Smelly Dog

We’ve brought our dog here several times and have never had issues in the past. In fact, we even requested the same groomer this visit because previous experiences were so positive. Unfortunately, this most recent visit was completely different and extremely disappointing. We booked online and provided detailed grooming instructions, but when we arrived, none of that information was on file, and we had to repeat everything in person. We were quoted a 2–3 hour timeframe, but after three hours passed with no updates, we had to call ourselves — only then were we told it would take longer. Our dog was finally ready after five hours. When we picked him up, we were required to pay before seeing him. The haircut was drastically shorter than requested, and once we got home and inspected him closely, we discovered it was extremely uneven with obvious clipper marks and patches shaved down to the skin. Even more concerning, since the appointment our dog’s behavior has changed — he’s been clingier, more reactive to situations that never bothered him before. We’re worried something traumatizing may have happened during his time there. We have emailed the business multiple times to express our concerns and request an explanation, but we have yet to receive any response — not even an acknowledgment. This lack of accountability and communication is unacceptable, especially from a place we trusted and had positive experiences with previously. Sadly, we can no longer recommend this business based on this experience.

We’ve taken our doodle pup to this groomer multiple times. Their highly recommended groomer has a packed schedule, which is clear from their posted chart. They are upfront that if it will take too long due to mats or knots, they will shave the puppy. However, my pup, who is normally very lively, is now terrified of groomers after his experience here. Despite only having a couple of mats, he was completely shaved without any effort to work through them. He developed rashes both times, and after the second visit, the vet confirmed it was a bacterial infection caused by the grooming. The infection is severe and spread all over his body. I would not recommend this groomer. If you’re too busy or unwilling to provide proper care, please don’t accept appointments. This place has ruined the grooming experience for my puppy.

I brought my dog, Meeko, in for his first grooming appointment last Saturday at 8:30 in the morning. I was told it would take about 2-3 hours, but it ended up taking nearly 5 hours. I called twice during the day and could not get through to anyone. When I came in person, I was told there would be more delays. I had requested a teddy bear cut, a trim around his face, and half an inch off his fur. I also provided a reference photo and was told I would be contacted if he was matted so I could decide on next steps. Instead, I was never contacted, and I was asked to pay before seeing him. When I finally received Meeko, he had been shaved down completely, which was not what I asked for. His haircut was uneven, with patches on his legs and, an uneven tail. I reached out to the salon by email to share my concerns and did not receive any reply. The lack of communication during and after the appointment is disappointing, especially for a first visit. I’m very understanding but all I wanted was a respond.

I'm new here and needed a groomer for my 2 dachshunds and after finding smelly dog on Yelp they stood up to their reviews. I got my girls in for a wash and dry and they are going for a full groom this weekend. I'm going with my gut feeling but I'm positive smelly dog is our new dog groomer. My dogs were happy and looked great after their wash and dry. I would highly recommend smelly dog.

I took my little girl in this past weekend for a full grooming and she looks just lovely. She was taken care of by Ty (Tyquane). They did such a good job around her paws in trimming the hair and nails nicely. Her nails look better than when the vet's office has done them. They just look really good. They put the most adorable little bow in her hair and she smelled so good and clean. Thank you so much!

I’ve recently had the most horrific experience at Smelly Dog. I brought my baby Simba in for his 2nd haircut as a Christmas present. I felt very confident and explained exactly what I wanted. Thirty minutes before picking him up, I called and asked if they could shave him by his anal area where he gets dingleberries caught on his long hair. This is how I picked him up, (refer to pic) I called and didn’t receive a call back for 3 to 4 days. I get it, it’s Christmas Time, but guess who didn’t have a nice Christmas? Simba! Then the manager Liz texted and asked for pics and further info, NEVER ONCE APOLOGIZING. She said she would get back to me! 10 plus days later! Not a word until I text her today! Wow! Ended up taking him to my own vet. Spent $75 for this Christmas present. Oh, please note she did emphasize her offer to bring him in, and they would look at him. Not! Never, would you.! Beware!!

Absolutely love the pup-cakes sold here! My dog loves her frozen sweet treats! I started getting them for her birthday - however it is conveniently located off 7th so I just started picking them up for a fun outdoor treat on a warm day. 10/10
