Love the atmosphere. Good music gets played here. This is also hidden in between an alley. However, service can be very slow especially when there’s only 2 people on the bar who can take orders for both food and drinks and there’s a long wait sometimes to order and get your orders. It would be good if there was a waiter to make it faster.
I attended Barflies event and had a great time! Unique venue and worth a visit if you’re in downtown Phoenix. Tasty cocktails with a story behind each name. Didn’t try any food; bartender service was slow with little eye contact nor friendly bantering. Customer service is lacking across all industries; maybe the lack of consistent friendly service is we are living in apathetic times….
Valley Bar is one of my favorite spots in Phoenix to catch live music and hang out. The vibe feels gritty and intimate, you’re close to the stage without losing comfort. Sound is solid (especially for local bands), drink options are decent, and staff are welcoming. They offer a variety of events, from indie concerts to DJ-led dance nights, so there's usually something that fits your mood. If you want a place where live music feels real, not overly polished, Valley Bar hits the mark every time.
it’s listed as not having a wheelchair accessible entrance but for shows when you go to the front door, security will show you around to a room that has an elevator that takes you down into the basement. there’s a little gated off space for wheelchairs so you can actually see the stage. i had a really nice experience when i went, security was very kind and accommodating 🙂
Went tonight for a show and the sound was a mess, it way too loud for a venue of such small size, at one point my decible reader was reading 117dB. At no point should it have been that loud. The mix was rough, I could hardly hear the singers half the time and I noticed there were multiple issues with cabling and connections throughout the show. This is by far one of the worst sounding venues I’ve been too in the Phoenix area, if you do attend a show here I highly recommend you take ear plugs and be prepared to not be able to hear your favorite artist singing.
this place used to feel inviting but last two times ive gone the service wasnt good. the bartenders in the table side ignored us n just kept standing around talking to each other. they def make eye contact with you and just ignore. guess we dont look like their type theyd want to help... but then other people would come up and theyd take their order. had to wait for the original bartender who helped us to take our order. i had a tab open and just closed it after that interaction. dont wanna spend my $ where i dont feel invited.also want to add the venue side isnt disability friendly. i have pots so i need somewhere to sit for bit to settle the spells i get. maybe a layout change would ne better to add chairs inside the venue.
Went for a LOLO Ella Red Concert. To be honest we had a hard time finding it. Going down an alley we see a red light over a door advertising Valley Bar. Going in we head down a flight of stairs to this basement to wait for the concert to start.... Honestly I couldn't think of a better atmosphere. The vibe was amazing we had so much fun. looking for other events to attend
