Phoenix Alterations

Wheelchair cushion cover: I'm a young woman who uses a wheelchair. I came in to have a few extra pull-over cushion covers made out of Lycra fabric (which I provided). Liudmila (?) the Asian woman who works here did a nice job with this, for $40 per cover. I did inquire about having a zippered closure, which she said would be $60 each, which is a bit out of my price range. I'm happy with the results! In the past I also had her fix an Eddie Bauer jacket that had a hole, and also hem a shirt with sleeves that were too long. She works fast, finishing alternations in ~2-3 days. Cash only!

I’ve been going to Liudmila at Phoenix Alterations since 2009, back when I lived much closer to her shop. Even now, living about 25 minutes away, I still make the drive anytime I need alterations done because she’s earned my trust over the years. She’s helped me with everything from hemming pants and repairing blown-out zippers to fixing popped seams and other random clothing issues. Her turnaround time has always been very reasonable, and more than once she’s texted me early to let me know my items were finished sooner than expected. I know she’s had some negative reviews, and I think part of that may simply come down to cultural differences and communication style. Liudmila is Russian and very direct. Some people may interpret that differently, especially today when customer service is often expected to be overly warm or polished. Personally, I’ve never found her rude. I’ve found her honest, efficient, skilled, and dependable for nearly two decades. At the end of the day, I care about quality work, reliability, fair pricing, and someone who consistently delivers, and she absolutely does. There’s a reason I still drive across town to see her after all these years.

Loudmilla is fabulous and does a great job hemming my pants. She is has a kind demeanor and is honest when asked her professional opinion, which I respect. Her prices are fair and I do not mind paying cash only. She has always treated me very well and I trust her judgment. I definitely recommend.

she fixed my oversized bridesmaid dress! i could not believe it was the same dress. this was my first time going to a tailor and i am very happy with the results ☺️

I have come to see Liu quite a few times. She has altered dresses, skirts and put school patches on my son’s shirts. She is very fast and will text you when your stuff is ready to pick up. She’s great! Cash only
