Ta Carbon Mexican Grill

I have read and heard a lot of good things about this place. I was very underwhelmed. It is an inextricably busy place set in a defunct fast food restaurant. I love a good salsa bar, but when busy this one tucked in a small corner is nearly unusable. Secondly, is there any hot salsa in Phoenix? We ordered the tacos, hazz 4.5/5, asada 3.5/5, pastor 2.5, barbacoa 1/5, and cabeza 1/5 (the last two had a baby food consistency. I continue to search for truly good Mexican food in Phoenix area.

Went here for a casual lunch and found the best tacos ever. I just had the barbacoa tacos at Ta’Carbon in Phoenix and honestly, they were the best I’ve ever had. The meat was so flavorful and tender, every bite was insane. Everything tasted super fresh, from the salad bar to all the sauces (which were amazing, btw). You can tell they really care about the quality of the food here. Definitely my new go to taco spot.

I came here for dinner on a busy Saturday night, but we still grabbed a booth despite how packed it was. The food was super tasty and authentic, especially the tender lengua and soft corn tortillas, though I had to hit the salad bar for extra flavor.

Great value tacos. The steak, green chili, and melted cheese taco (taco hazz) is my group’s clear favorite, then the al pastor, then the carne asada. These aren’t the best I had but they are pretty solid. 3 is a good snack.

If you’re looking for an authentic, no-frills taco experience, Ta’ Carbon is the place to go. I recently tried their Al Pastor and Asada tacos, and both were absolutely fantastic. The Al Pastor was perfectly seasoned, with just the right balance of smoky and sweet flavors, and the marinated pork was tender and juicy. The Asada was equally impressive—charred to perfection and packed with bold, savory taste. The tortillas were soft and fresh, adding the perfect touch to every bite. The small, casual setting gives it a cozy, local vibe, and the service is friendly and quick. Highly recommend for anyone craving some delicious tacos!

This is the Holy Grail of Tacos. A nice place to enjoy food with a Family Atmosphere. The service is quick and they always get your food made to order. If i could give more stars to Ta Carbon, I would.

I’m vegetarian open to dairy and had the perfectly executed cheese quesadilla. Grew up on the border Texas and have experienced GRAND hole in the wall award winning restaurants and can fully attest that this place carefully seasons its cheese and with the quesadilla it was PERFECT. I also had the cheese bean burrito and it was good just not out the park spectacular like the quesadilla. The POS payment setup is very straightforward and smooth. Clean place. Welcoming folk.
