It easy to judge a company when everything goes well, but the true test is when there are problems. I hired Diamond Stone to redo my front landscaping. The salesman, Jr, was great. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and cool under pressure. Jr told me from the first meeting that the thing that distinguished Diamond Stone from other landscaping companies was that they would keep coming back until we were satisfied. I found this out to be true!

We had some bumps and hiccoughs along the way, some on my side and some on theirs. When the project was completed, the seam in the turf was more visible than it should have been. They sent a crew to stretch it, but it still wasn’t perfect. Jr suggested waiting a couple of months for the weather to warm up and they’d try it again, and if it didn’t work, they would replace the turf. I told him I’d wait to write a review until the turf issue was resolved. Last week they came back out and re-stretched and cleaned the turf. I’m happy to report, it looks fantastic! So, as promised I’m writing my review. If everything went perfectly, I would have given a 5-stars. Instead, I’m giving a solid 4-stars and I will definitely use them again for any future projects.

I used Diamond Stone to install a block fence. I was in a time crunch as I’m an out of area owner. They put extra guys on the job to get the job completed ahead of schedule. They did a great job. Bilal communicated with me consistently and all of the guys were great!! They cleaned up after themselves when they were done.

I’ve been on AMS’s regular service for over a year now. My experiences with them have not been great.

– Charged me more than the agreed upon amount 2 times without notice (pay attention to your charges)
– Broken my property multiple times
– Keep cutting back bushes that I have requested to leave untouched since they are privacy bushes
– Uneven mowing?
– Poor service when they do come (photos attached)

I wouldn’t recommend service with them. I’d normally give them some leeway because mistakes happen, but unfortunately they continue to make the same mistakes over and over.

I just canceled my service.

Salvador and Tony were the best to work with from the beginning all the way to the finish. They helped with the design and the placement of the plants. I enjoyed having them on my project.

Tony and Cristian did an excellent and professional job installing an ocotillo plant and two other plants, tapping the irrigation line and explaining how it will work. Highly recommended.

Our backyard was just dirt when we moved in and after meeting with several companies we decided to work with Diamond Cut. Dan, the owner, is very knowledgeable about plants. He is extremely professional and easy to work with. All of our calls and emails were answered promptly and when we changed our minds about design along the way, he was always responsive. The work started exactly on time and the crew was there every day on time until the job was finished. Our job was extensive and they had it done in 2 weeks. We are very happy with our yard.

We met Mike at the Maricopa County Home Show. He was very nice and listened to our ideas and he provided us with great information about what they can do for us. After shopping around for quotes we decided to go with Diamond Cut Landscape because they were very personable and trustworthy, were priced well, and had a solid project plan before work started. Dan and team were wonderful to work with and made us feel like more than clients. They really want to earn your trust and surpass expectations. Their approach to designing our vision and execution was top-notch and we appreciated seeing the 3D CAD model of the project to really see the potential! Wendy and the office team were very nice and helpful with scheduling and answering questions. Their foreman, Daniel, was attentive, did a great job with answering my questions, and addressing my concerns. The crew was also very professional and friendly. They did a great job all around! I also want to give recognition to the “warranty guy” that completed the punch-list. He was nice, answered my questions, and finished up the final details. We are very pleased with the outcome and would definitely recommend Diamond Cut Landscape!

We found Diamond Cut Landscaping at the home and garden. We were very impressed with how transparent and open they were. We scheduled an appointment for them to come out to give an estimate on a retaining wall with a seating area incorporated. We had a total of four estimates for the project. Diamond Cut offered the best value. They were great at working on the design with us, making sure that it was exactly what we wanted. Once the design was set, they privided an itemized breakdown of the costs of the project.
We schedule the start date, and they showed up everyday on time and finish the project in a week and a half as promised. Once completed, they cleaned up the yard, all the debris, and we couldn’t ever tell they were there?
I would recommend diamond cuts landscaping to anybody, we we’re highly impressed, they follow through, and provide great service.
As a matter of fact, I’ve already started a second project with them in my backyard.

Newest Update: Dan stood by his word and fixed what he said he was going to fix and I am overall happy. It took a while to get here but do love my yard.

New Update: Dan saw my review and is doing everything he can to get the situation fixed. He is going to replant in October and make sure that we have a watering guide for the future. Thanks, Dan. Will update again.

I’m changing my star rating to 3 temporarily. Dan has assured me that he’ll get the issues reolved to our satisfaction.

I mostly love my yard. All except for the Giant hassle to get it done and now the dead plant issue. I’m going to focus on my dead plant issue here. This was a complete design and install.

The contract states plants are warrantied for 4 months and that the watering system cannot be adjusted during that time. I did as I was told and the pics below are of some of the dead $7k worth of plants.

We let Dan know and he begrudgingly said he’d replace them even though since the plants were installed on ‘X date’ (which was 14 days into the 10-12 projected working days to complete) and today was ‘Y date’ so they were no longer under warranty anymore. I was going by the contract completion date.

If his drip system and settings were doing the job, this wouldn’t have happened. I will update in October when he says he will replace the dead plants.

Dan is a very nice guy in person, but dealing with actually getting things done to our satisfaction has been a nightmare. It is pretty obvious to me, due to several issues, that they have little to no experience with xeriscape type landscapes. The original plan had a saguaro next to a lemon tree with the same drip settings. That obviously makes no sense.

None of the drip lines have any kind of emitter and so all plants get the same amount of water, whether they are a mesquite tree or a cactus. There are also no emitters / drip lines at the edge of the tree canopies, as I’ve been told / read is standard practice by arborists.

I will gladly update with more flattering photos once the plants are replaced and they are presentable.

We hired Diamond Cut to redo our backyard. From Dan’s wonderful design, to Wendy and the office team, to Mike and his work crew, everyone was helpful, hardworking and polite. The end result was beyond our expectations. We could not be happier. We would recommend them for any landscaping job.

MasterAZScapes did an AMAZING job on our yard. I had multiple quotes done as we had just moved into our 1st home and it was a new build with a dirt backyard. Zee was extremely professional, friendly, and respectful to our budget and wishes. He answered every question we had throughout the process and was even able to get our project started earlier than expected. The team that did the labor were also great, especially Carlos. The first day of the job the rest of the team had called out sick, but rather than cancel that first day, Carlos got to work by himself on our paver patio. Luke was our construction manager and was available for questions and knowledgeable about landscaping. All in all, we got everything we wanted at a reasonable price. So great I hired them a second time. From design all the way through the project, the communication is great, the crew is top notch (and like dogs!) and the office staff always lets you know what’s next (including a daily call to let you know the schedule for the next day!). Highly recommend!

We do not recommend this company. Their communication is awful. Our sales person was Troy who really talked a big game about this company. Who never called us back to help us with any issues. Not to mention Luke who was the project manager just showed he just didn’t care. We had 2000 sq ft of real grass put in our back yard that we are going to have to invest more $ into because of their negligence. The ground was not leveled appropriately. The guys that did the work sat around a little too much for what should have been only a 4 day job being disrespectful playing music as loud as they could in our back yard even after the fact my husband told them to turn it down because he is remote. The uneven ground was replaced with dirt and huge rocks that my husband and I spent at least a couple of hours pulling out of the grass that was attempted to be leveled. We didn’t realize this fact until the next day. If we were to be completely unaware of this and went to mow our yard, we could have easily had a window shattered by a flying rock. This is why we do not recommend this company. Even though these guys completed the job which was a pretty big job, the job was very sloppy. We recommend using some one else other than this company.

We had a general idea of what we wanted and needed to refresh and improve our yard, but we did not have enough knowledge of our options to settle on details and materials. Troy listened to what we wanted and needed, and made appropriate suggestions regarding the details such as the right stone, turf, and lighting for our goals. We ended up with both what we wanted and needed.
The crew was helpful and communicated well, including the staff that called in the evening to let us know the plan for the next day.
It’s been a few months since the job was completed, and we have received compliments from everyone who has seen the yard.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! My husband and I hired MasterAZscapes to install irrigation and plants throughout our backyard in March of this year. Upon meeting our salesman Troy he seemed like a nice guy and we felt like he knew what he was doing. Well we had a few issues with our backyard after installation, and after calling Troy to get these issues fixed he immediately started pointing the finger at my husband and I. WE were blamed for not knowing a plant was poisonous, even though we hired a “PROFESSIONAL” LANDSCAPING DESIGN COMPANY. We payed MasterAZscapes almost $8,000 for our landscaping and somehow we as customers are the idiots for not knowing landscaping?? I am not exaggerating when I say that as soon as you have an issue with this company EVERY SINGLE PERSON you talk to will
A) Argue with you
B) Not take any accountability
C) Blame YOU, the customer.

Not only did we have an issue with the tree, but our irrigation that we paid (one again) 8 grand for was NOT TURNED ON. So we had brand new plants not getting watered! Isn’t that great!

I called Maria (the operations manager) to have Luke come out and fix our landscaping. Once again, all of my phone calls with Maria she was incredibly rude, argumentative, and constantly playing the blame game.

After being so fed up with my experience with this company I told Maria that I will be writing a bad review because I cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism I’ve experience. Maria sent my husband and I a check for $625 (which is half a refund for the $1250 tree we paid for and had to remove ourselves). She asked that with this check I do not write this review (whoops).

In all seriousness though, I have never in my life experienced a business that was so highly unprofessional as MasterAZscapes. Once again, this company has taken zero accountability for their mistakes, and they love to blame blame blame. If you enjoy a company that loves to have arguments over the phone then by all means. If you are looking for a professional landscaping company to complete a job with diligence and care, then run far far away from MasterAZscapes.

Though I did not end up going with this company for my landscaping project, I did consult them for an estimate and review of my design. Their project manager that I worked with, Zee Herrera, was extremely helpful and attentive throughout the entire process. I had my own design drawn out as a novice designer and Zee was able to provide helpful insights, tips and recommendations without disregarding my goals with the project. I didn’t feel pressured at all during the process and felt comfortable being up front with Zee when I elected to go with a different bid. Zee was the quickest of the individuals that I worked with at providing a 3D rendering of the project which was very helpful to visualize what it would look like when done.

We searched for a landscape company for a while. Finally, we went to the home show and noticed the MasterAZscapes booth. We spoke to a young man named Derek whom we immediately felt comfortable with. After giving him our information, he set up an appointment to come to our home and put together a design for our backyard. We approved the design with a few minor changes and the process started. The staff at MasterAZscapes were very easy to work with. Maria, Sheila, Monica, Jesus and crew were a delight. Once the crew started, the project was completed quickly and with precision. We’ve been enjoying our new backyard with friends and family and we couldn’t be happier with MasterAZscapes LLC. Thank you Derek G. and team.

Matt and his crew recently came out to trim our trees in preparation for monsoon season, and they did a terrific job. The trees look fantastic—healthy, balanced, and beautifully shaped. Before leaving, they made sure everything was cleaned up thoroughly. The property looked manicured and spotless, which we truly appreciated.

We also want to recognize Gideon and his regular crew, who come twice a month to care for our shrubs and cactus. Our landscape has never looked better. Everything is neatly trimmed, healthy, and thriving.

Roger and his crew have taken very good care of us for about 5 years ever since David Goodman designed and installed our front and back outdoor areas. Noel is really professional and does a great job at a reasonable price. He was easy to contact and came up with a good design and competitive quote for our backyard renovation. Noel and his team did an great job installing artificial turf in our backyard. Not only did it look amazing, they were able to complete the job in a single day! Their pricing was very competitive compared to others as well. Overall we are so so happy with the outcome

I hired Chad and his team to completely revamp my yard, including building a new front courtyard with a fireplace, adding new pavers and replacing the irrigation and grass. They did a fantastic job and I am very happy with the new yard. Throughout the project, Chad did everything he said he was going to do, including not charging for change orders when we made small changes to the plan during the project.

I had a fantastic experience working with Chad and the Ground Zero team. My decision to use Ground Zero over other companies was because he took the time to design my perfect backyard. I had some ideas on what I wanted, and while measuring everything out in my back yard, Chad made several recommendations and adjustment so that everything tied together. That is when I saw the whole project transform my backyard. Once the project started, it was finished in about a week, and went from dirt to something amazing. I now have my dream back yard that is perfect for me and the family all year round.

Chad and his crew recently updated our backyard landscape. They showed up on time and were very profession. They even coordinated with our neighbors and made sure everyone was happy due to their being very little room to park in our cul-de-sac. When some of the work wasn’t up to Chad’s standards they ripped it out and re-did it at their expense. I hadn’t even noticed the issue. They stayed within their originally quoted budget and exceeded their originally quoted schedule. We will use Chad and his crews for all future work.

Ground Zero did an amazing job designing and installing the backyard of my new house. It went from plain dirt to a beautiful and comfortable back yard that I will enjoy for many years to come. Chad was so great to work with, responsive and helpful. He got the work done in a timely fashion and ahead of schedule, which was unexpected. He helped me make some key decisions when I had trouble doing so, and he was the expert. I am so pleased and would recommend Ground Zero highly.

The day I reached out to Ground Zero, Chad e-mailed me to schedule a call and get some more detail as to what we wanted done. Although it took a few months to get things rolling (not their fault, pavers were completely backordered everywhere due to COVID), once we got the green light things moved FAST. Our pavers, irrigation, and lighting were done in less than a week. They were understanding when we said we wanted to do a few things on our own, like sod and rock.

Jesus and his team worked tirelessly to get our yard done right. Everything was exact with our blueprints, and when our measurements were off for pavers, Jesus helped us make some changes that looked amazing. You can tell they took the time to look over everything before putting anything down. Overall we are so happy with everything. This is a preliminary review as my project is not completed yet, but this far I have been mostly happy with the work Sean and his team have accomplished. Sean is always available and is typically easily to contact so you know what is going on. His team is tidy and respectful of my neighbors, neighborhood, and property (not all contractors are). Finally, the design process has been a lot of fun. Sean provides your dream proposal and then works with your budget to make sure you get the most bang for the buck you want to spend, although watch the prices of any add-ons you get. Everyone is extremely courteous and professional.

Edit: project is finished. We did have a few snafus, but what huge project doesn’t? The only major issue was a product that did not match anyone’s expectations and Sean made it right. The entire Mountainscapers team does legitimately care about your happiness as a client so if customer service is important to you, you will get it here.

The end result for me is beautiful. I’ve posted some before and after photos. I have so much more green space, plants, pollinators, and everything I was looking for!

Sean was very generous with his time of an hour free consult over zoom. I liked that he could take a picture of our backyard and draw on the screen to show his ideas. We look forward to working with Sean and his team more in the future on our project and we are excited by his ideas and creativity.

I immediately liked his approach; he was excited to provide options and ideas for my yard. He was like an artist with a blank canvas! After talking to me and looking at my yard through map quest, his artistic mind went to work. As I had told him I didn’t know what I wanted, other than I wanted to have a very nice yard so I could enjoy. He gave me several versions until we came up with something I could live with and within my budget! I had Sean design my backyard and I absolutely love the results. Sean is truly an artist and his enthusiasm about the project makes it really fun and exciting.
