Will always rent from Enterprise, after the exceptional experience I had with my last rental at the Phoenix airport location.

This is a great place to turn customers into enterprise loyalists, as mentioned in other reviews, since a rental car is often so important when traveling this area (and Las Vegas). I hadn’t thought I would become loyal to one car rental agency, but Enterprise is it.

I had the best car rental experience at this Enterprise. Now I’m an enterprise loyalist, and have been to many many enterprises and I have never had a bad experience. But this one was just over the top amazing.

James at the counter was incredible and very kind!! And the manager Ryan, also just the nicest guy.
I decided to upgrade to a Mustang convertible, and they helped me do that and explained everything. And when I returned the car, Ryan was the one who helped me return the vehicle and again was so very kind, and helpful and made the whole process so smooth and I can’t wait to be back again.

We did a road trip from Phoenix to Los Angeles, with unforgettable stops in Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce National Parks, and Las Vegas.

We had a great minivan for our family trip from Phoenix to Tucson. It had excellent gas mileage and was very clean and comfortable. Check in was easy. I had a mild panic attack when I got to the Enterprise counter and saw the long line, but they were so efficient, it only took 10 minutes to get through it. Everyone we encountered in both Phoenix and Tucson was very friendly and professional and the van was great. We chose Enterprise because of the Military discount, but we will come back for the great service and nice cars. Highly recommend!

I love to travel, especially to national parks! Enterprise is always my car rental of choice and finds me a car that will work with the terrain I’m traveling in. My friends and family know I only ever go with enterprise. I love that I can show up to the podium tell them I checked in and they immediately get me my car. Sometimes it is so efficient it feels like I am stealing a car. The return process is always just as efficient as well. Staff are always super friendly too. Already have had 3 car rentals from them in the past month and have two more lined up this summer!

If you’re looking for a hassle free car rental to meet your needs, this is the place! Amazing customer service that go above and beyond! Friendliest and joy filled staff I’ve ever met. The enterprise in my state could use some training from the staff here at Sky Harbor. The car was in great condition. Well kept and clean. Very quick process! J’ai pour habitude de louer chez Alamo à chacun de mes voyages aux États-Unis depuis plusieurs années. Malgré une expérience catastrophique à l’agence de Miami Airport en octobre 2024, j’ai redonné une chance à cette compagnie, et l’agence de Phoenix est davantage à la hauteur du service que j’ai connu autrefois. L’accueil fut chaleureux et l’attente était modérée par rapport aux concurents qui avaient des files d’attente à n’en plus finir. Le check in est simple et le personnel est agréable. Tout se fait rapidement.
Petit bémol tout de même, nous n’avons pas eu le choix du véhicule, l’agent au parking nous a dirigé vers une voiture. D’habitude nous pouvons choisir parmi les modèles d’une rangée. Malheureusement cette voiture (une Jetta) avait deux défauts au niveau du tableau de bord. J’ai donc demandé à changer de véhicule. Nous avons eu une seconde Jetta, sans défauts cette fois. Dans l’ensemble ce n’était pas une voiture exceptionnelle mais elle nous a bien accompagné lors de notre road trip. Le retour fut également simple et efficace.
En conclusion, Alamo reste une compagnie sérieuse avec un personnel gentil et professionnel, mais le rapport qualité/prix n’est plus forcément au niveau de ce qu’il était il y a quelques années.

Rented a car at Phoenix Airport. It was nice that when we got in line at rental area you could scan a barcode if you had your reservation code and check in on App instead of waiting in line. It worked great. Got our car, then as we drove out a mile or so, car was flashing maintenance and beeping. We turned around and went back to return car. They then walked us over to customer service office and let them know what happened. Peter at customer service was very helpful and we got to go pick out any car. Gave him the keys and he switched everything over to new car which we got a brand new 2025 Nissan Sentra. It was a great trade. We enjoyed it on our trip.

Vehicle performance was perfect and comfortable over AZ mountains and 119*F heat. Return process was quick and well managed at an extremely large airport. Good job Alamo! I just rented from Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) last Friday through Sunday. I checked in online because the physical line was very long. Usually, I will get insurance if it’s not outrageously expensive, but this time it was basically the price of the rental. I have never had an accident in 37 years renting cars from various car rental companies including Alamo car rental.

When I turned my car in on Sunday as you can see in the pictures, the gas cap was busted. I took a picture of the gas to show that I couldn’t fill the car because the gas cap would not release. The young man who checked in my car said there was a dent on top of my car. I told him there was no one to inspect the car and no when I got to the airport on Friday. There are basically no trees in Phoenix, maybe palm trees, but I didn’t park under any palm trees, and I talked to the valet the JW Marriott in Cave Creek, who said It was parked in the open with no trees around it.

I don’t know what they’re trying to pull, but I can promise I will pursue legal action against Alamo car rental if they’re intent is to try to make me pay Was probably previous to my rent the car.
They didn’t even check the gas cap so how does one get gas If the gas cap is busted? I guess they missed that on the previous inspection report as well along with the dent on the top of the car.
I guess they just expect me to pay for their negligence. Well, when they lose in court, I guess they’ll remember losing a client wasn’t worth the harassment that I had to deal. Never had a problem with them before, but the lack of personnel at the car rental in Phoenix is hard to believe

Super easy and convenient to get to from the airport!

We flew Delta into Terminal 3 and hopped on the tram, just two quick stops to the rental car center. The signage was clear and helpful the entire way, making it impossible to get lost. Aside from a very short walk (maybe 100 feet), the whole route is indoors and easy to navigate.

Once we arrived, we found our rental car desk right away. There were several agents assisting customers, so we didn’t have to wait at all. Picking up the car was quick and hassle-free—exactly what you want after a flight!

The rental car center at the Phoenix airport is very convenient and located at the end of the airport shuttle. It seems like it takes about 10 minutes to get here, plus however long you have to wait to catch the shuttle in the first place, so I would a lot maybe 15 minutes to get there or to get back to the airport terminals after you drop off

although this is attached to the airport through the shuttle. you want to use this as your point of destination to get to this location versus driving to the airport driving past all the terminals and getting looped around would be about a 7 to 10minute detour.

There are restrooms here that are clean.

There are TV screens with the feature info.

Vending machines for drinks.

I think each rental company should be reviewed on their own and not a part of this location (in other words, my experience with Budget or Avis shouldn’t be a part of the review of this Car Rental Center).

I had an amazing experience renting from Eric! He was an absolute delight to work with—super responsive and helpful throughout the process. The car was conveniently located in a covered parking garage, and getting there was easy with the airport shuttle.

The 2025 vehicle was fantastic—loaded with features like automatically heated seats and a heated steering wheel, which were a lifesaver in the cold weather. It also had excellent safety features, such as lane change detection, which made me feel extra secure on the road.

The car was perfect for my trip and made exploring the vortexes in Sedona an unforgettable adventure. I highly recommend renting from Eric!

Rent several times here, if Hertz didn’t have corporate with our company, I would never come here and rent. They always try to promote a better car to you to make the commission, and add premium insurance package without telling you.

They were helpful. Although I wish they would have told me I couldn’t leave my personal vehicle there. I had not rented a vehicle for a really long time. I had to ask my neighbor for a ride to pick up my vehicle and again when I brought it back. Thank God for good neighbors. Google Maps told me the backside of the location. I had to ask for directions. I was so frustrated. The vehicle was clean aside from some weird shiny stuff falling from the corners of the dash. I was not familiar with the new tech in the vehicle, although I finally figured out most of it by the end of my week long trip.

So I decided to become a Gold account holder to get special services. I’ve just been informed I need to get my car back to Hertz by 1 O’clock today or I’m being charged for another day. This is very interesting as I picked the car up 6 days ago at 3 O’clock in the afternoon so apparently a Hertz day is 22 hours, good to know. Also I was guaranteed a Jeep rental and I booked it 3 weeks in advance. When I got to the airport the Jeep wasn’t available so I took whatever they had. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company, I will be doing just that from now on.

Avoid renting here at all cost. 1 month+ after returning the vehicle, received an additional mysterious charge on credit card from Hertz. When I called the customer service line, they said that we returned the vehicle with no fuel and that I’m now being charged for a full tank of gas. However this is not true, I returned the car with a full tank of gas. I took pictures of the fuel gauge/mileage upon rental of the vehicle as well as return of the vehicle which both show the fuel gauge full. They also sent me an e-receipt the day I returned the vehicle which shows the mileage in/out as well as the fuel in/out (full). Now when I log into my Hertz account over 1 month later, I noticed that they modified this receipt and added fuel charges on. I was told I need to send an email to dispute it which I did (with all the pictures seen here as well as copies of the receipt from the gas stations the day of returning the vehicle). However after 2 emails, no response from Hertz and the charge is still on my credit card statement.

We rented from Hertz and we got a 2024 Ford Edge car back in June 2025. We had the car less than 24 hours and the fan in the car would not shut off. Needless to say the battery went dead. We were an hour and 45 minutes away from Phoenix. We had no car to drive to Phoenix!! Hertz Called in Prescott AZ for another car, but the Hertz manager call us back and said there were no cars available. Do not come. I have nothing here. We told him that we have no car to get to Prescott to even go get a car! We thanked him for letting us know. Needless to say we had to have the car towed from Cottonwood back to Phoenix. Hertz would not provide us customer service at this point we had to cancel and we would like a refund seeing that we only had the car for less than 24 hours and it was rented for five days. We are fighting a dispute to see if we can get our money back. We are willing to pay for the one day, we have the car we are disputing the five day total! We had to cancel with Hertz and rent from another company! This was very disappointing and frustrating as we were on a short trip visiting elderly family members. We will not rent from Hertz again! Hertz is charging us for the 5 days when we only had the car for 16 hrs! Lousy customer service! We did not even get the car we originally signed out for a which was a Chevy equinox!

We rented a 2025 Jeep compass for 2 weeks. The lady at the desk said she was giving us her personal price as a worker. Didn’t seem all that cheap though. Still ended up costing 1700 with all fees and taxes. The fees are higher at the airport. It’s better to rent elsewhere. But the lady’s service was good and the car was in pristine condition. Overall good experience.

Used Enterprise instead. I had a car all ready to rent and we get off the plane to pick it up and and told that they have to put the deposit and the fee on the same card when I explicitly asked to split them. Then they did a soft credit check saying I did not qualify. My husband then took over and they told him he was approved then a minute or so later says oh wait no you aren’t so we are stranded without a car in another state. My brother calls them to rent the car for us and they said he would have to be there to be put on as a driver the only problem is he was in Florida and we were in Arizona. This took 45 minutes to an hour of our day. My husband then walked over to Enterprise and they had us in a car within 10 minutes and out of the airport. Stay away from Hertz! They are a joke AND NOT customer friendly!

If l could give this place 0 l would. They don’t answer or call back. I got hung up on. And getting a refund is impossible. I will be filing a civil suit against this company. So I had to spend almost 2 and 1/2 hours on the phone with this company to get my full refund they were going to charge me for the 3 hours in a car that I drove 2 1/2 hours when the tire light came on the check engine light came on it started clicking when I turned right after giving me a safety checklist saying this was a safe vehicle. It kept flashing a warning light that said power being diverted from the engine the gas pedal kept not working. So they gave me what they assumed was a safe vehicle. I don’t even think they had it looked at or checked over by a mechanic before the last user. I am still filing a civil suit against this company for my own personal safety reasons they put me in a car that was unsafe and I drove 120 mi in it only to get home and be Carlos for over a week I will also be asking for a refund on the car I have to rent now. They were going to try to say it takes 30 days to get a refund I was not all about that I have been without a car for a week they finally put a refund in my account now I’m just waiting for it to deposit so I can go rent a car and then go to the courthouse and file a lawsuit against this company I do not recommend them they are not safe.

The customer service and people in the office are very nice, picking up the car was easier than I thought it would be, 2 months later the check engine light came on on a Friday night, had to wait til Monday to bring it in but they gave me a credit for not being able to drive on the weekend, and also switched me to another car instead of having me wait for the repair on that one. No regrets with renting from them

This is a PREDATORY car leasing company. Have been with them for close to a year. As far as the people who work in the office and the mechanics they are stand up and awesome. Know that.
As far as the company it is overpriced. The cars are rented out often dirty (had to clean both cars myself). The first car literally all the check engine lights came on when left and had to return it shortly after. Is many much more affordable companies to go through I would strongly recommend not going with Ucars. Very unorganized and overpriced along with predatory…..I had an emergency and almost died. Have been in the hospital. They completely have attempted to take advantage of me. They are charging me a key fee((300)) (even though the keys are in the vehicle) they are charging me 80 dollars for gas even though the car fills up for less then 40 dollars and had a half tank of gas when they “recovered” it which is another fee(500). They then also charged me a 30 dollar cleaning fee…..although the car is cleaner then the condition which I received it in. This is a horrible company. Yes they will allow late payments and work with you from time to time however they charge exceptionally high rates which any and every other company is more affordable then. This is a horrible company. I write this so no one else experiences being taken advantage of by them. And by the way they go back on what they agree to and just charge my accounts without consulting me. Once you give them your account/card info they will keep attempting to or charging your card at random times until they receive the money. Not to mention they have stolen my 300 dollar deposit. Everytime I call they either “can’t hear me” or have some excuse. Save yourself the trouble. Worst car rental company I’ve ever been with.

When I called the number they put me on hold and then sent me to the message machine instead of billing. And as of now I have not received a call back. Two weeks after dropping my rental car off. I received a notice in the mail my card would be charged for a cracked windshield. When I dropped off the vehicle there were NO cracks or issues with my rental car. The miles and gas was not the same as it was when they noted the damages. I just happen to be in town for another visit and came to see what happened. I was told if I check in the vehicle after hours. I am responsible for it until they check it in. I dropped it off Saturday and was checked in Monday morning. They have no cameras for proof of who did it and when it happened. I DO NOT recommend this location. It’s safe to say they don’t care about the customer just the dollar.

Over charged. Tire sensor light constantly staying on for low tire. Stopped several times to check air. Spent 15$ on air the tires never needed. Turned in one day sooner with full gas tank. Check in person didn’t document correct gas and was over charged. All they could say about the sensor issue was we should have pulled over and called for a replacement. (Rental reason- travel back to Ar for medical help (broken leg & multiple bruising- hit by semi in AZ) so pulling over and killing unnecessary time was null and void. Pain level was high. Thankful for my daughter, dealing with the cold climate issues, this car and dealing with me in pain.

Great, not just good, but, GREAT experience! I needed a short term car rental as my car was at a local dealership. I selected Avis/Budget Car rental initially because of its low rates. However, the service was excellent, also. I had selected an economy car, but, when I arrived, Budget had none available, so, I was upgraded to a new Chevrolet Malibu at no additional charge! Sure, other car rental facilities do this, BUT, other car facilities also ask for proof of full coverage EVEN IF it is an economy car (this happened to me i n December, 2022, while I tried to rent a car from Enterprise Rent A Car in South Phoenix ). The Malibu worked very well, the price was awesome and Kayla of Avis/Budget was helpful. This is why I wrote, GREAT experience!

Extremely disappointed with my experience! Waited 1 hour 45 minutes for a car, only to be told it wasn’t ready yet. Overbooking seems to be the issue. Staff and management were inefficient, spending more time on phones than helping customers. Meanwhile, people were forced to pay extra for alternatives. Poor customer service and lack of accountability. Would not recommend.

I recently rented a car from Avis on March 8th, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish. My assigned vehicle was in spot P11, but the car there did not match what I had selected. What should have been a simple fix turned into an hour-long ordeal due to an enormous lineup at the Preferred Customer kiosk. The inefficiency and lack of streamlined service were disappointing.

In contrast, National Car Rental offers a seamless experience—just walk down the aisle, pick a car, and drive off without hassle. Given this experience, I won’t be using Avis again for my rental needs.

As a long time Avis preferred member, I love that I can check in from my phone, grab my car, and go. In Phoenix if I have to deal with the desk that’s about where the love usually ends. This trip we were given a Mazda suv that was fine until about 7 mins after we left the lot and hit the freeway. As soon as we accelerated above 45 mph the check engine light went on and we received warnings about every collision avoidance radar malfunctioning. On the freeway, with my wife and 2 young children in the vehicle, the suv then went into some kind of “limp mode” and wouldn’t accelerate above 35mph. We were 3 miles from the next off ramp. We were repeatedly almost hit by semi trucks, honked at, flipped off, all while my kids cried as they were afraid we’d be in an accident. Finally off the freeway we slowly limped the vehicle back to the lot. The response from the Avis desk in the garage was almost worse than the freeway scenario. Absolutely ZERO empathy. Not one single “sorry” or any attempt to understand the situation. Literally, LITERALLY, the only response I received was “Mazda’s don’t usually do that”. I have never experienced employees who cared less about what they do. I was given a new car and they looked over my shoulder to the next in line and said “next, please”. That car did work for our trip, which is probably the only reason I’d book with Avis again. But I’m not sure I’ll be doing so in Phoenix which is my most common destination.

I was able to reserve a car in 30 minutes due to my other rental not having a car available. There was a line when I got to the counter , 3-4 people working. The wait time was about 20-25 minutes. When i got my turn , I was told that I got a Mystery vehicle. This is the craziest. They told me I get an electric truck. Never in my life I drove an electric nor a truck. Of course I showed concern. The guy there said he’s trying to find me a gas car. After about 10 minutes wait , I got an SUV Mitsubishi. The car was wonderful although I was a little stressed at first since it was both hybrid and electric. I used the gas option which was great ! Of course I got my card charged more for not picking up that mystery car. That’s my only complaint. They shouldn’t even have that promotion. The price was the cheapest , so I went with that for that reason. Be careful what you get.

Second poor experience with AVIS. Third location. Three vehicles. It’s obviously a company problem. Vehicles damaged (literal body damage on two, and holes in interior), dirty (not washed, oil in bed of truck), in poor mechanical condition (shaking steering wheel, AC not working, etc). The employees have told me they don’t see the vehicles before re-renting – they use a 3rd party company so we have to let them know before leaving if there’s damage or problems. That is ridiculous. Definitely last time using Avis.

I am a loyal Hertz customer. I usually pick up in Tempe because it’s close to where I live. I decided to drop my car at the shop and use Hertz for two days. I scheduled for 1:30pm and it’s 3:15pm and I still don’t have a car. I rent 6-8 times a year. They are severely understaffed. It’s busy enough for more than one cleaner and one receptionist yet that’s all they have. There are several vehicles available outside but I was told they are all dirty and I asked to be given one anyway and she said no, that they are required to disinfect. I am late to pick my kids up from school because I can’t leave here. Please hire more staff. Pay better if you can’t find someone. The service is awful. And I worked at enterprise in college, I get it and give grace but I am not pleased with today’s experience.

Absolutely appalling experience at Hertz CamelBak.

If you value your time, money, or basic human decency, avoid this location at all costs. I arrived just before noon, before closing time, mind you, alongside another paying customer. We both had confirmed reservations. Cars booked. Money paid. Plans made.

And yet, the staff outright refused to assist us. Doors locked. Blinds drawn. Staff visibly inside, choosing to ignore two customers standing outside in the heat. They didn’t just close early, they actively denied service during listed business hours.

This isn’t just bad customer service, it’s willful negligence and a complete disregard for paying customers. No phone call, no courtesy notice, no accountability. Just a shrug and a locked door.

I booked in good faith. I showed up on time. They chose not to honor that. Shame on Hertz for allowing this level of service to operate under their brand.

A horrible and discriminatory experience at Hertz!

I will never rent from Hertz again. I made a reservation in advance and never requested an electric vehicle. When I arrived, the staff forced me to take an EV that I neither wanted nor needed. When I explained my situation, the employee was completely rude, dismissive, and even displayed racist behavior. They offered no solution, no alternatives—just flat-out refused to help me.

I had to cancel my reservation on the spot and find another company that actually treats customers with respect and professionalism. Now I understand why this Hertz location has such terrible reviews. Don’t waste your time or money here. The customer service is unacceptable.

Our rental car started to stall in the middle of I 10 in Los Angeles area and gave many warning signs ☢️ it was 2025 Jeep compass with 19000 miles leaving us stranded and then forcing us to call road side emergency following which we were required to exchange the car after a lot of struggling mix of activities including waiting for the rental to be towed and Lyft to show up. An absolute joke of a business. I flew across the country to visit a friend and had booked a car online at this location. I had received a confirmation email and everything else I needed. I took an Uber from the airport and when I arrived, I saw what looked to be the car I rented right next to the front door. I go in to grab the keys and the lady behind the counter says “We are booked and cancelled your rental, we will not be able to give you any rental vehicle. You got a phone call and an email about it.” This was a downright lie. I never got any phone call or email (and the phone number she gave me for my booking was not my phone number). There looked to be at least a couple dozen rentals in the parking lot. Several people came in to turn in their rentals while I was there and I asked if I could rent any of those vehicles. The lady told me she couldn’t do that. I checked my banking app and saw I was still being charged for the additional vehicle insurance coverage I had ordered with the rental. I asked her to take it off and she said I would have to take that up with someone else since it was a third party service. I guess on top of them pulling my rental without letting me know and putting me in a terrible situation, I am also out $36. I was almost stranded over 2,000 miles from home because of this business, please do yourself a favor and book anywhere but here. There is an Enterprise right down the road that took care of me.

So picture this: I strut into what I thought was a car rental office, but let’s be honest—this place had the vibes of a pawn shop that also sells bait. And there he is: Rob. Smug. Leaning on the counter like he owns the joint, grinning at me with the confidence of a man who’s never lost a game of Monopoly but has definitely committed tax fraud.

I open my mouth to say hello, but Rob cuts me off with: “How you payin’?” No greeting. No paperwork. No nothing. Before I even blink, my credit card is in his machine. Didn’t swipe, didn’t dip—no, Rob shoves it in like he’s launching a space shuttle.

That’s when I realize: I might not be renting a car. I might be participating in a live scam tutorial.

So I hit him with, “Uh, can I actually SEE the vehicle first?” Rob waves his hand like a wizard granting me passage: “It’s unlocked.” Cool. Super reassuring. Cars you’re about to legally rent should NOT sound like they’re also available for immediate grand theft auto.

I step outside, open the door, and—oh buddy. This was no car. This was a science experiment.

The interior? Looked like the Marlboro Man’s coffin. Cigarette butts everywhere. Smelled like Willie Nelson had just held a yoga retreat inside. The fender looked like it had been in at least three Fast & Furious movies—none of which ended well. The windshield was cracked so bad it looked like it was trying to retire from service.

At this point, I’m not even thinking about driving it—I’m wondering if sitting in it would qualify me for a CDC case study. Like, if I got inside, I’d need a tetanus shot, a hazmat suit, and possibly an exorcism. Honestly, I half-expected to find a raccoon squatting in the backseat, charging me rent.

And you know if I’d gone through with it, Rob would’ve tossed me a screwdriver and said, “Ignition’s a little tricky. Just wiggle it around ‘til she purrs.” Or maybe a USB cable, like: “Plug it in, car’s Bluetooth only.”

At that point, I realized I wasn’t at a car rental. No. I was starring in Season 3 of Breaking Down: The Rental Edition.

I could write so many bad things, but it would be a waste of time because they will never accept responsibility. We traded in 6 cars in a week and a half be cause they all broke down on us, they all have over 300 thousand miles, they come bone dry (no oil, etc.), the they act like it’s your fault, and will leave you stranded. They are beyond rude, except for the young kid that worked upfront twice, he was very nice. But the main guy that works upfront hates his life, and thier main guys that work for them are unbelievably nasty… he answered the phone and said “What Hope” like I was bothering him, when it was the first time i had called, because the car overheated and a belt snapped.
I dont know how they are still in business.

This place is okay if you need a vehicle on the weekends and other places aren’t available or have ridiculous standards for renting a vehicle. But be aware. If you rent a vehicle for a week and bring the vehicle back a few days early, you don’t get refunded for the days you didn’t need the vehicle!
