate and there is not a bad spot jn the house 💯. I say spot because there are no seats except for the Mezzanine level so if you are handicapped or unable to stand keep that in mind. Also on that note you access the Mezzanine level via stairs and I didn’t see any lifts but I would ask the box office regarding those accommodations. Have Blast and also consider going to Ziggy’s Pizza next to it🍕 before the show they have excellent pizza and a very cool hidden bar you get to by going through a “speakeasy” style door by the restrooms. Enjoy and make lifelong memories!

I stopped by Culinary Dropout on 7th Street after work for a solo happy hour and had such a great experience. I grabbed a seat at the bar, and Ms.Ronnie made the entire visit exceptional with friendly, attentive service and great recommendations. The happy hour menu was fantastic. I ordered the Maui Wowie, an Old Fashioned, the crispy Brussels sprouts, and the crunchy chicken tacos, and every single item was delicious. The drinks were well-balanced, flavorful, and perfectly made, while the food was fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor. The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for unwinding after a long workday. Even dining alone felt enjoyable thanks to the great service and upbeat vibe. I was blessed to have lunch today with Jeff at Culinary Dropout on 7th street in Phoenix. The moment I walked in I felt a cohesive dynamic and positive energy. The industrial aesthetics motivated me to pick up a camera and share this place with the community. First, the entire restaurant is an open floor plan and the central dining area feels like you’re dining with family and friends; everyone was delighted to be there, and the chatter, smiles and laughter proved it. The ambient lighting sets a tone that transforms your dining experience to a memorable one. The entire staff works together to make sure everyone leaves satisfied. During my time spent, I noticed from the bartenders to the managers everyone shared in all the responsibilities from start to finish. I was delighted to see the servers and bartenders taking the orders and the managers expedited the meals and wished everyone a fine dining experience. The entire process from start to finish worked like a well-oiled machine; never did I hear anyone complain, and everyone left satisfied including us. The folks here at Culinary Dropout deliver a dining experience like no other restaurant does. Next, the food was delicious. We split a Chicken Caesar salad and ordered the Hot Wings. The chicken in the salad was juicy and charred to perfection the entire salad has a zest that bites the inside of your cheeks. The wings were a perfect balance of sweet, tangy and hot. The ice tea was fresh brewed and left me wanting more. I want to have brunch here because they serve Banana Bread French toast. How fabulous does that sound. To the entire staff at Culinary Dropout on 7th street, thank you for a memorable experience. You folks understand the art of service and it shows. A special thank you to Dustin for attending us from start to finish. See you folks soon.

Great place to see a show. Intimate and well thought out. Fully staffed, full size bars on both ends of the venue make getting a drink quick. Taco bar outside was good. Sound is good and the lights are pretty dated but I do not know if those things are the responsibility of the house or band.

such a cool venue, i’ve seen all my favorite smaller artists here. the under 21 section can be a little frustrating when it comes to the amount of space available in the venue, but it obviously has its purpose for being there.

A friend invited us last minute to “One Night Only” at Crescent Ballroom, and the concept was genuinely fun: musicians sign up, get paired with other artists at random, and perform three original songs plus one cover for a single night. The venue itself is intimate and it filled up fast—expect limited room to move, a small stadium-style seating area toward the back, and open standing room up front. They do have a bar inside and another outside, which helps, but it was still pretty crowded. Overall, an okay experience that was elevated by the creativity of the show. I’d be interested to come back for a different act to see if the crowding and flow feel the same or if it was just the nature of this event.

Not a good experience me and my girlfriend didn’t get to go inside because apparently it’s a 21+ event but my ticket didn’t say that anywhere. The entrance security was giving us a hard time when I explained multiple time and even let him touch my phone to look at the ticket and zoom in to he fine print and he still couldn’t find anything that said to bring an ID or a 21+ event. This was for a STFKR concert that was being hosted here at the crescent ballroom. Please do better next time for future concert attendees.

Super intimate venue to see your favorite up and coming artists. I’ve done meet and greets or come just for the show, and I still definitely recommend buying advanced entry. The line can get pretty long. It is downtown, so parking can be challenging. The venue is ice cold inside, so if you’re not directly in front of the artist dancing your heart out, you will get chilly. Bar is quick and makes a great amaretto sour. Merch desk is perfectly located, and I’ve never had to wait long. The bathroom is pretty tiny, and a line can develop, but it’s not too terrible. Sound is fantastic! Even at the back of the bleachers, you are ridiculously close to the artist.

Was a nice place friendly staff and was able to get the drink of my choice. Also came for a certain band in person and it was great.

A last-minute decision led us to the Crescent Ballroom, and it turned out to be a solid choice. The bands were great, the cocktails were dangerously well-priced, and the whole place had that cozy, laid-back vibe that makes it easy to settle in. The only “issue” here was… us. Specifically, two 50+ women who apparently forgot that live music venues are, in fact, loud. Rookie mistake. The music wasn’t the problem—it was our sudden awareness of things like “hearing preservation” and “maybe we don’t need to stand this close to the speakers.” Would I go back? Absolutely. Next time, we’ll bring the same enthusiasm, slightly more strategy, and maybe just a little more respect for our own age bracket. 🎶🍸

Great night at Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix! Just saw the Marshall Tucker Band for the first time and they absolutely delivered. The venue’s intimate, in-the-round setup makes every seat feel close to the stage, and the sound quality was excellent. Friendly staff, smooth entry, and classic Southern rock vibes made it a memorable evening. I’ll definitely be back for more shows! 🎶🔥

Love going here, every show feels so intimate, the band is so close and the sound is fantastic. Wish more well known bands played here but it’s great to catch all these old 70’s, 80’s & 90’s bands here. The seating is theater seating so you get a great view till people stand up but standing is totally not needed because everyone has a excellent seat.

Celebrity Theatre is one of Phoenix’s most ivonic venues. I absolutely love this place! The theater is full of history and character, and unlike any other venue in town. The rotating stage means every seat gets a great view, and because it’s such an intimate venue, you can actually see the artists’ faces, their expressions, and yes… even the sweat dripping off them while they perform. It makes every concert feel personal. The whole place has this nostalgic vibe that reminds you of what live music used to feel like. My very first concert here was Violent Femmes, but my favorite memory will always be seeing The Everly Brothers. Amazing performers! My dad made me go, and I’m so grateful he did. It’s one of those experiences I’ll treasure forever. I’ve seen so many incredible shows here over the years, and Celebrity Theatre never disappoints. If you have the chance to see a concert here, don’t pass it up. It’s one of the best live music experiences Phoenix has to offer.

Great spot for a concert if comedy show. It’s certainly a bit on the older side and the seats aren’t shiny, brand new, or all that comfortable but having shows in the round ensures that you are close to the action and that makes a big difference. It’s just such an ideal place to enjoy a show.

Really like this venue. We had been here before for a comedian, but this time we came for a musical group and had an even better experience. I did not realize the stage rotates, and that made the whole atmosphere so much better. It really feels like there is not a bad seat in the house. Great venue and a fun experience.

Stand Up Live offers a diverse entertainment landscape in Phoenix, featuring comedy performances and drag shows. While the venue provides a lively atmosphere and convenient access to local amenities, the seating can feel congested during high-demand events. Guests may experience varying levels of service consistency during busy nights.

The establishment serves a multitude of culinary options and beverages, with some menu items noted for their quality. Although the production value remains high, professionalism and parking logistics are areas that could see further refinement to enhance the overall guest experience.

The Hungry Hunter

Went to Stand Up Live to see Willie Barcena and the show was absolutely hilarious from start to finish. Willie and his crew had everyone laughing nonstop, and my friends really enjoyed the night out. I was able to get the tickets through Vet Tix, which made the night even better. The venue itself was very clean, well organized, and professionally run. Staff were friendly, quick, and proficient the entire evening. Right next door is Copper Blues, and it seems like the kitchen operation may be connected because the food service flowed seamlessly during the show. I had the New York strip steak with mashed potatoes and a salad while at Stand Up Live. The steak was cooked very well, nicely seasoned, and reasonably priced. The mashed potatoes were good too, although offering a light gravy or dark gravy option would make them even better. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great comedy, good food, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely a place I’d return to again.

The show was exceptional, but the conduct of one staff member revealed a level of pettiness that undermined the entire experience. I paid over $50 for my ticket and another $50 for the required two‑drink minimum and food, a clear investment in what should have been a refined, adult‑oriented evening. Instead, I encountered an employee whose behavior contradicted the image the venue tries to project. Around 9:20–9:30 p.m. on 5/3/26, at the venue’s exit during the audience’s departure the employee dressed as a hotdog told the group ahead of me, “Thanks for coming, have a great night.” When they didn’t respond, I politely said, “Thank you, you as well,” and he snapped, “NOT YOU, I WAS TALKING TO THEM!” Several guests heard it, and his reaction was unprofessional, immature, and entirely unnecessary. For a venue that markets itself as classy and geared toward adults, this level of childish behavior is shocking. We are all grown here — there is no excuse for staff acting this way. Management needs to seriously reevaluate this employee. The performance was excellent, but his attitude left a lasting negative impression. Anyone who plans to come here should be prepared to encounter petty, immature staff.

The staff, the food, the service and the atmosphere is amazing. Clean, warm, friendly, and fun. It’s right next to the rail transportation and so close to everything you could ever want to do on a night out. I recommend it.

Stand Up Live has a fun, energetic atmosphere, and it’s easy to see why people say they consistently book great comedians. The show itself made for a really enjoyable night out. The staff was friendly, although the service wasn’t always very attentive. The seating is also packed pretty tightly, which can feel cramped and uncomfortable after a while. We also had issues with the parking validation, so I’d recommend double-checking that everything went through before leaving. Overall, the comedy and atmosphere were the highlights. With more attentive service, better seating, and a smoother parking process, the experience would be much better.

Espresso grande put on great drag shows here. Brunch or late night, and always with a cool theme. Great drinks, great vibes, always clean and great service.

The show is for those 18 and older. To snag the best seats, try to arrive early. We got there late and ended up in the back, without air conditioning, and the place was packed. The drag show wasn’t quite what I was expecting. There were several opening acts, each dancing one song and then walking around to collect money.

I attended a show this past Saturday and although the comedian was great, in the end, the experience with my server introduced a bad vibe. I ordered a “Spotlighted Cocktail” listed on the table flyer (see photo attached), expecting $18.95. I ordered the It Takes Two to Mango with gin. The server asked whether I wanted Tanqueray or Hendricks. I asked if there was a difference in price, she said no. I ordered Hendricks. Once the bill arrived, it showed $15 for Hendricks, and $6.95 for “It Takes Two To Mango” , that’s $21.95 per drink. I asked her about the difference in price on the flyer vs the bill. She was immediately bothered and informed me that they only had Tanqueray or Hendricks, which did not explain to me the price difference. Had she explained that the “Single Well” gin was not available and they only had premium gins, I might have ordered a different “well” option or at least I would have known I was ordering an up-charge drink at the time of ordering instead of when I received the bill. This is not so much about the cost, although in this economy :-((, but it is about the overpriced drinks, the feeling that this is just their standard to advertise drinks at one price and always up-charge, and to have the nerve to act bothered when a customer inquires about it. The server then stayed at my table, blocking the view of the stage, interrupting the experience, while she repeated over and over how she was “personally” going to be held accountable for this but she will see what she can do to override the system to adjust the price. Then she selected $0 tip and advised me that she did so at her personal loss. If she had been courteous, more customer focused, stepped to the side while adjusting the bill, she would have received her normal tip plus the adjustment as tip — I always take care to tip well for good service. Been there, done that! Oh well! Sharing my experience. I hope management and servers take it into consideration.
