Tammy has been an incredible blessing to our family. She worked with all three of my children, teaching them English, writing, spelling, letter recognition, and foundational math—including addition, subtraction, and division. From the very beginning, she was consistently punctual, kind, and exceptionally patient, no matter what kind of day we were having.

What truly sets Tammy apart is the way she goes above and beyond every single time. She brings warmth and encouragement into every session, and it shows in how much my kids looked forward to learning with her. My boys, in particular, absolutely loved her teaching style and developed a genuine excitement about learning—a joy that hadn’t been there before.

Tammy helped my eldest child master long division and confidently spell many of the most commonly misspelled words, which made a huge difference in her confidence and academic progress. Her ability to meet each child at their level while still challenging them is truly remarkable.

If I could, I would hire Tammy full-time to be my children’s teacher—she’s that good. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Any family would be fortunate to have her as a tutor.

My high school age son and I have had a fantastic experience with the Tutor Doctor and specifically with tutor Julia! I had been struggling with other tutors that we have tried over the years and unfortunately we did not have a good experience. The Tutor Doctor was a game changer. Christine took time to listen to our concerns and to get to know my son. Specifically the cognitive exam was very valuable. Once we understood how our son learns best he started to excel almost immediately. We are on solid ground now. Tutor Julia is great she really inspires our son and they both are rock climbers so he thinks that is really cool. With a sigh of relief, we are looking forward to next year. Alana, from Tutor Doctor has been great to work with, my child truly enjoys his time with her. She not only has great lessons to work with my child but throughly explains to him the subject. She is also to ready adapt to any changes that may come up.

My 7th grade son was placed with tutor David Dixon. He was very friendly and personable and my son felt very comfortable discussing his challenges and seeking assistance. We saw great improvement in his math and saw his grade go from C- to an A-. We appreciate David’s help.

Brie was amazing. My daughter went from “I don’t need a tutor, it’s a waste of time and money” to “can I have Brie tutor me this year?” She received A’s in both summer school math classes, which was a huge improvement from how she did in the school year. Scheduling was a breeze, too.

Paige is a wonderful tutor. She is very patient with my autistic son. She brings a lot of teaching materials. He is making good progress.

Jacob has been an amazing math tutor for our daughter. We saw almost immediate results and he helped her grow more confident in math. We are so thankful for him!

My son and I have class with Monica once a week and I absolutely love taking her class. She is always on time and has such a wonderful personality. She does a great job at explaining how to structure sentences and questions. Some times it feels like I have too many words to learn but Monica adjusts her teaching at a pace that is comfortable for us. She gives homework appropriately and works with my schedule. I have Spanish speaking family but have never been able to pick up on the language. Now that I have been taking classes, a lot of words/phrases that I have heard forever, I finally can understand. Definitely recommend Monica for a Spanish teacher.

I spent thousands of dollars with them. I had 10 hours left that I really needed to use. They stole that from me. They said I can’t have those 10 hours because they expired. Even though when I bought them, I was told that they never expire. I asked to speak to a supervisor regarding this. They said a supervisor would call me to discuss it. I’ve never received a call from the supervisor.

Our experience with Varsity Tutors has been excellent. The organization has been extremely accommodating meeting the needs of my 12 year old daughter, who is learning Spanish though a Varsity tutor outside of school. We are doing the classes online. Our tutor they matched us with is awesome. She keeps the lessons fun and interesting and keeps the learning progressing. I participate in the lessons to help my daughter take notes and then I can practice with her during the week. I am a very satisfied customer.

We have used varsity tutors with several of our children. They helped the older kids with all of their SAT prep and study. Now my 7th grader gets extra help with math through varsity. His tutor is Leslie and our son says he can really learn with her. Varsity has great costumer service and are easy to work with. I especially like that the tutoring is one on one and they will come to your house or preferred location.

My son started learning ELA from Positive Tutors. He needs little bit support in understanding the ELA topics. His teacher referred him to join in Positive Tutors since one more student from her class improved a lot by taking classes from them. I listened to her and joined in the classes. We are very much happy with tutors Ms.Carlyn is explaining him very well and my son is able to understand and learn the concepts great. Thank you Ms.Carlyn for that !!!!

Positive TUTORING it’s such an amazing experience my daughter experience she have improved over the course of time. I would recommend anyone to check them out because the teachers are amazing and I would recommend this program to any parents out who have children that are struggling with reading ,writing ,and maths it’s a wonderful program. Very impressed with Tutor Carlyn. She is doing a awesome job with my son.

I had the privilege of enrolling my daughter in the 8th-grade math tuition class taught by Positive Tutors. and I must say, it has been a great experience for my daughter! it was evident that Miss Pauleen has expertise and dedication to teaching math. She is very kind and her ability to break down complex concepts into understandable and simple way is truly remarkable. I really recommend her as a tutor!

Our daughter is right at the age where she turns 5 after the school year starts, but could test to start kindergarten early. We brought her into Sylvan to help her gain some confidence in the learning environment and a stronger grasp on her alphabet and simple reading skills. Her tutors were absolutely amazing at identifying what she needed to work on and made learning fun for her! She wanted to practice all she was learning with us every chance she got!

Thanks to the great atmosphere Sylvan created around learning and the encouragement they offered our daughter, she went into her early entrance exam with confidence and was one of the very few students who passed! We could not recommend them enough for parents and caregivers who want to supplement their child’s learning!

The staff is courteous, kid-Friendly & accommodating to my child’s individual needs. Progress will be based on how often your child attends and Id be lying to say that I’ve seen overnight success. However, writing for my child has definitely improved since attending Sylvan. He is a 5th grader that benefits from the one on one instruction not always available in the classroom at school. He prefers Sylvan over other tutoring avenues we have tried in the past because they really strive to make learning fun and rewarding.

My daughter has been in their program for only a month and already there has been a drastic change to her attitude towards reading.

She now is interested in reading chapter books and is excited about participating in lessons at school where she used to feel unable to.

She is able to understand word questions more easily and her stress levels and self esteem have improved greatly.

I would highly recommend this program for anyone who has a child struggling to understand lessons in school. It’s truly worth it. Staff is super friendly and lessons are tailored to help your child learn at their pace.

My teenage daughter needed help with understanding her algebra class and homework! Within a few weeks her test scores improved, she has been getting lots of help with her homework and she leaves every time happy, more confident and excited to take her next algebra test! Sylvan has been a huge blessing!

I previously attended Sylvan in Scottsdale as a child and had a great experience. I decided to sign my daughter up since she’s been struggling with math. It started with a consultation after the pre-assessment and I thought the director listened to me when I emphasized on math being a key area of focus. I was eager to move forward and signed the agreement but unfortunately didn’t realize it was for ELA only. After 30 days, I had a meeting to discuss my daughter’s progress only to find out math wasn’t a part of her program. They refused to provide me another 30 days to evaluate the math assistance without paying another $900. Oh yes, it’s expensive (thousands of dollars) unless you only want like 10 hours a month. I was piloting before deciding to pay the high costs. Instead of working with me given the mistake they made, they chose to stay firm on me paying to try it out again. At that point, we agreed to part ways. Seeing the great reviews they have is hard when my experience was so different. I wish I could say it all went well. I’ll be exploring Kuman next.
