Unbelievably good! I have never had a more moist cupcake. The chocolate was decadent but not overly sweet. Silky smooth top with the crunchy bits were a perfect complement to this cupcake. The toasted coconut was so good my friend was dancing as she took her second bite. Friendly service, great recommendation of flavors, and inviting storefront. Sooooo good! Thank you so much!

This place was awesome! They had a variety of desserts, including cupcakes and cookies. I tried the delicious margarita cupcake, which had creamy icing and actual tequila. The cowboy cookie was tasty too, and the kettle potato chips added a fun twist. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the shop is a cozy pick-up spot. I can’t wait to return!

Another great find! Everything looked so.good i couldn’t decide! Ended up with the toasted coconut cupcake , dark chocolate walnut cookies, and a brownie. All were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the staff was top notch!!! Oh and they have a take out window.

I had to take the time to review the Saguaro Sugar Cookies because all the girls at the bachelorette loved them. They were great sweet snacks over the weekend and got better day-by-day. I’d highly recommend ordering them!

Thank you, Serena & Julia! We hired Urban for our wedding this weekend of around 75 people and were blown away with their work. We got 6 different cupcakes for various dietary needs, such as dairy free and gluten free, as well as 3 different types of cookies for our reception. I’m lucky to have a few left over, because they were popular as can be! It made such a beautiful spread on our dessert table! And when we picked them up they helped us to our car and told us care instructions for keeping them overnight, the staff at the counter were so friendly and helpful in wishing us congrats. Can’t reccomend them enough for a big event!

Urban Cookies Bakeshop in Downtown Phoenix is my go-to for gourmet dessert treats! Their handcrafted cupcakes, doughnuts, cookies, and bars are beautifully made and taste outstanding. I especially love the dark chocolate sea-salt cookies and German chocolate cupcakes, each bite is rich and satisfying. They also offer delicious vegan and gluten-free options, so there’s something for everyone. The shop has a warm, upscale-casual vibe, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. A perfect stop for a sweet treat or special occasion. Highly recommend!

I’m not a cake person but I love this little shop! Their flavors are unique with new ones every week and I adore that they’re from scratch and with nothing artificial. Every cupcake I’ve tried is moist and fluffy, and not overly sweet. The shop is tiny, just an order out place with no seating but there’s plenty of parking and it’s absolutely worth the stop by!

We enjoyed the food here. My midnight sandwich was good. We really liked the potato meatball. Next time we’ll get dessert.

Large food portions for the price. Coke and Pepsi products in a can. Lots of pastry dessert options available. They even do smoothies/fruit drinks.

After my listing appointment in Glendale, I was excited to try this Cuban restaurant I had heard about. I had high hopes for a delightful meal.

The Cuban sandwich had some wonderful elements; the bread was grilled to perfection, and the ham was quite tasty. However, the pork didn’t quite match my expectations, especially compared to a memorable Cuban sandwich I had in Miami.

While I felt a bit let down today, I want to highlight the effort of the waitress, who was managing everything on her own. Although the service was understandably slow, she was doing her best to accommodate everyone.

This was my first visit, and while it may not have been the experience I hoped for, I appreciate the opportunity to explore new flavors.

Great atmosphere with great food. Tucked away in a little strip plaza but packed with deliciousness. The Media Noche sandwich (modified Cubano) was outstanding. Croquetes de Jamon were a new yummy experience for me. The ham and other ingredients were turned into a paste, breaded and fried. The empenadas had a really crispy, flaky shell. We thought the papas rellenas were a little too large, as it was a bit too much mashed potato around the meat. The crispy shell was great though. Black beans and rice were great and could be a meal by itself with a little bit of chopped chicken.

All in all, a great place that I would come back to, especially if I lived here in the Phoenix area.

This place was excellent on all levels. The food is super tasty well seasoned and freshly made, the vibe is chilled and stress free, our server he was amazing and explained everything on the menu we had questions about and we had quite a few, the value for what you paid is great. The servings are big enough to feed two people at least on the sandwiches they are well prepared and huge. Overall a great experience and will recommend to friends on their date nights. We grabbed some dessert to go as this place is also a bakery. Come and check them out you will not leave hungry I promise.

We always go here to celebrate, we have been coming here since it was a real small Mom and Pop place. We are very thankful that the food/service has not changed at all, still delicious!

Went here years ago and was happy to see it was still in business and that the food was still excellent. Here’s what we tried from best to worst: Cuban sandwich, Torta, moros y cristianos, Papa rellenos, Pollo ala plancha, and empanadas. Only thing I wouldn’t get again were the empanadas, they were pretty bland but everything was excellent.

Don’t let the small size of this restaurant fool you. Ample seating and attentive service. Food selections are fire (I.e., really good for millennials and older). Don’t miss the desserts. They’re made in house and really quite good!

Nice selection of goods here! The premade food is delicious. Of course, you are paying the premium price for many goods, but the selection is vast. All the produce looks fresh and is tasty, although some of the organic items suffer a bit for the heat. They have a wide selection of skin care/toiletry items.

I love this location. It’s smaller but they always have everything I need. Whole Foods always has all the best vegan items. They’re mostly at a reasonable price too, compared to other stores. Especially when they have sales. I’m obsessed with their store brand veggie ravioli and baked goods.

Always a notch above most supermarkets. Friendly staff but too department oriented. For example, a deli person only knows about the deli and almost nothing about other sections of the store. Same with produce, seafood etc

Wholefoods has the best fruit tart cake. The fruits are sweet and fresh. The filling custard is not too sweet. We have an event every other month and when it comes to deciding where to get a cake that we know our guests would enjoy, we always turn to Wholefoods.

The best part, it’s always available day of on display. They use seasonal fruits but if you want to request certain fruits, you’ll need to call in to reserve and even that is not guaranteed if they can source those fruits.

This location has a large bakery and cafe with lots of seating to dine in.

Love Whole Foods. I typically shop for specific things as they are more expensive than a “regular” grocery store. But love their quality products and brown butter chocolate chip cookies. Once you have them regular chocolate chip cookies aren’t as good.

This location is huge, and it has a salad bar, a coffee bar, a pizza bar, a huge selection of pastries and cakes, and a juice bar. I usually come here for the fresh juice. I believe they have a deal going on with pizzas on Fridays.

Came here for the 1st time to drop off an Amazon return. Got in the store & asked for directions to find the Amazon counter & the Caucasian male employee by produce & the freezer section just pointed & didn’t speak. Gratefully the customer service at the Amazon counter was better. Then I asked where to find zucchini pasta & only found veggie blend pasta options, not just zucchini pasta.

I arrived before the listed opening today (Christmas Eve) and they were already open. I wanted to make sure I got everything I needed before the long lines as someone else stated in a reddit review. I had no idea what I was picking up, but it was my brother’s only wish for Christmas – to have the best Pan Dulce in town.
They were kind and quick to serve.
I picked up some fresh tortillas as well!

All of the bakery goodies are delicious. They have Conchas, empanadas, etc. They’ve been my go to for over 5 years. All the ladies are Nice and Helpful. The empanadas are cooked for the right period of time, with the perfect golden crust. My favorite item from here are the tortillas, comes in handy for a Quick home cooked meal. If you stop by make sure to order the red chili Burritos, they’re delicious as well. I’ve been impressed for a long time, no disappointments at all.

One of the best Mexican bakeries I’ve ever tried. Very inexpensive and delicious. We got a wide variety of pastries in a huge bag for cheap. The staff are very nice but there was a language barrier, so we ordered mostly through pointing. Everything we tried was really good. You could taste the quality. The items we didn’t get to right away held up and reheated well.

This is my favorite place to grab authentic Mexican cookies. The tortillas are also amazing. And the tamales… this is one of the only places I’ll buy tamales.

The staff is great. All the ladies that are working are always super nice, helpful and friendly. They have a variety of pastries and sweet bread and it’s always very good and fresh. They also sell homemade tortillas for $6 per dozen which is great for the quality. They offer red and green shredded beef burritos for $5 as well. I also enjoy when they put out holiday themed items. I believe they also sell tamales but I have yet to try those. Everything tastes very authentic and you can tell it’s made fresh. You can even see them making the tortillas at times too. All their items always look colorful, fun and appetizing. Love coming here!

Went to the other branch on my last trip to Phoenix and couldn’t leave this time without getting some more Mexican baked stuff.

Much smaller outlet then the original store but definitely the same good quality product!
No lines at all, so the person working there was able to describe everything we wanted to know about.

Peach Empanada was amazing! Filling was not too sweet, and kinda felt too little at one point, but the crust totally made up for it! Flaky and suddenly sweet and went really well with the filling. I would totally be able to have five at a time!

Bigotes (like to concha but little more dense and had the pink koncha topping swirled inside, and powdered sugar on top) was SO GOOD! It looks like a croissant but it was actually a bread. Very distinct flavor and so so good and addictive!

Super soft Conchas! So fresh and light and airy as well. Very easy to devour in under a minute, haha.

Flan was soft and smooth and sweet as last time. No sugary sweet and just the right amount of caramel flavor and overall a beautiful one.

Husband also got the square pastry with coconut on top and a dollop of vanilla pudding in the middle. He really loved it but I wasn’t too much of a fan because of the coconut and pastry going on.

Luffy would so approve— That is it, that is all ! Baklava is so juicy and full of body and a great crusted crunch encompasses. Don’t get me started on the French bread! It’s a quaint cozy bakery where all is made from scratch. The young lady that assisted me this morning 06/01/2025 was absolutely refreshing and welcoming of me. Will be a regular for certain!

Great little restaurant/bakery. The Cevapi was outstanding, ordered the large which was huge. Bread was delicious the meat was juicy and tender, so good! Highly recommend!

3/30/24: a friend had given us some bread from Balkan and we decided to check it out for ourselves this particular Saturday morning. What a great place. It’s an unassuming storefront, but the second you walk in it’s heavenly. There is plenty of parking and there is a myriad of items to curb your cravings. Aside from the baked goods, they have a small store with miscellaneous items. We didn’t look too closely at them as our eyes gravitated to their breads, desserts, and other items in the display case.

The lady behind the counter was super sweet and she explained to us about how the Figaro treat was named after the opera; that way back when, because operas were so long, during intermission, small treats (packed with sugar) were sold to help the audience stay awake for the next half of the show.

We ended up purchasing one of each dessert, a savory item, and a small drink (because the bottle was cool). I cannot remember what the hot savory item was called but hey, pastry and cheese, what more do you need? 🙂 For all of that, it only came to $29. Balkan Bakery is 22 miles from our house so it won’t be a weekly visit for us, but we will definitely return — we must try more of their baked breads.

This was my first time visiting the Balkan Bakery, and I’m already planning my next trip back! It’s a charming, family-owned spot with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I came specifically for the Burek, and it absolutely lived up to the hype—flaky, savory, and packed with flavor. You can tell everything is made with care and tradition.

If you’ve never tried Balkan baked goods before, this is the place to do it. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something delicious and authentic. So glad I found this spot!

Woke up this morning and decided I wanted to try this place. Not disappointed, more like outstandingly impressed. I shared this spiced meat and flakery pastry with my hubby and it was amazing. I swear they make their own yogurt because it tasted prefect with the meat pastry. I can’t wait to try the puff pastries I got. I wonder, if they make their own yogurt, they might make their own butter, which would make the pastry cream in the cream puffs to die for.

This place is a hidden gem in northern Phoenix! The restaurant is clean and looks nice inside, food is inexpensive and tastes really good! I had the Cevapi with Kajmak and the Keks Torta and both were really good! I’ll definitely be coming back!

I just ate at this place tonight. And seeing as how I’m on a taco Quest to try different places, I figured I’d start reviewing some of them. To keep it short and simple this place is fantastic. Great tacos, I had the carne asada which is always my go-to. Is more shredded than cut, had a full fantastic flavor, all of the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The corn tortillas were perfect and soft. My friends had the al pastor and the tripas and they all raved about them. The al pastor tacos came with pineapple and really looked fantastic. I will definitely be coming back in the future to try some of the other tacos. The prices are pretty good and I’m told they have $2 Taco Tuesdays. I don’t think you can go wrong with this place. The tables are small, but aside from that I loved the experience!

This place is such a hidden gem! We ordered catering for birthday and everything was amazing, plus we grabbed some homemade chips, salsa, cheese, sweet bread, and limes tons of leftovers and it was all so good. If you don’t speak Spanish, it’s best to order in person since the staff is super helpful, and we’ll definitely be back!

This place is amazing! They have a wide selection of pan dulce that is fresh, soft and made daily. They pack them with care to ensure they make it home safely.

Recommendations: pink swirl and the small sweet cheese filled pastry with sugar on top are my favorite. However, they’re all very good and will please any persons taste.

Their prepared meat section is also very delicious and even leaving they chased us down to give us the salsa and cilantro they were preparing for us but we forgot. They took the extra te to make sure we were happy.

This place has wonderful Puerto Rican sandwiches like the Media Noche and yummy pastries, I recommend Quesitos for dessert, they are my favorite. Don’t be fooled by the front of the little bakery as it needs an update when it comes to their ambiance and could use an improvement on their decorations. Absolutely delicious! The picture of my media noche sandwich is just half of the sandwich as portion was huge.

Sweetland and Ms.Cherly are the Best! My wedding cake was delicious and Beautiful! She was super friendly and accommodating, in spite of all they made sure my last minute holiday wedding cake was ready and delivered On time!

They are absolutely delicious.

First time at Sweet Land Cakes. Had the Pavo which had shredded turkey and cheese with a choice of mayo and/or mustard on it. Very flavorful though a bit dry! Bread was very good, slightly sweet and soft. The service was friendly but it took awhile for the lady to come out of the back. Pastries were very good as well.

No puedo recomendarlos lo suficiente. Necesitaba un pastel para el cumpleaños de un ser querido que no pude encontrar en ningún lado (es una receta brasileña, así que no es fácil encontrarlo aquí). We worked the Claudia at Sweet Land Cake for our wedding cake at Antigua Garden and it was a great experience! We picked out a few flavors to try and she suggested one more for us and it was our favorite – Gansito. White cake, white frosting (not too sweet), and thin fillings of strawberry jam and chocolate that was just right. The design of the cake was just as I was expecting with a little extra sparkle which matched my wedding perfectly.

Bread is amazing! Very fresh, also got their flan which also tasted very good. The place is a bit small and quiet but everything is clean and the lady up front was super nice!

What a DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I drove 25 miles to Phoenix because this bakery had such good reviews. I bought 1 portion of flan, bread pudding, churro and cookie. The flan and pudding were almost $5 each and they had absolutely NO FLAVOR. The churro was old and somewhat hard, the only good thing was the polvoron. It was a total waste. No one enjoyed their goods. Will NEVER GO AGAIN. Don’t waste your time and money

They are from Veracruz and they cook like we are right there! So fresh, great service and just down to earth people!

This panadería is amazing. The bread/pan dulce is always fresh as can be, fluffy, sweet and everything a good pan has to have. You can see how the pan is made, they are always making a new batch practically in front of you.

Came to Phoenix from Prescott Valley , and I can say that this is the best panederia I’ve ever gone to. Very friendly & instantly when you walk in smells so good. Man who was making bread was singing & looks like he loves his job, baking bread with love. Explains why bread tastes so delicious!! Will definitely be visiting again and telling others. Cada día están peor con el pan para hotdogs, antes estaba muy bueno, ahora lo hacen todo mal y a la hora de rellenar no se puede, aparte estaba viejo ya poniéndose duro

The only thing stopping me from giving them 2 or 1 stars is because their sonoran hot dog and talera bread are good. The pan dulce is terrible they used a lot of artificial flavoring and color that makes it taste very chemically. They only accept cash which is fine but they never have change. Last time my husband was forced to buy some candy because they didn’t have change, he was in a hurry or else he probably would have argued with them.

This place is very expensive and has a limited selection of sweet bread but they have some features that some people may like- it’s a matter of preference.

My marker for a bakery is the price and quality of their bolillos – this place charges $1/bolillo which is about 150-200% more times than other locations and the quality of their bolillo is good but different for me and does not justify price. Their bolillo was dense and not crispy on the outside. I thought the it had a good flavor if it a little salty but was not what I was looking for.

They’re also situated in a location with a small parking lot so beware if you run into issues (they do have a carport area which is easy to park at for a few minutes though).

I appreciate they cover their bread with Saran Wrap to keep the flies away but if their bread had a high turnover rate then I don’t think it would need Saran Wrap. You have to ask them for each piece of bread (you can’t grab your own unless it’s prepackaged) which might be good to enhance cleanliness but for me it’s not something I’ve ever worried about personally as I have seen other stores do it successfully while they keep their spaces looking nice and tidy.

It did not smell like fresh bread here so I question whether they make their own bread on site – it’s possible I’m wrong about this, as I’ve never asked, but I personally like it best when I can see the bread being made and you can’t see that here from the shop front. Some people would argue that making their bread off site is ok though, so that’s just a matter of preference.

Best tres leches cakes I would say for 10 years i being getting my cakes from antigua bakery, never disappoint.

Customer service varies depending on the person, a younger lady was not very help or giving me options when it came to placing a cake order. I was told that the ladies weren’t very good with cake decorations by a worker when I was picking up the cake. When I placed the order they said they weren’t going to have time to do the full decorations but most of it they were going to be able to which I was fine with we just wanted a good cake since I had bought a cake here ones before. When I picked up the cake I was so disappointed I didn’t even take a picture of how embarrassed I was with my sister for her baby shower. They didn’t do half of what they said they would do based on the picture I showed which I was aware that they were going to leave out a teddy bear drawing I wanted on the cake. The writing was ugly and the colors didn’t match. The cake was undercooked and it did not taste good. I was very disappointed by the cake but I at least expected the cake to be good and this is what really got to me. We were embarrassed with our guest that were looking forward to eating cake. It’s hard to explain how bad the taste of the cake was I paid almost $96 for a half sheet cake that went to waste. Don’t plan on referring anyone here anymore or going back.

I was excited to find a local Mexican bakery, being that I just moved near here. The reason why the 3 stars, is because of the bolillo, as it was fresh inside and crispy outside. The Pan Dulce was no good. Sadly, it tasted stale and old. I went back a second time to give it another chance and, it still tasted old—not fresh. I’ll just drive the extra miles to my old bakery.

The Antigua Bakery in Tolleson is much better than the Camelback based on the service. As for the cakes, I’ve gotten them here for years. They are so delicious and the designs always come how I want them. I place my order ahead of time and you do have to give a deposit but if you need last minute cakes they also have some with different flavors.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experience… not only did they ruin my niece cake for her birthday they refused to fix and left it horribly… and the manager still had the nerve to tell me to have a good day!! He should be ashamed of himself hes not management material… I don’t recommend no one going to this location they are so ridiculous!!! Not what I ordered and they had the picture for proof of how I wanted!!! And still charges me full price!!! Unacceptable!!!

Omg! Have to try their queso jalapeno bread. SO tasty! Its got like cream cheese, jalapeno, fresh tomatoe inside and the bread is nice and soft. Also got the apple turnover which was also tasty. Flaky soft and sweet apple filling. Bakery was very clean and employee was very attentive and willing to help. When dropping off my car at Firestone this my favorite place to visit.
