Review for Tammy – Outstanding Tutor

Tammy has been an incredible blessing to our family. She worked with all three of my children, teaching them English, writing, spelling, letter recognition, and foundational math—including addition, subtraction, and division. From the very beginning, she was consistently punctual, kind, and exceptionally patient, no matter what kind of day we were having.

What truly sets Tammy apart is the way she goes above and beyond every single time. She brings warmth and encouragement into every session, and it shows in how much my kids looked forward to learning with her. My boys, in particular, absolutely loved her teaching style and developed a genuine excitement about learning—a joy that hadn’t been there before.

Tammy helped my eldest child master long division and confidently spell many of the most commonly misspelled words, which made a huge difference in her confidence and academic progress. Her ability to meet each child at their level while still challenging them is truly remarkable.

If I could, I would hire Tammy full-time to be my children’s teacher—she’s that good. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Any family would be fortunate to have her as a tutor.

My high school age son and I have had a fantastic experience with the Tutor Doctor and specifically with tutor Julia! I had been struggling with other tutors that we have tried over the years and unfortunately we did not have a good experience. The Tutor Doctor was a game changer. Christine took time to listen to our concerns and to get to know my son. Specifically the cognitive exam was very valuable. Once we understood how our son learns best he started to excel almost immediately. We are on solid ground now. Tutor Julia is great she really inspires our son and they both are rock climbers so he thinks that is really cool. With a sigh of relief, we are looking forward to next year. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Alana, from Tutor Doctor has been great to work with, my child truly enjoys his time with her. She not only has great lessons to work with my child but throughly explains to him the subject. She is also to ready adapt to any changes that may come up.

My 7th grade son was placed with tutor David Dixon. He was very friendly and personable and my son felt very comfortable discussing his challenges and seeking assistance. We saw great improvement in his math and saw his grade go from C- to an A-. We appreciate David’s help.

Brie was amazing. My daughter went from “I don’t need a tutor, it’s a waste of time and money” to “can I have Brie tutor me this year?” She received A’s in both summer school math classes, which was a huge improvement from how she did in the school year. Scheduling was a breeze, too.

Paige is a wonderful tutor. She is very patient with my autistic son. She brings a lot of teaching materials. He is making good progress.

Jacob has been an amazing math tutor for our daughter. We saw almost immediate results and he helped her grow more confident in math. We are so thankful for him!

We have been at Music Makers for four years. My son started at 11 years old… And is now 15. We absolutely love both of our teachers… Mr. Allen for guitar and Mr. Mikey for piano. Mikey is so passionate and fun and he is incredibly talented on the piano and keyboard! Allen is GENIOUS and really pushes my son. I’m extremely happy with the progress over the last four years. Allen M is my son’s guitar teacher. Gavin has learned so much from him and he continues to challenge him not only in music, but in etiquette and has helped shape him into a confident performer. Allen has laid the groundwork for the amazing musician my son has become and this foundation is priceless and we are so thankful for his teachings. Both of my daughters have been taking music lessons at Music Makers for some time now, and the experience has been outstanding. They’ve worked with Mr. Allen, Mr. Devin, Dr. Stephanie, Ms. Claire, and Dr. Kuo — each of whom brings incredible talent, patience, and passion to their teaching.

My daughters have taken lessons in a wide variety of instruments and styles, including rock band, violin, voice, guitar, and piano. The instruction has been not only technically strong but also encouraging and fun, which has kept them both motivated and excited about learning music.

The rock band program has especially helped them grow in confidence and collaboration, while the individual lessons have built a strong foundation in skill and musicality. We are truly grateful for the care and dedication of the entire Music Makers team — it’s been a wonderful place for our kids to grow as musicians.

I’ve had such a wonderful experience at Music Makers . The studio is welcoming, well-equipped, and perfect for learning and growing musically. What truly makes it special, though, is my daughter’s instructor Miss Esther! She is not only incredibly talented and knowledgeable but also patient, encouraging, and genuinely passionate about helping students succeed.

Each lesson is well-structured, fun, and tailored to my daughters goals and skill level. Shes made more progress here than I ever expected, along with with Arizona Study Program, and she actually looks forward to each session! Whether you’re a beginner or looking to take your skills to the next level, this is the place to be.

My kids (now 11 and 14 years old) have been taking music lessons at Music Makers for over 5 years. We have had such a positive experience and would highly recommend this wonderful studio to anyone and everyone! My daughter has taken both guitar and saxophone lessons, and has also participated in rock band. She is currently taking voice lessons with Ms. Kali, who is absolutely amazing. Ms. Kali goes above and beyond, and has helped my daughter improve immensely. My son has stuck with piano lessons throughout his musical journey and loves his awesome teacher, Ms. Cindy. She makes lessons fun, and she is always enthusiastic and encouraging. Having so many musical options and instructors at one place has been great for our family. Love this dance studio. But especially recommend Zechariah (Zac). He is truly an amazing instructor. He makes every style of dance class fun,supportive and inspiring. No matter your skill level He meets you where you are and brings out your best. He makes it easy to learn and has such a positive energy always leaving me smiling. I have gained so much confidence thanks to him. I can’t recommend him highly enough for both private lessons and group lessons!!!!!

I’ve had the absolute pleasure of taking lessons with Zak for almost a year and I can confidently say he is the best instructor I’ve ever worked with. His passion for dance is infectious, and his ability to break down more complex techniques is incredible. Whether you’re a beginner, experienced dancer, looking to create a choreographed routine, or just taking lessons with a friend or partner, Zak creates a supportive, encouraging, and fun environment every time. My husband and I had the pleasure of taking dance lessons with Zak this summer, and we had an absolute blast learning the Texas two-step and salsa. Zak adapts his teaching to each student and is very in tune with different learning styles. He’s fun, personable, and made dancing exciting and approachable. If you have any interest in learning a dance look for Zak, 100%. This place is amazing, I requested some information about group and solo lessons, online. Shortly after, Zak had reached out and was able to provide me some options that were available. He was highly informative and didnt have to do much to convince me. I signed up a little under 2 months ago and have been having a blast learning the dances, as well as learning how to lead them. He is patient and knowledgeable in his craft, he took time to learn my dance style and is working to mold me into a bold rhythm dancer. I already am feeling confident in what I have learned, and am ready for Latin night every night. Thanks a million Zak!

My husband and I have been going to Fat Cat and taking lessons from Zak for at least six months. We love the space. It’s so fun to go in there and see all the various levels practicing and sharing space. Zak has been a fabulous teacher, adjusting to our needs and goals. He is the perfect ratio of fun, and effective.

My husband and I scheduled some private lessons at this studio to prepare for our first dance at our wedding. I had been here a few times before for swing night, but it was my husbands first time taking a dance class. The instructor we got paired with, Yoshi, was wonderful! She really took the time to patiently explain all of the steps and made it super simple to learn! Our first dance was beautiful and my husband and I had a great time learning some new moves. Since the subjunctive is so essential to the Spanish language, I was looking for a course with lots of examples and tests. ShareLingo has delivered this in spades and I already see the improvement in my understanding of the subjunctive, especially the compound phrases.

It’s like your invited to join the family. Administrators are very friendly and helpful. My Spanish has improved so much more! ShareLingo matched me with someone in Colombia and with someone in Spain. I am learning about cultural differences and similarities. My practice partners have become my friends. I would like to give 5 stars, but currently the study method contains a lot of errors in Spanish and English. I’ve been told that errors are a priority. Having errors is actually not bad. This place is amazing. It’s the best way aside from full immersion that exists to learn a language. It’s not like a boring classroom course, and doesn’t require you to put your life on hold to travel.

Everyone is super nice and willing to help each other learn. It’s like a club in which everyone grows together. I’m glad I was able to find Sharelingo and improve my Spanish.

I’d like to give my perspective as a teacher here for the last 7 years: The leadership here at DRMA is wonderful. Charge and Dave, co-owners, really stick true to how they believe owners should act. They are always fair and care about their mission to help anyone learn the music they want to learn. Charge has an open door to be able to talk about everything from tax advice for his employees to the best method books on guitar/drums for students. Dave is often seen fixing a door handle, helping a student with a complicated question, and then stopping by a teacher’s room because he remembered the name of that book recommendation he wanted to give you, all within 10 minutes. They are both willing to come into a lesson to help co-teach a student who, say, may be afraid to step on stage, and will talk about their own experiences openly and with compassion. Susan at the front desk will always be there to help, and if she thinks you’re having a rough day, will stop what she’s doing to make sure you feel heard. The entire team works together to go above and beyond to make sure everyone has what they need to succeed.

Everyone – parents, teachers, and students – are always welcomed in with a smile, a joke, or asking how that swim meet this weekend went. You won’t find a more welcoming environment than this. I’m honored to be a part of their team.

We have been part of this academy for over three years, and I have nothing but respect for the staff, teachers, and the entire community. My son is learning piano, and my daughter is learning violin. While my son has had some amazing teachers in the past, his current teacher, Ms. Carrie Lynn, is incredible, to say the least.

She is incredibly caring and goes above and beyond to bring out the best in my son. During a casual conversation about piano opportunities, she took the initiative to introduce me and my son to the director of Young Sounds the very next day. She encouraged my son and me to visit the studio to experience the program firsthand, and he absolutely loved it.

Now, he is practicing diligently to prepare for the upcoming auditions in May. If Ms. Lynn doesn’t have a student after his class, she generously spends an extra 10–15 minutes helping him prepare. We all love her, and we couldn’t have asked for a better piano teacher for our son!

Wanted to share my appreciation for this music school. Our trial session wasn’t “great” but I have no complaints. The young man that we got just wasn’t the right fit. We were then directed to Carrie Lynn. We’ve been with her ever since. She’s super patient, fun, and can be strict when needed… which I don’t mind at all. Sometimes my son needs to be corrected. She gives us full reports when the session is done and provides her email reports via email with fun links for review. I think what I like most is she finds ways to relate to my son which keeps is attention.
My son is learning lots and is improving each session.

I have known Carrie Lynn for three years as her student at Desert Ridge Music Academy and have nothing but positive experiences with her. Carrie Lynn is an excellent teacher who cares about her students. She takes time to get to know me, and she works on specific skills with me. I have grown tremendously as a musician with Carrie Lynn’s help and know she will be an amazing music teacher for any student.

Both my kids come here for over 2 years, great management and staff, teachers are great and have great connection with the kids.

About a year ago i was looking into getting my kindergartener into music lessons. He showed a lot of interest in singing, so after asking friends and family for recommendations, we found Desert Ridge Music Academy. Susan was super helpful in getting us familiar with how the school worked and found us a good time slot for voice lessons with Miss Carrie Lynn. My son is often anxious and timid and she put him quickly at ease. I could see confidence building in him as lessons went on, and during one session i watched him perform a song he had worked hard on. Miss Carrie Lynn encouraged him to sing loud and he enthusiastically said, “i want people to hear me sing!” Not only was his confidence boosted, but i could hear the improvement in his singing. We’re now taking piano lessons with Miss Carrie Lynn and she keeps him engaged and motivated with fun lesson plans. She’s clearly skilled in what she teaches, but also has a good sense of his strengths and areas he could use work on. She checks in after every lesson to review what they had gone over and how the work is building towards when things get more challenging. I get an email from her outlining the same information through the school portal, and i’m also able to follow up and ask questions. I’m very happy with the progress my son’s made with DRMA and Miss Carrie Lynn and highly recommend them!

Such a disappointing experience. Signed my 5 yr old daughter up for a trial singing lesson with Carrie Lynn “the collegiate teacher” Van Winkle. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very pleasant woman and given a nice tour but then, unfortunately, the “lesson” was about to start. It began by overhearing Carrie Lynn’s brash interaction with the people before us telling the young girl, maybe 10 or younger, and her mom how much work she needs to do. We then introduce ourselves and she seems annoyed by us and our young daughter. My daughter goes in the room alone for about 15 min until we are asked to join. Carrie Lynn then tells us how she normally teaches at the collegiate level, is such a “music theory nerd” and then starts to criticize my daughter’s pitch, the words would be wrong, etc. She then criticized her inability to read and said that singing lessons wouldn’t be fun because it would basically be reading lessons at this point. I could slowly see the smile and the light on my daughter’s face fade. The drive home was as fun as you could imagine for a 5 year old who just had her dreams crushed. So here’s to you Carrie Lynn, the Simon Cowell of Desert Ridge, may you have a long, illustrious career destroying hopes and dreams of young children exploring an interest in music.

Phoenix Salsa Dance offers a positive, encouraging, and fun environment to learn Salsa Dancing at any level. All of the Con clave instructors are excellent, super talented, and share great techniques and advice to improve.

I highly recommend coming into the studio for at least a few classes before going to a Salsa social or Latin Dance party.

This studio changed my life, a really special dance to Lawrence who has been my greatest mentor, Jewl , and Cristian. These people have impacted my life in ways I can’t even put to words.

Last weekend I had a beginner level class with Roberto and it was a 1000/10, he broke down all the steps in a super easy to pick up kinda way, couldn’t be happier with the experience, and all the instructors make you feel like at home, world class experience level for sure, it is a must if you are thinking about it.

I’ve been dancing with Phoenix Salsa dance for about one year and the owners Lawrence and Jewel have been amazing instructors and overall super kind people! They’re very passionate about dance and it shows in the way they teach and dance! Highly recommend this studio for anyone who is looking to get started!

Lawrence & Jewel are simply the best dance instructors! I’ve been taking classes with them for over a year now and was able to progress from a beginner to an advanced level. I always look forward to Thursday nights because of the class. They focus on partner work, technique, shines and styling. The classes are always challenging but so fun! My salsa skills have improved tremendously and so has my confidence with social dancing. The studio instructors are phenomenal and they strive for the best for all of their students. I am so grateful to have found them.

Always such a fun and welcoming environment! I came as a complete beginner to salsa dancing and I’m now hooked. The teachers are amazing and the classes are always packed so it’s fun getting to dance with a lot of different people.

Amazing classes, and instructors! So much fun too! Jewel and Lawrence are so patient and supportive. I have taken 3 of the classes here over the last 3 weeks and all have been . Beginner Salsa bootcamp, beginner salsa class on Monday nights and the styling class. What I enjoy most is being able to learn step by step and build on the steps at each class. Private lessons with Jewel have been great too in helping me to get that extra attention so my steps can be just right. Not gonna lie, its hard work, but they make it fun too. There’s a positivity here with not only the instructors but also the people in the class and an atmosphere of being able to make mistakes in a safe environment. Makes it so motivating to stick with it and then seeing yourself get better little by little feels so amazing! I am so glad I found these classes!! I would recommend any of the classes here to anyone looking for a place to learn how to dance!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff and we did a few events this year (2025).

They can accomplish up to 120 people I think and the rates are pretty good for both profit and non-profit organizations. The sound and lights are perfect for a drama, small scale concerts, presentations, rehearsals, etc.

A huge parking lot, green room, restrooms, good enough space for registration desk when needed. Sorry to highlight it but sometimes the homeless folks from the street enter the hall without performing and there is no security, so you have to manage that part on your own especially when you have kids and seniors with you.

All in all, a good and budget friendly place to host your events. Advanced booking highly recommended.

Wow! We couldn’t be more thrilled about our experience renting out the Third Street Theater for our filming event. Cadel and Esteban were truly outstanding to work with. Not only were they incredibly communicative and accommodating during the planning phase, they were an absolute JOY to be around all day. The renovations being made in the theater are truly elevating the space to the next level! Would host another group here in a heartbeat.

We run a yearly film festival out of the third street theater and were happy with the venue, plus the area has improved over the last year and that is nice to see.

I had such a great time. The readings were great! The drinks were delicious and I learned a lot I didn’t already know!

I went today, but DUE TO COVID, no exhibit.

I asked the staff today, he said this is “Free of Charge”. The exhibition never charged for ticket…..too many homeless sleep every corner outside of the building.

Such an excellent evening! Passionate performances and delicious cocktails. They even have mocktails for those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages. Highly recommend.

Drinks were great but the actors were even better. I am looking forward to when you come back.

My daughter and son have been attending Elite Preschool for the last 4+ years. Yesterday, however, was our last day at Elite. Its bittersweet to be saying goodbye to a wonderful family that took such great care of my babies. We cannot thank you enough for all the love, patience and guidance you show all the littles every single day.
We will miss all of you but we will make sure to pop back in from time to time and say hello.

My son is 2 years old and attends Elite. He loves his teachers, especially Ms. Kayla. The administration is competent, loving, and caring. The teachers leader with love and give great care and interaction with the kiddos!

The Preschool Director Angie, all the employees who work here are diligent about creating a space that is safe impactful and fun for the kids that go here! They keep a clean environment, clearly enjoy what they do and value the kids in their care. I would highly recommend.

First day was the best experience for mom and dad to take our little one to his first day of daycare. Our little one is now ready for kindergarten and it’s already hard to withdraw him for his last day but now our another little that one year old is ready and started his first day as well so they both get to have this wonderful experience of learning and developing skills

I can tell this is one of the best schools ever! I had bad experience before with my older boys it was hard for me at first but this school welcome us with open arms and been there every step of the way. It’s amazing feeling and everyone is treated equally like a big whole family. My son loves going he ready to go before I am ❤️. They send you updates during the day which I love. They always there no matter what. Everyone there is wonderful and caring. Thank you for all you do for our children.

I am so so grateful for Elite preschool. All of the staff are so friendly, it’s a very clean center, and their engagement with the children is nothing short of amazing ! My baby girl clings to me but when dropping her off, she reaches for her teachers which says a lot to me. Her development here steadily progresses and they have fun while learning. Thank you for all that y’all do, it’s so greatly appreciated.

My daughter loves coming to elite . She loves miss aubry and miss abby. Its very clean, and organized. I like that it’s based on my child needs. She has been here for almost a year and she has never come home with a bite, bruise or scratch, and she is always clean when i pick her up.
