I still filled out an application for my husband with ALS then saw all the negative reviews. Mailed in our application and it took them over 2 months to send back and it was "incomplete" Thank goodness the ALS chapter provides transportation to and from doctor clinics. Would not use this service at all!
This service was much better before I took hiatus in Illinois for 2022 but after returning from Illinois the service in 2023 and since has been stressful.. Pick up times are not available even when calling a week or 2 in advance. The vehicles are mostly late I'd say about 80% of the time. Driver's will pull up on a hot or cold day and fill out their clipboard before even thinking about getting a client onboard. Driver's don't use the GPS on the van instead they put my home address in to their phone. Sounds like a privacy issue to me. Driver's make clients wait on the van while they go to the bathroom on client time instead of their break or lunch time. How did this service get so bad after being what I thought was so good...
I am forced to use this service for my mother and I have never had to be subjected to such disrespect by the reservation team. I called one day and was told that the reservation lady is training and I was fine with that but 25 minutes later I was still waiting to get a pick up time, some guy that referred to himself as a trainer had the edacity to get upset because I asked if we can get this done took over the phone call and practically called me out my name. I almost went down there any how it wasn't my first bad experience with them and I am sure it wont be a last . These people need a customer service training conducted by QT. If they ever talk to my mother and put her under the stress they have thrown at me , I promise I will find a way too sue them. Just for everyone's information you may file a formal complaint against any city of agency at the Mayor's office they supervise all City of Phoenix agencies.
I am currently waiting for my Phoenix Dial A Ride in the cold in a dark, vacant parking lot. My ride is running late to pick me up because the driver has to eat lunch. The scheduler, Miriam refused to send another vehicle and would not let me speak to a supervisor. Of course, the supervisor is not there. Phoenix Dial A Ride is putting my safety and health at risk. I can't give them a negative rating but I would like to. They just added another 25 minutes to my pickup. This poor service is not what we are paying for. Their contract is not written with the purpose of leaving passengers stranded and putting our health at risk.
This has improved my quality of life. The drivers are safe and compassionate. Most of the complaints come from people that expect "taxi" service. This is a ride share and as long as you give yourself time to get where you are going it is stress free. I had bad experiences with total ride but the actual DAR bus rides are awesome!
I've had dial a ride for over 10years and yeah there is a mess up every once in awhile but nothing like this. I just moved two weeks ago and between deposits and rent that leaves me with necessities. Dial a ride has no showed me 4 times in 1 week. Even though the driver is supposed to come to the door they never do and when i try to explain the situation they ignore it. Now I get to explain to my boss tommorrow that I have no way to get to work for the next week a half. People like me rely on to get me to and from work. And be able to afford it. This is not fair how am I supposed to pay my bills when you keep messing up!
I paid my mothers monthly dial a ride pass with a credit card in December 2022 and mailed them the card information on the authorization form they provided. Today Raphael, their CSR supervisor told me they did not receive the updated authorization form and that she was past due. Would need to pay for the month passed, which I did with him over the phone. I was then told that she would have no monthly pass for the month of July and would need to pay retail rate for her rides for the entire month of July. sh would then be reinstated on the monthly pass for August. I told the CSR, Raphael that that was punitive and sounded like a punishment. He told me it was a penalty for not renewing on time which I attempted to do but they did not receive it. My mother is on a fixed income and depends on dial a ride to get to her lab test and doctors appointments throughout the month. How dare you, City of Phoenix take an admittedly punitive action against the customers who pay your salaries. My mother is 84 years old and ths system should be set up to be convenient for the people you serve, not for the city of Phoenix. SHAME ON YOU! I will be talking to my councilman. all others who have encountered this punitive behavior should also make your displeasure known.
