The Embers Recovery Phoenix Mental Health & Depression Treatment

I deeply respect the mission and the impact places like this have on people’s lives. Recovery takes courage and it’s inspiring to know that places like this exist to help people rebuild their lives in sobriety. Wishing continued strength and healing to all who pass through these doors.

I cannot recommend Embers Recovery based on my experience with them. Their operations seemed unusual and not transparent. While their website advertises sober living, they chose to place a number of clients in outside sober living environments, not managed or owned by The Embers. Zac Ponczak from Embers reached out to me and explained that Embers wanted to "scholarship" clients into housing and then Uber them to their clinic. After some of the clients had already been placed in housing, it became clear that many of them were primarily mental health, yet they were being housed in standard sober living environments that are not designed for that level of care. The homes they were using were in Gilbert and Chandler, meaning clients had to be transported 30–40 minutes each way to attend treatment at their Scottsdale clinic. Another issue was communication. Despite texts and emails to both Zac Ponczak and the owner, Antony Payne, I received no response. Their promised housing scholarship was also never followed through on. Overall, my experience left me feeling that their operations are poorly managed, lacking transparency, and not consistent with what they advertise.

I can’t say enough about Ember’s mental health treatment—it’s nothing short of transformative. From the deeply compassionate therapists to the personalized, evidence-based care, every aspect of the experience prioritizes healing and dignity. Their holistic approach—combining therapy, tailored treatment plans, and unwavering support—truly sets them apart. If you're seeking a program that genuinely understands and uplifts you, Ember is the place to find it.

This is one of the most impressive outpatient programs I have encountered. The facility is outstanding, and the staff is truly exceptional. They are a team of dedicated professionals who are deeply committed to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery.

This wasn't my first time in sober living, but it was definitely the best experience I've had. Very well kept and a safe environment to help guide you in you recovery. Everyone genuinely cares and is there to help along the way. A great place for anyone that is ready to Kickstart their sobriety and start enjoying life again!!
