I was incredibly satisfied by my experience with Closets by Design from start to finish. Rose did an excellent job designing the project (Master Closet and Laundry Room) in a way that fit my needs as well as budget. On the day of install, Robert C. was fantastic. He arrived early then did an expert job with the installation. Thank you Rose & Robert for your professionalism, expertise, and customer service!

Everything about the experience was easy and professional. Our designer immediately saw our needs, addressed our concerns and offered multiple design solutions. We had enough time to prep the space on our own, and the installer was quick, courteous and professional. Our closet was cleaned and ready to fill that same day as install. We would choose Closets-By-Design again for our next project!

Sales representative Hailey did a great job presenting product options as well as designing the optimum use of my oddly shaped closet. The closet installer Raphael arrived promptly at 8:00 am and worked diligently til 5:00 pm. Don’t think he even stopped for lunch. He is an expert for sure as it’s absolutely perfect.

We absolutely love our new laundry room from Closets by Design! From the initial design process to the final installation, everything exceeded our expectations. The design is beautiful, the quality is outstanding, and the added functionality and storage have made such a difference in our daily routine. The installation team was professional and did a fantastic job. Our laundry room looks amazing, and we couldn’t be happier with the finished result. Highly recommend!

The process end to end was great. The designer, business office, and installer were all timely, professional and service oriented. The installation took less than 4 hours and the installer cleaned up before he left. It’s not the least expensive option to get basic closet inners installed but we wanted it done quickly without doing another DIY project.

Dawn seriously changed our lives. That’s not an exaggeration. From start to finish Dawn was amazing, I looked at multiple designers and got assigned Dawn by chance, and she was exactly what I was hoping for. She sat down and drew a whole blueprint of our closet right then and there that day, Dawn knows how to make the most of a space no matter what size it is. The suggestion she had to make the corners more accessible completely changed our ability to actually use various different corners of our closet. This is only day one of having stuff in the closet so I’m sure our organization in this new setup will develop, but the initial footprint is beyond worth every penny we spent and it was NOT a lot of Penny’s compared to the other places I interviewed to do my closet. Thank you Dawn and thank you closets by design, you are VERY lucky to have someone like Dawn. I usually take 24 hours to make a decision no matter how confident I am and I made it same day. She went to work for me and I can’t praise her enough.

Martha arrived on time for our appointment and took the time to carefully measure our closet. She also created a detailed drawing so I could clearly visualize the finished design. Throughout the process, she worked with me to find an option that fit my budget, patiently answered all of my questions, and was always quick to respond to texts. Once everything was finalized, she scheduled the installation right away. On installation day, Rafael also arrived on time. He was efficient, worked quickly, and demonstrated great attention to detail. Martha had explained that only the areas of the wall where the previous closet system had been removed would be patched. However, because the paint color we had was slightly off, Rafael went above and beyond by painting the entire wall to ensure a consistent appearance. The finished closet looks amazing! The quality of the work is outstanding, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. I honestly find myself wanting to sit in there all day and admire how much space I have now and how organized everything is. I was so pleased with the entire experience that I made another appointment with Martha to get measurements and quotes for my pantry and two additional bedroom closets. That alone speaks to the confidence I have in her work and the quality of service provided. I highly recommend Martha and Rafael for their professionalism, responsiveness, and excellent craftsmanship.

I had a great experience with Home Improvement Warehouse! I purchased my RTA/build-your-own cabinets here and couldn’t be happier with them. The quality is excellent, especially for the price — I shopped around quite a bit and it was hard to beat the value here. The customer service was also great from start to finish. If you’re looking for cabinets for a remodel, definitely check them out and make sure to ask for Rodger or Claudia! Both were extremely helpful and made the whole process easy. Highly recommend Home Improvement Warehouse!

A very nice red ambiance nostalgic feel to a very unique speak easy. Great drinks too, however they should not charge the same amount of $ for a NA ( non alcoholic drink) as they do for a regular one. I’ve been to several speak easy’s across the country and the prices between the two varies significantly.

Service and Atmosphere were great, bartender gave a great story background on Melindas Alley. Drinks on the other hand were TERRIBLE. Drinks were definitely overpriced for the quality, a new drink menu comes out each week, definitely need to perfect their cocktails instead of changing each week.

Cute and small speakeasy that has one bar and a rotating cocktail menu. They offer different types of fun drinks and change them every so often so they may be different depending on when you go. You can find the entrance via the red light with the bouncer at the door and proceed to this “basement” and Victorian vibe hallway speakeasy with eclectic furniture. It’s a fun space to go for a drink or two on a date or night out. I have enjoyed the drinks I’ve tried here. The bartenders have also been very friendly.

Melinda’s Alley is definitely the place to visit for a chill Unique vibe on the weekends. Each bartender takes turns on the drink list; they change 4 out of their 5 main drinks every week. The one that stays the same is their old fashion, I’ve been told it’s great. They only make like 100 of each drink to keep the uniqueness going each weekend. The drinks are of high quality; check it out sometime!

I came here for my last hoorah before moving out of the country! The bartender was so amazing and really gave us a good experience. The drinks were so cool and interesting! $16-$20 for a drink can be pricey but as you walk in, it does give ✨expensive✨. But the drinks are very personalized and change every week! I do suggest to go with a smaller group because seating can get crowded or you may might find an area big enough. Overall, I really really enjoy this place and do suggest people to go here!

I had purchased 9 beams along with 10 corbels from Volterra and one of the beams came damaged by the straps from the trailer. I took pictures of the beams on the trailer showing the pressure from the straps. But upon talking with Volterra they didn’t want to work with on giving me some kind of refund or offer me any input. Just it’s too bad. I am a contractor, but I won’t be sending my clients their way anymore. See pics before you buy $$$ beams

These are a wonderful products. Great company to order from and superb customer service! This was a retrofit job, I installed these vigas onto an eight year old house. My 60’s era home had a drywall covered beam on the back patio which was deteriorating and unsightly. I bought a faux wood beam from Volterra in their Doug Fir texture with espresso stain to cover it. It gave new life to the patio! The beam looks just like natural wood. Eight years later, and the beam still looks brand new. I am so glad I chose faux wood, because real wood would likely have been a maintenance nightmare. Thank you, Volterra, for a beautiful product and outstanding service!

We had such a great experience working with the team on our remodel. When we started the process, we honestly had a hard time figuring out exactly what we liked or how we wanted the space to come together. Their process really helped guide us and allowed us to discover our style along the way, which made a huge difference. There were moments where we felt cautious and needed to give feedback or ask for adjustments, but we never felt rushed or limited. The team was incredibly patient and open to revisions, which helped us feel comfortable speaking up and refining things until they felt right. That flexibility made the whole experience feel collaborative rather than stressful. As the process went on, we built a lot of trust in their expertise and vision. We truly enjoyed working with the designers and are so excited to see the design fully come to life. It was such a positive experience from start to finish.

Working with Aleah and Yoselin of Mackenzie Collier Interior was a great experience and the results exceeded my expectations. I wanted a new kitchen with a pass through that opened more into the front room, a master bath and guest bath in my 1967 ranch style house. Their task was to create spaces with plenty of storage, easy to care for (and flooring able to withstand pets), and a master bath that allowed for aging in place. Their initial choice of materials, colors and layout was so spot on, little fine tuning was necessary. They also recommended and scheduled contractors. (We were extremely happy with the contractor we ultimately chose from their recommendations.) For both client and contractor, a complete layout and spec package is provided, making the whole job easier for the contractor and the results as pictured. I ended up with a home that allows my art collection to shine and is the envy of everyone who sees it. Additionally, it is functional and easy to care for. I’m thrilled with the results! I cannot recommend Mackenzie Collier Interiors highly enough.

My experience working with Paul Rene Furniture has been exceptional! Paul is a very talented, creative designer who understands the importance of a collaborative relationship with his clients. He asked all the right questions & not only listened to my responses but considered them & incorporated them in the design. We had several meetings to make sure I was 100% comfortable with the final design. In that process, he was always patient, thoughtful & willing to make adjustments based on my preferences. He was honest about his timeline & he kept his commitments along the way. Overall, it was a smooth, & actually quite fun, creative process. A rare experience indeed!

This is a hard review to write because I can’t quite word how I feel about what Paul Rene did to my home. I also have a hard time taking the pictures that would best showcase the work they did. So I’m just going to do my best. 1- My library is absolutely and insanely beautiful. The lines, the wood, the feeling, the craftsmanship are all one of a kind and special to my wife and I. 2- The sturdiness of the install is exceptional. There is a rolling ladder that actually rolls around a corner. That is not normal. It is beyond what you would expect, and just amazing to use. The track system that the ladder slides on is super unique and low profile. It is sturdy and functional. I love it. 3- The creativity Paul Rene employed to design and manufacture this library was beyond what I could have envisioned. He sat with my wife and I and listened to us. We are lifetime collectors of books and avid readers. Every book on our shelves have been read at least once. When we sat down together he asked about our personalities, what we loved about books, our personal taste. A few weeks later he came up with a draft design. We worked back and forth for a few more weeks adjusting lines and adding more curves until we have the library you see pictured in the review. 4- Paul Rene worked hard to install the library. The team they used to install everything were courteous, and incredibly professional. After a month, I asked them to come back to look at a part of the ladder slide system and they were here adjusting it in no time. I can say this honestly- Paul is an artist without peer. My photos barely capture what he designed., and what I have the joy of living with. His partner Rene is a technical master at construction. Bringing the vision to a function that is delicate and sturdy enough to hold thousands of well loved books. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions regarding Paul Rene.

Jose understood my vision during the initial walkthrough. He provided a fair quote and a very reasonable timeframe to complete the project. And all the work was finished to my satisfaction on the exact day quoted. The team worked every day to ensure every detail was done right. Jose communicated throughout the project and stopped by frequently to check in and stay on point. D & J construction will be my first call for future projects!

I would without any hesitation recommend D&J Construction Services. They are quick to respond, show up on time and keep communicating during the project. They leave my house clean when they’re done. They’re pricing is fair and reasonable compared to other quotes I received. They took out a bathtub and installed the shower with a barn door design. I’ve had them back to do other needed repairs of which I was highly satisfied. I highly recommend them for construction or repairs in your home.

We had our kitchen remodeled by D and J Construction Services and couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. The countertops and cabinets look incredible, and the whole space feels brand new. The quote was fair, they stayed on budget, communicated regularly, and finished the project in under 3 weeks. Jose was especially great to work with and was super helpful. Highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Jose and the team at D & J Construction. They recently handled a wide ranging post-demo project for me at a commercial space in Tempe that included framing a new wall, door installations, electrical work, HVAC, fence removal and ceiling cleanup. Jose was willing to work with me on the price until I was comfortable – he was well below the handful of other quotes I received as well. The pace was excellent (2 weeks total), and the final results exceeded expectations. If you need a general contractor at a fair price and a high bar of quality, Jose is your guy.

So amazing!! So many vintage pieces! The big warehouse does not have air conditioning. So it’s very hot. So I would go when the weather is nice. The prices were pretty insane though. Everything was so pricy! But it’s cool to go to just look.

Totally blown away by this place, it is amazing! We were on a whirlwind trip from Las Vegas and stopped by while waiting for family to arrive at the airport. We will plan a trip from Las Vegas just to go here and pick some stuff up some day. (They do offer 3rd party shipping but we have the ability and equipment to pick up ourselves)

This place is really understated from the outside in fact you probably should use MapQuest or it’s real easy to drive by the sign on the side of the street that is so faded out it’s hard to read. Inside you can find hours of enjoyment looking for furniture Antiques Collectibles rare things, one-offs, amazing stuff

My go to place for large scale furniture. Gothic alter was modified to make a kitchen island and giant 9′ French carved turquoise doors were the perfect great room accent piece. Love this place!

The Westward Ho stands as a historic landmark in Phoenix, originally known as a premier destination for the political elite. This architectural centerpiece transitioned from a grand hotel to a modern residential complex, offering affordable housing for seniors and disabled citizens. Its exterior remains a significant contributor to the downtown skyline.

While the facility provides a nostalgic atmosphere, the living experience varies due to its proximity to nearby nightlife. The building serves as a vital community resource, blending its rich heritage with essential modern-day services for its residents.

Fantastic nostalgia of the boomer years. Built in 1929. I am a native and came downtown on Saturday to the Fox theater for the live Wallace & Ladmo shows. Cartoons, movie and refreshments. Great fun for us kids and a penny arcade. The Westward Ho was a landmark building downtown. It was one of the first grand hotels that catered to the political elite and several Presidents stayed hear when visiting. It has since been remolded and converted for subsidized and affordable apartments for the elderly and disabled citizens of our community. I remember it as the big hotel with the Valley National bank revolving sign on top. I have lived here for a year now and it is clean and close to all the places that make our lives comfortable and convenient. There is over a million square feet of new construction bringing Phoenix into a new metropolitan venue. The Westward Ho continues to be a nostalgic centerpiece of the ever-growing Valley of the Sun.

This historical landmark was one of the first buildings in Arizona to have air conditioning. Although I’ve never been inside it’s beautiful to look at from the outside. Alfred hitchcock also filmed a movie her. It’s definitely one of downtown Phoenix’s main skyline contributors.

This is a hauntingly beautiful place. Very old and worth visiting. It is now housing for seniors, and I recently got to be a part of placing a 67 year old woman who had been homeless for 10 years. What an improvement in her life! So proud and happy for her.

While it’s definitely a safer place than most public housing it’s not very comfortable. The apartments are kept hot In the summer and freezing in the winter due to residents abusing having free utilities. The club next door is very loud and good luck getting a decent nights sleep if your apartment is facing it especially if it is a warm night and the a/c is shut off and you need to open the window to cool down. You will be serenaded with the 2000’s finest hip hop until 3am.

I’ve lived here for 3 years. I just read a review left 9 mo ago, based on knowing a friend who lives here. Much of the information is false. I’ve never had my electricity go out, and never known anyone else who lost electricity! Where is THAT coming from? The reviewer also said there are “areas” that smell bad “like unwashed bodies”. That’s just gross, and reviewer didn’t say where those areas are beyond mentioning the elevators. In 3 years yes, ONE TIME I got on the elevator with smelly people. But that’s also happened to me in other buildings, like hospitals and Dr offices. Yes, sometimes new MGMT will rent to several groups of formerly homeless people (I think there’s a bonus for that) but they usually don’t stay long if they can’t adjust to having an apt and following rules. And yes, there are a lot of mentally ill, and actively addicted people OUTSIDE the building, in the neighborhood. THIS is why police are called often, not because of the people who live at the Westward Ho. There are some quite posh apartment hi rises downtown. They also put up with some disruption due to un-homed people in the area. Of course I don’t like everything about living here. But I don’t like false information from people who don’t live here. Yes, there are some residents who are mentally ill. They are a minority and most residents try to support and have compassion for them. I have met some very wonderful people who live here. They are very intelligent, talented people with a wonderful sense of humor. The building is set up to rent to elderly and disabled populations. There is a senior center just down the street. We are right by the Light Rail and bus stops. Yep, there are a lot of people out in front of the building in wheelchairs or with walkers smoking, as smoking isn’t permitted in the building. I don’t walk around the area after dark, but there are few places that I would do that. It’s life in a big city. With some adjustments I’ve managed to feel safe and happy here. And yes, I absolutely LOVE the historical building, the view from my apartment, and the city lights.

Frequently asked questions about interior designers in Phoenix

How much does an interior designer cost?

The cost of hiring an interior designer varies significantly based on the scope of the project, the designer's experience level, and the specific services required. Fees are typically structured as an hourly rate, a flat project fee, or a percentage of the total construction and furniture budget. In the Phoenix area, costs will depend on whether you need full-service design, simple consultations, or just specific furniture selection.

How do I choose the right interior designer?

Choosing the right interior designer involves evaluating their portfolio, communication style, and familiarity with your specific aesthetic goals. It is helpful to look for designers who have experience with your home type and whose past projects align with your desired style and budget. Many clients find success by scheduling an initial consultation to ensure the designer's creative vision matches their personal needs.

What is the difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator or stylist?

The primary difference lies in the scope of work: interior designers handle structural changes and spatial planning, while decorators and stylists focus on aesthetics and surface-level styling. Designers are qualified to manage layouts, lighting plans, and building codes, whereas decorators typically focus on furniture, color palettes, and accessories. Stylists often work on a shorter timeframe to curate the "look" of a space for photography or specific events.

What are the benefits of hiring an interior designer?

Hiring an interior designer provides professional expertise in space planning, functionality, and aesthetic cohesion. They can help maximize your square footage, manage complex project timelines, and source high-quality materials that fit your budget. Additionally, a professional designer can prevent costly mistakes during the construction or renovation phase by ensuring all elements work together harmoniously.
