I’ve been taking my dog here since I rescued him. They are very understanding and patient. He comes back looking like a fresh happy dog. I didn’t take a photo of the last grooming service but again they hit it out of the park and even allowed me to drop Whiskey off early so I could be on time for my drs appointment.

I’m so pleased to change my review. I received a call from the owner Dave who was very concerned about my experience. It really meant a lot to have him consider my negative experience and offer me a way to fix it. I received a discount and was fit in the very next day for my pup, plus her groom was great! I’m happy to say doggy daze will still receive my business!

I recently had my dog groomed at this place, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with the management. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The grooming process was seamless, and my dog looked fantastic afterward. What stood out the most was how well-organized and efficient the entire operation was. Just moved to the area and saw amazing reviews and pictures so had high hopes, instead I was HIGHLY disappointed. Prior to pickup they text and advised there was an ‘oops’ where they had to go shorter. No kidding, they went super short, choppy and made him look like a poodle. I specifically advised to leave his top knot hair long and muzzle trimmed but not short. His muzzle is completely shaved. Not to mention they completely cut his eyelashes off after saying they ‘unintentionally SHORTENED his eyelashes’. If a refund was possible I would take it in a heartbeat along with NEVER booking here again.

We have been going to art of pet grooming since Roberto was cutting from home. Over the past year and a half we’ve noticed changes to our three dogs haircuts not coming out usually to the Roberto standard. I don’t know if there was a change of management or owner, but it has really reflected in the quality of grooming in the recent years.
Today when I took one of my smaller dogs who does not like to fully stand for his grooming and will sit during them. which has not been an issue in the recent years. I received a call that they were refusing to service my dog due to him having an “anxiety attack”. I ultimately was charged $45 for a bath and a dry according to the man on the phone when I did pick up my dog, he was not fully dried at all he was very damp. I was very upset and distraught and felt betrayed after all these years of my dogs, being groomed and having no issues with Roberto. I’m starting to believe there was a change in owner without notice to the customers. Due to the change of everybody’s demeanor from the front desk to the groomers quality not being up to par. I have been on the fence of not bringing my dogs here for a while now, but the loyalty that we have with Roberto kept bringing us back. It’s a shame after this traumatizing experience we will not be here again.

A little update I was able to get him into another groomer today and he did not have an issue at all.

I’ve taken Athena here for about 3 years now…..
They always did a great job. The picture with the bow tie was a year ago. She gets the teddy bear cut around the face and short all over the body with flared out tail. She gets the mud bath which makes her coat so silky smooth and whatever they use on her She comes home smelling SO amazing.
I have been debating writing this review and if I was going to take her back or not because of that mud bath. I have not been able to find another place that does it but I’ve finally decided I’m not taking her back.
Thinking back on how scared she was when we got there and her anxiety was so crazy out of control. I was so confused cause she’s been going there for so long but this time was different. She DID NOT want to be there.
When I picked her up…….they had cut her pony tail off “by accident”. Apparently misunderstanding. I was so upset I just walked out. I didn’t say anything. They blew up my phone apologizing and offering to give me a full refund which I can appreciate and respect but it didn’t fix the experience. I was sitting in my car crying and then went inside when I calmed down and got my money back.
Accidents do happen and I’m a pretty understanding person but even the time before that they messed up cutting around her pony tail and I had to cut her hair myself to fix it, so…
Everybody seems new there, it’s not what it was and Athena is a licensed service animal so if SHE has anxiety going in somewhere….something isn’t right.
It saddens me to say goodbye but I’m hopeful we will find somewhere else.

Really caring and understanding dog grooming and Spa! Highly recommend. Even though our little rescue girl doesn’t like being touched by strangers, we could see that they very quickly understood how to get to her. It’s been very obvious and clear that she’s been handled with care and very professionally. The result is absolutely stunning, and with so much love for the detail!

The friendliest ladies from the moment we entered the doggie salon! When we we walked in, the ladies greeted my dog with a big embrace and smile. They spent two hours on him and when we came back to pick him up, our dog was so handsome and well groomed. They even took some cute pictures and gave him a lovely massage. They’re also very communicative and responsive! If you’re looking for kind and loving groomers who loves what they do, definitely come here!!

Hairy Dog always goes above and beyond for my pup! We recently took him in prior to our baby shower (we were expecting a girl) and we requested pink bows for him for the shower. They went all out and spent a lot of time making sure he looked good!!

He doesn’t love the grooming process and experiences anxiety with it since he was a puppy, but the staff at Hairy Dog treat him so well it puts my mind at ease. Would definitely recommend them for your grooming needs.

The hairy dog is amazing! I do make a 30 minute drive to Phoenix. But it’s honestly so worth it. Both my fur babies have been going to the hairy dog over the past few years now. The staff is amazing with my boys, and so very nice. My little guy does get spooked going to groomers and vet. But they’re great on making him feel at home and relaxed durning his appointment.

I’ve taken my dog here twice, and both times he came back with cuts and razor burn. The last visit was especially bad—he had severe cuts and razor burn on his private area, so painful that he couldn’t walk. He eventually developed an infection that required a vet visit, antibiotics, and other medication, costing me over $300.

While the staff refunded half of the grooming fee, they ignored my follow-ups afterward. When I finally spoke with the manager, I was told it was my fault because my dog was “too matted.” For the record, my dog was not matted. That kind of response and lack of accountability is unacceptable.

I would never recommend this place to anyone who cares about their pet’s safety and well-being

First time going to The Hairy Dog and I’m very happy with my experience. They were super friendly and took great care of my pup. He got to play all morning and his coat has never been more soft and shiny. They’re also appropriately priced in my opinion / compared to some of the other local groomers. Will definitely be going back!!

My dog Teddy is the first dog I ever parented that would not let me trim nails. Not only did the staff handle Teddy with care, they did an excellent job including a nail trim. We certainly will be long term clients, highly recommended

We usually go to a big box groomer so The Hairy Dog Experience was unexpected and a pleasure. First when you book online you will wait for their confirmation. Second, the inside is so cute and fun. The dogs are free roam. So when not being groomed they chill with the other dogs. Third, the quality of the grooming was worth every penny.
Most importantly I think my dog had a really good time. He usually can’t wait to leave the groomer. When I arrived he seemed bummed to go home.
Highly recommend!

This is our 2nd time coming here, my dog’s haircut is always soft and even. Nails trimmed perfectly. My dog has a hard time going to the groomers but he seems to do just fine here. Bernado was the one who took care of him, he even gave him a little bandana today. Thank you guys, he looks nice and clean ready for Summer.

Hair of the Dog on Greenway and Tatum is the best groomer I’ve ever had!! Just picked up Kate today. See pic attached of her happy face now that she’s had her spa day! I started going here about six months ago when my prior had appointments that were not kept or not available when I needed the grooming. I actually texted late on a Friday when my other cancelled with SOS to check availability. Not only did they call me back the same evening as a new customer, had a cancellation & got her in the next morning! That’s what I call five star service. Marissa & all groomers here run a small business. I really like that too & have my own business.They do a great grooming on Kate. Their shop is clean & smells fresh. The gals at the front always greet you with a smile & happy energy & take time to listen to your needs & how you want to have your pup cut. I now have a standing once a month appointment. They send me reminders by text for the next appointment and usually the day before. Five stars to the staff at Hair of the Dog! Highly recommend taking your dog here. Absolutely will not regret the great experience they will give you and your dog. Recommend texting them & book appointment at least a week ahead of time. Their text response may not be immediate, remember, they’re busy with the dogs. But do you get back usually later on that same day.

I have been bringing my two dogs here monthly for the past three months and I have been very happy with the service at Hair of the Dog. Great communication and dogs look fresh and clean after two hours. So glad I’ve found this place!

I texted the number on the website to inquire about pricing for bringing my golden retriever in for a bath and trim. They promptly and very kindly answered all of my questions and I was able to schedule right then and there for the next day! I brought him in and the place was very close by, easy to find, had charming decor, and smelled good when you walked in the door! It also looked very tidy. The lady at the front desk greeted us with a smile, called my dog and I both by name, and went over everything we discussed over text! I left my dog there for three hours to get the full treatment and they called to let me know he was ready to be picked up! When my husband picked Sully up, he was happy, fluffy, smelled great, and his trim was exactly what I envisioned for a golden retriever trim. They also texted me directly after his visit to ask me if I was satisfied with everything and let me know how my dog did (this was his first groomer experience), which I very much appreciate the courtesy and attention to detail. Not only was his visit reasonably priced, the customer service was amazing, and my dog looks and smells great, they made us and my dog feel seen and heard in every way. We can’t wait to go back!! 11/10 experience

Hair of the Dog grooming. We have 3 dogs and their Groomers do an Outstanding job with each one!!! They are beautifully groomed and they treat our dogs like their own! They are the Best Groomers we have ever had!! We highly recommend them!

Our little guy Sir visits Hair of the dog every Wednesday. He’s a medium sized goldendoodle who needs maintenance every week because of his fur. Hair of the dog is amazing. They leave him so so so so cute and perfect each week. Anytime I need something specific done, they get it done right away. prices are very fair. And each week he gets a super cute bandana. Customer service is great, too! They text and make everything so easy for me and our dog Sir. Another big thing, they are so kind to Sir.

The BEST groomer!! We have had issues in the past with other groomers and this team takes such good care of my poodle. She is excited to go there every time, comes out looking perfect, and she has gotten so comfortable there. They make scheduling easy, and I’m so grateful for the time and care they put into every appointment.

We’ve brought our dog here several times and have never had issues in the past. In fact, we even requested the same groomer this visit because previous experiences were so positive. Unfortunately, this most recent visit was completely different and extremely disappointing.

We booked online and provided detailed grooming instructions, but when we arrived, none of that information was on file, and we had to repeat everything in person. We were quoted a 2–3 hour timeframe, but after three hours passed with no updates, we had to call ourselves — only then were we told it would take longer. Our dog was finally ready after five hours.

When we picked him up, we were required to pay before seeing him. The haircut was drastically shorter than requested, and once we got home and inspected him closely, we discovered it was extremely uneven with obvious clipper marks and patches shaved down to the skin.

Even more concerning, since the appointment our dog’s behavior has changed — he’s been clingier, more reactive to situations that never bothered him before. We’re worried something traumatizing may have happened during his time there.

We have emailed the business multiple times to express our concerns and request an explanation, but we have yet to receive any response — not even an acknowledgment. This lack of accountability and communication is unacceptable, especially from a place we trusted and had positive experiences with previously.

Sadly, we can no longer recommend this business based on this experience.

We’ve taken our doodle pup to this groomer multiple times. Their highly recommended groomer has a packed schedule, which is clear from their posted chart. They are upfront that if it will take too long due to mats or knots, they will shave the puppy.

However, my pup, who is normally very lively, is now terrified of groomers after his experience here. Despite only having a couple of mats, he was completely shaved without any effort to work through them. He developed rashes both times, and after the second visit, the vet confirmed it was a bacterial infection caused by the grooming. The infection is severe and spread all over his body.

I would not recommend this groomer. If you’re too busy or unwilling to provide proper care, please don’t accept appointments. This place has ruined the grooming experience for my puppy.

I brought my dog, Meeko, in for his first grooming appointment last Saturday at 8:30 in the morning. I was told it would take about 2-3 hours, but it ended up taking nearly 5 hours. I called twice during the day and could not get through to anyone. When I came in person, I was told there would be more delays.

I had requested a teddy bear cut, a trim around his face, and half an inch off his fur. I also provided a reference photo and was told I would be contacted if he was matted so I could decide on next steps. Instead, I was never contacted, and I was asked to pay before seeing him. When I finally received Meeko, he had been shaved down completely, which was not what I asked for. His haircut was uneven, with patches on his legs and, an uneven tail.

I reached out to the salon by email to share my concerns and did not receive any reply. The lack of communication during and after the appointment is disappointing, especially for a first visit. I’m very understanding but all I wanted was a respond.

I’m new here and needed a groomer for my 2 dachshunds and after finding smelly dog on Yelp they stood up to their reviews. I got my girls in for a wash and dry and they are going for a full groom this weekend. I’m going with my gut feeling but I’m positive smelly dog is our new dog groomer. My dogs were happy and looked great after their wash and dry. I would highly recommend smelly dog.

I took my little girl in this past weekend for a full grooming and she looks just lovely. She was taken care of by Ty (Tyquane).
They did such a good job around her paws in trimming the hair and nails nicely. Her nails look better than when the vet’s office has done them. They just look really good.
They put the most adorable little bow in her hair and she smelled so good and clean.

I’ve recently had the most horrific experience at Smelly Dog. I brought my baby Simba in for his 2nd haircut as a Christmas present. I felt very confident and explained exactly what I wanted.
Thirty minutes before picking him up, I called and asked if they could shave him by his anal area where he gets dingleberries caught on his long hair. This is how I picked him up, (refer to pic) I called and didn’t receive a call back for 3 to 4 days. I get it, it’s Christmas Time, but guess who didn’t have a nice Christmas? Simba! Then the manager Liz texted and asked for pics and further info, NEVER ONCE APOLOGIZING. She said she would get back to me! 10 plus days later! Not a word until I text her today! Wow! Ended up taking him to my own vet. Spent $75 for this Christmas present.
Oh, please note she did emphasize her offer to bring him in, and they would look at him. Not! Never, would you.! Beware!!

Absolutely love the pup-cakes sold here! My dog loves her frozen sweet treats! I started getting them for her birthday – however it is conveniently located off 7th so I just started picking them up for a fun outdoor treat on a warm day. 10/10

Ha cambiado de dueña y la experiencia con mi gata sigue siendo muy buena. Se la ha peinado y cortado su pelito con mucho cariño y respetando sus tiempos. Muy contenta. Ya tenemos varias citas agendadas. Lo recomiendo.

Fatal… compramos un cupón de groupon que ponía que se podía comprar y usar uno por dni.
Dos meses antes lo llevo mi marido y aceptó el perro pero con pegas porque pobrete tiene 14 años y ya ponía pegas por ser mayor y porque quizás ya tenía que ir con más cuidado o perder más tiempo que otros.
A los dos meses lo llevo yo y la chica ya no quería cogerlo. Aunque reconoce que entra en las condiciones que puso en groupon por dni y menos de 10kilos el perro.
Lo coge y a los 10 minutos nos llama….
Nos dice que no lo puede coger porque mi perro según dice pesa 12kilos y en la oferta pone máximo 10 kilos. Le digo…pesalo….es un westi que todos los años hace su revisión con el veterinario y no pasa de 8 kilos…me quedé alucinando! Me dice la chica que es que lo ha pesado y después se le ha acabado la pila de la báscula….que casualidad!!!

Total tuvimos que llevarnos el perro sin cortar el pelo…

Si tienes una pelu de perros de confianza, no pruebes aquí. Yo y mi marido quisimos probar para conseguir una cercana a casa…
Y nos llevamos un chasco.

Además de que llame a la chica de buenas maneras para explicárselo y además de reírse me colgó.

Servicio impecable, no solo te atienden bien si no que te asesoran en todo lo que necesites. Mucha paciencia para recomendar y enseñar a peinar a mi gata en casa y evitar nudos y mucha paciencia y amor a la hora de tratar con el animal. También asesoran sobre la mejor alimentación para tu animalito, mi gata tiene el paladar muy fino y si necesitas innovar y encontrar productos nuevos te informan y te ayudan en todo lo que puedan.
