I am a loyal Hertz customer. I usually pick up in Tempe because it’s close to where I live. I decided to drop my car at the shop and use Hertz for two days. I scheduled for 1:30pm and it’s 3:15pm and I still don’t have a car. I rent 6-8 times a year. They are severely understaffed. It’s busy enough for more than one cleaner and one receptionist yet that’s all they have. There are several vehicles available outside but I was told they are all dirty and I asked to be given one anyway and she said no, that they are required to disinfect. I am late to pick my kids up from school because I can’t leave here. Please hire more staff. Pay better if you can’t find someone. The service is awful. And I worked at enterprise in college, I get it and give grace but I am not pleased with today’s experience.
Absolutely appalling experience at Hertz CamelBak. If you value your time, money, or basic human decency, avoid this location at all costs. I arrived just before noon, before closing time, mind you, alongside another paying customer. We both had confirmed reservations. Cars booked. Money paid. Plans made. And yet, the staff outright refused to assist us. Doors locked. Blinds drawn. Staff visibly inside, choosing to ignore two customers standing outside in the heat. They didn’t just close early, they actively denied service during listed business hours. This isn’t just bad customer service, it’s willful negligence and a complete disregard for paying customers. No phone call, no courtesy notice, no accountability. Just a shrug and a locked door. I booked in good faith. I showed up on time. They chose not to honor that. Shame on Hertz for allowing this level of service to operate under their brand.
A horrible and discriminatory experience at Hertz! I will never rent from Hertz again. I made a reservation in advance and never requested an electric vehicle. When I arrived, the staff forced me to take an EV that I neither wanted nor needed. When I explained my situation, the employee was completely rude, dismissive, and even displayed racist behavior. They offered no solution, no alternatives—just flat-out refused to help me. I had to cancel my reservation on the spot and find another company that actually treats customers with respect and professionalism. Now I understand why this Hertz location has such terrible reviews. Don’t waste your time or money here. The customer service is unacceptable.
Arrived to pick up my pre-reserved vehicle and wasted not only time, but money on an Uber ride to get here to find out there have not a single vehicle and no ETA when a vehicle would become available. Representative was rude and unhelpful, because mind you, she told me there were no other cars, and I saw multiple in the lot. Then had to spend more money to get another Uber to a different rental car location with a company that doesn’t suck.
After a day of disaster after travel disaster, we came to this location and needed a vehicle to drive to Michigan. Lindsay was more than accommodating and truly went above and beyond to put us in a vehicle. She was the ray of sunshine on a very cloudy day and we appreciate her so much. The staff was very accommodating, the prices very detailed and outlined, and all questions we had were answered efficiently and effectively. The vehicle was spotless as well. Truly an amazing experience.
Our rental car started to stall in the middle of I 10 in Los Angeles area and gave many warning signs ☢️ it was 2025 Jeep compass with 19000 miles leaving us stranded and then forcing us to call road side emergency following which we were required to exchange the car after a lot of struggling mix of activities including waiting for the rental to be towed and Lyft to show up. Will be weary of renting as it was a horrible experience...
An absolute joke of a business. I flew across the country to visit a friend and had booked a car online at this location. I had received a confirmation email and everything else I needed. I took an Uber from the airport and when I arrived, I saw what looked to be the car I rented right next to the front door. I go in to grab the keys and the lady behind the counter says "We are booked and cancelled your rental, we will not be able to give you any rental vehicle. You got a phone call and an email about it." This was a downright lie. I never got any phone call or email (and the phone number she gave me for my booking was not my phone number). There looked to be at least a couple dozen rentals in the parking lot. Several people came in to turn in their rentals while I was there and I asked if I could rent any of those vehicles. The lady told me she couldn’t do that. I checked my banking app and saw I was still being charged for the additional vehicle insurance coverage I had ordered with the rental. I asked her to take it off and she said I would have to take that up with someone else since it was a third party service. I guess on top of them pulling my rental without letting me know and putting me in a terrible situation, I am also out $36. I was almost stranded over 2,000 miles from home because of this business, please do yourself a favor and book anywhere but here. There is an Enterprise right down the road that took care of me.
