I feel like this place is a pretty solid venue for something like a comedy show or low-key concerts. I would go here if the band that I was looking to hear was playing here, but it is not the venue I would pick for a rock show. I’m not a small person, but also not grossly overweight. The seats are pretty close together, and unless you consciously pull your arms in, you are definitely going to be sharing space with your neighbor. The seats are set up like a standard auditorium with steps. If anyone needs to enter or leave the row, you need to stand up to allow them to pass. My most recent seat was in the lower section right behind the walkway, so I had a little extra privacy and no one directly in front of me which was pretty optimal. The drinks, as anywhere, were significantly overpriced. Two white claws with tip came to around $35. I’ve seen a variety of shows here from comedy to instrumental to 90s rock, and I would say all experiences were decent with decent sound. They have a large screen on each side of the stage so you can get a good view pretty much anywhere. The staff is pretty active to make sure that people are not standing in common areas, which was nice. The chairs could go through a remodel at some point as they are not very comfortable, and some are getting a little old. Overall, I would go back if there was somebody I wanted to see, especially a comedian, but in general, for music, this would not be my go-to venue. Also, parking is kind of a nightmare so personally, I would either Uber, get dropped off, or take the light rail.

Nice venue for concerts and events. The building was clean, bathrooms in working order, and security throughout the building during the event tonight. There were a few hot dog vendors outside after 11pm. Floors were sticky around chairs, but considering how many people are swinging their arms around with drinks, I’m not surprised.

Arizona Financial Theatre. 5 stars. Caught the Goo Goo Dolls here and honestly, I was impressed start to finish. The whole venue has a good vibe the second you walk in. The seats were surprisingly comfortable, not the usual “hope your back doesn’t give out” kind of concert seating. The sound was dialed in perfectly. Every lyric, every guitar riff, crystal clear and not the blown-out speaker mess some places deliver. The lighting was on point too, not blinding, just right to set the tone.

Temperature inside was perfect. They somehow managed to keep it cool without turning it into a meat locker, which is a miracle in Phoenix. Parking was stupid expensive, but that’s downtown for you. At least it was easy to get in and out. Didn’t buy food or drinks because I’m not about that $14 pretzel life, but I saw plenty of people with beers and snacks, so they’ve got it covered if you’re feeling spendy.

Staff? Super friendly. Security was actually helpful instead of treating everyone like a problem. Bathrooms were shockingly clean too, which is rare at these kinds of places. Overall just a smooth, easy, great night. Would absolutely go back for another show.

Great venue for intimate concerts. Saw Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeshi- what a fantastic bunch of musicians! Easy access and arming near by.

We got the VIP experience for the Simple Plan concert. They kept us outside forever. It was just about 110 degrees outside. And there was no rush to get us inside. We had to wait for the VIP person to get there. Why wasn’t she there waiting for us. We were kept outside for up to 40 mins. I also don’t really recommend section 203 behind the sound station area. There was a couple standing in the sound area and the guys head blocked my view for the Bowling for Soup show. Im not even sure they worked there because I never saw them again. Then the lady with the bun kept blocking the rest of the shows. Yea we could’ve stood up, but then we block everyone behind us and we got seats because we wanted to sit. That area wasn’t really that worth the premium price of over $200 a ticket because of the workers standing right in the view. Especially the random couple that showed up and just stood there in the sound area for an hour. I do give 5 stars of allll the performers. Everyone put on a fantastic show. Idk if I’ll be back, and if I do it’ll be in the cheaper seats.

This is such a great venue. I’ve been to concerts and comedy shows here. You have a clear view of the stage in every seat! It is clean and well established and parking garage is near by!

Great place to see concerts. I always get my tickets on line, and my parking tickets at the same time. Garage is right across the street. Easy peazy. And Ziggy’s pizza and binball bar is only a couple blocks away.

Such an awesome place to watch a concert at! There’s a good level of security and the place is HUGE with a nice open stage. You can find somewhere to stand without feeling like someone is on top of you or pushing you. Security in the front rows gave out free water cups when I went, which is not an experience I’ve seen in other concert venues, but makes sense so you can feel hydrated through the Phoenix heat. Bathrooms are super clean and really nice and roomy too. There’s a good amount of AC in them too. Overall, love it.

We went to see Less Than Jake here a couple of weeks ago. This was my first time here and I had an absolutely amazing night! Parking is a PITA, but that’s downtown Phoenix for you. Expect to deal with annoying garages and a good amount of walking. Otherwise, this is an all around AWESOME place for live shows. It’s super easy to get right up front and see your favorite artists up close. The sound was on point, the room was nice and well ventilated, and there is a ton of space to do your thing and jam out. Definitely will be going back for future shows!!!

Have seen several shows here. Acoustics are good. Two bars downstairs. I recommend getting the mezzanine seats off you can. Great view, no crowding, seat service, etc.

Great venue to see a fantastic Band! The Pixies have been on my bucket list for decades and last night it finally happened! The Van Buren was a perfect host with easy downtime access. Parking is available nearby. I recommend reserving a spot ahead of time.

I’ve gone to a good amount of shows at the Van Buren and it’s always been a great experience especially with their sound! Although some security upon entry kind of are doing a little too much – I get it, it’s their own precautions for everyones safety. I’ve never had any issues. Staff is great – Bartenders are friendly! The Van Buren is like a bigger and better version of what the Marquee is. Parking is a hassle but of course it’s Phoenix.

I have been to the Van Buren for many shows over the years, but on May 23, 2025 they really outshined themselves! One grievance, of course, is the lack of nearby parking. I typically avoid this by getting there early, but had to work later than expected on this evening. I brought my mom who needed to enjoy the show from a wheelchair. I dropped her at the venue with a friend while I hunted for parking. When I returned, the line was quite long but the staff let us go through security without an additional wait. Once in the door two separate employees came to help guide as I rolled my mom to a fantastic, gated-off section to audience-right of the stage. It was a great, unobstructed view for her and I was able to stand nearby in the event she needed anything. Everyone working was so gracious and helpful. Navigating big events with someone with severely limited mobility is incredibly stressful but everyone at the Van Buren was truly the rock star that night.

About half the size of Brooklyn Steel with back bar and balcony overlooking industrial floor. Walkable from down town arenas. Audio and lights were high fidelity for Bohmer set. In case you wanted to hang out before a show, brewery and cocktail bar across the street. Also, located on entrance side is pizza (serves very late) and arcade. Unfortunately, you can’t reenter.

Clean well managed place for large events, plenty of views from all seating areas. Great sound system and friendly staff. Bathrooms were very clean. My o my gripe is the parking isn’t amazing here. Parking ramp is a little tight and not super well marked.

I spent a good while selecting seats that had the best view I was looking for. Their website helps a lot since it warns you if you select a seat with an obstructed view, so be sure to take that seriously! There are a few areas off to the sides (on all levels?) that block your view of half the stage. Just FYI! We enjoyed our evening and all of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. A small bottle of water was $4 but there was also a water fountain handy so I can’t complain. A can of beer was $11, but I couldn’t find a beer fountain.

My Son and his wife took My husband and I to see The Australian Pink Floyd.. It was an amazing concert. We have wheelchair in our group. We had our own balcony practically. It was great for the standers in our group also . Easy access to seats . Family restroom right outside door. Unfortunately a guest not feeling well messed that one up . But the really kind gentleman working there cleared men’s room and stood guard so I could take him in . Later another kind employee helped us get the elevator to leave . It was a great musical experience and great customer service experience. Ty and will return

I’m going to go ahead and give this 5 stars, not necessarily because it’s deserving, but because I want it to continue to stay the before that it is. Always great staff, wonderful ambience and architecture, parking has become a cluster, and the seats really are cramped. Been to a few productions here, lovely acoustics too.

We had a great day visiting ASU Gammage for the Sunday matinee showing of Wicked.

This was my first visit to Gammage, a staple for the Phoenix art scene, and I came away quite impressed with the theater.

Parking was easy, with plenty of space right outside. We were able to get in and out quickly and walk to the building in minutes.

The layout and ease of movement is nice, very accommodating to a dad with his three girls. We were in the middle balcony and made in from door to seat in just a few minutes.

While not a theater buff, the sights and sounds were unbelievable! I’ll have to catch more shows here to confirm but I’ve heard nothing to the contrary.

All in, quite impressed with Gammage and I look forward to another show at the facility.

I’ve seen several performances/shows at Gammage Auditorium, and I love this venue. One of my favorite shows that came to Gammage with a stellar performance was Hamilton. And if you’re not a fan of traditional Broadway show…never fear…you’ll discover a wide variety of shows and performances. We’ve also gone to Gammage to see The Blue Man Group, The Adams Family, Flashdance, Annie, Wicked, and so many more. Take a peek at what’s coming and find something amazing to add to your calendar.

I’ve always love going to see shows at Gammage. It’s a nice venue. Great shows, nice staff, good drinks & snacks plus the seats have plenty of leg room. I’m tall plus wear heels and I have enough room to cross my legs and sit comfortably. We saw Moulin Rouge this time and it was fantastic. Life of Pi the last time, which was amazing.

Loved the experience! The seats were comfortable, and I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house. Great refreshments and snacks before the show and during intermission.

Incredible hour and a half long tour of the historic Orpheum theater given by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers on Tuesday afternoons. They take you through the lobby, auditorium, balcony, backstage, and stage areas, all while explaining the history and inner workings of the theater and it’s unique decor. A beautiful sight to behold and interesting to explore behind the scenes. Our group even had the pleasure of hearing the theater organ in action. This tour is free, wheelchair accommodating, and definitely worth attending when you have the time. RSVP online and give yourself extra time to find parking nearby!

The Orpheum is one of the most beautiful venues! So ornate with art deco and design on every wall and ceiling! Inside the theatre before the show begins, you can enjoy a simulated sky with dawn, dusk, and night time, including a moon and shooting stars. The acoustics were amazing, the staff and volunteers were friendly and very helpful, and the seats were comfy (although be aware that front row seats in the balcony sections have less leg room due to the pony wall). And ladies, check out the fancy women’s bathroom in the lower level!

Wonderful experience! Great staff. Beautiful historic building. The live organ playing to Charlie Chaplin silent film was an amazing experience! More of these types if events! Going to the Ghost Tour in Oct 2025.

The place is beautiful no doubts about it , but the seating chairs are to uncomfortable because everytime someone has to pass in front of you you got to get up and lean back so they can get out to the aile , the seating spacing between your seat and the one in front is way to reduce and uncomfortable to be enjoying the show when people are getting in to their seat or out ..

What a fine treasure of a venue. Half the fun of coming to a show here is just experiencing the building, history, and beautiful interior of the Orpheum. The friendly staff is always helpful, and it’s entirely wheelchair accessible. The acoustics are excellent for bands, and the theater quality is fantastic. I’ve got to get down there for a tour someday. I’d love to see behind the scenes!

We were there for the Arizona High School Athlete of the Year Awards. The staff was competent and friendly. If you have the chance to go there, so.

The incomparable Celebrity Theatre is one of the most, if not the most, iconic venues in the Valley of the Sun. With its center rotating stage, there’s not a bad seat in the house. I’ve been to this venue on multiple occasions, and I’ve seen numerous acts perform here.

The remodeled Rock & Roll decor works extremely well in the lounge.

Extremely fast bar service.

It’s not the newest, nor is it the biggest venue, but they definitely know how to bring in the best entertainment the music industry has to offer.

Great concert: One Night of Queen! This historic musical national landmark just doesn’t disappoint! Small, intimate setting where everyone can see the action!

It’s not bad.
With a circular stage and small enough venue, most seats are good. This view is from nearly the back (sec B-14, row 19).
The circular stage is only as good as the entertainer is at using it. We saw a comedian and while she did her best to talk 360° many times we were staring at her back.
They do have screens which would have helped, but you can see in our pic the one closest to us was off.
It was quick entrance with security. Your purse does have to be clear or a small size, (I had a small crossbody which they sent me away for but my mom had a call phone crossbody that just holds a phone and credit cards and she got in.)
The inside is giving 1980s movie theater with 2025 prices. A pretzel was $9, they sold popcorn, a lot of different drinks, etc. You needed a stamp pre entrance to buy alcohol.
Everyone who worked there was kind and courteous and bathrooms were clean.
Location is okay and parking was about $30. We prepaid for it.

I’ve been here a few times and if there’s someone I want to see, the venue won’t dissuade me.

A hidden (to many) gem in the concert scene. A stage in the round means you can see all angles of the show, watching the drummer from behind but also the lead singer in front of you, too…

Plentiful and cheap parking. Great sound and lights. Food could be better but the drinks like margaritas are really good. Bathrooms definitely need a refresh.

But an iconic place with lots of history that still has game.

The theater is small, so you can see your favorite artist up close. The lounge bar is nice, and the staff is very friendly. The only problem I noticed was the uncomfortable seats.

I’ve seen so many amazing concerts and shows here. It’s truly the best venue in Arizona. There’s no bad seat. The rotating stage really gives it a unique touch.

It was good, I enjoyed it. Get there early to get drinks, mingle, use restroom and freshen up. Once the show starts you can only leave the theater, you cannot reenter the show. Upper outer balcony has a nice art display. The bar has cocktails, hot chocolate, and Pepsi products. Also you pick your own seats in your section.

It’s really nice inside. Comfy chairs. Employees were nice and guided us well. Fair prices on tickets and beer. Enjoyed the show.

Saw the mad hatter show here. Excellent interior. The show had a beautiful production with great lighting and effects. Comfy seats.

Such a beautiful show and was impressed it was only an hour long. the story, stage set up, and dancing were mesmerizing and over all amazing. There were a few hiccups like dancers not hitting their lifts or the lights going out on the dresses but overall amazing!

It’s a pretty theater with a good size stage and comfy seats. Only complaint is that there isn’t much space between rows… pretty tight.. there’s no walking past anyone in the row. We saw High school musical by valleyy youth theater and had a fun time.

Update 3/19/2025 Today, I attended the Herberger lunchtime theater for the first time and am hooked already! Each season is five months and five shows. They run 1-2 weeks each, Mon thru Thur, start at 12:10 in the afternoon, and are less than one hour long. You can even prepay for lunch, provided by the nextdoor neighbor, Huss Brewing, to be waiting for you as you arrive in the theater.

Show tickets are only $10 each. Lunch is only $12, and you pick from a dew different sandwiches or salads, and each one includes chips and a cookie. I would suggest arriving 10 or more mounties early so that you can enjoy your lunch without feeling disruptive to the play.

I saw The Moment, which is running one more time, tomorrow at 12:10. It’s a play, in progress. It’s only one act so far and is in the works, so it was fun to be a part of it and to hang around afterward to give feedback to the writer. The play is about how Barack Obama announces his run for president and how that affects a Washington DC black family and the trajectory of their lives. I cried and also enjoyed the group of elderly black women sitting behind me as they giggled over handsome younger photos of President Obama and how they commented on historical events that they themselves lived through. It was a moving moment to be a part of.

Location is easy to find, and parking is close to the box office. The area is ADA friendly. There is a large wonderful garden to use as a backdrop for photos. To rehydrate whether via water or colorful alcoholic beverages, there is a bar with seating and small tables. Offered is the ability to buy a drink now and another for the intermission break. Since it’s about a 30-yard walk between the theatre and the bar, you’ll find your drink brought and just outside the entrance. What a wonderful idea! There are plenty of personnel to guide you to your seat. Be aware . you purchase a seat in the rear, and you’ll be shoulder to shoulder with a stranger. However, to avoid that, there are seats with a small table closer to the stage.
Attire was unusually casual. A light sweater wasn’t needed. Restrooms were clean.
What you need to know:
a. The entire set up is conducive to everyone treating you as a valued person.
b. Smile and staff will approach you.
c. Drinks: are pricey. The four alcoholic drinks I purchased cost $60.
d. Hang out: It’s definitely worth arriving early 20 minutes to get your drinks (should you be with another), walk the garden, and leisurely get to your seats.
e. Age range: I would say 50-upwards. If you’re younger, try it out as you’ll be welcomed and laugh.
f. The audience, as well as the staff, were friendly.

Always Smile and say Hello to a stranger, on that day, they may need it more than us.

I recently saw Jersey Boys at the Phoenix Theatre Company, and let me tell you—it was electric! From the very first note to the final bow, the energy, talent, and heart on that stage were absolutely unmatched. I’ve been coming to this theater since 2008, and while the space has grown and evolved over the years, one thing has stayed the same: the pure magic that happens here.

The actors are phenomenal, the crew runs a seamless show, and the staff always makes you feel like a welcomed guest at something truly special. Every production I’ve seen here has blown me away, but Jersey Boys had me dancing in my seat and singing all the way home. (Frankie Valli high notes included.)

I didn’t even make it to the parking lot before I was already searching for tickets to their next production—Into the Woods! If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor: grab a ticket, dress up a little, and prepare to be amazed. The Phoenix Theatre Company is a true gem in the Valley and continues to prove that Broadway-level talent lives right here in Arizona!

We saw Into the Woods and thought it was phenomenal! Everyone was so talented and the drinks before were delicious. I love the atmosphere and we’ve enjoyed every show we’ve seen here. Definitely recommend.

On April 1, we started my daughter’s birthday month with Jersey boys front row. We are culture, vultures, and thespians. First of all, we were so grateful for the two for one tickets on Tuesdays. Second of all, this was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. This Theatre company never disappoints.

The Phoenix Theater is an Arizona treasure! Intimate setting in the theater, with a focus on the action! Don’t forget to get a drink at the full service bar and grab some food off the well-appointed menu selections.
Grab a friend, buy some tix, eat at the restaurant and enjoy the show(s)!!

The venue is beautiful, the sound system was great. I like that it had drinks and snacks to purchase before you went in. I will attend another event there.

We try to catch as many showings here as possible and just saw Churchill. It’s a great theater with great performances and actors. Fairly well priced tickets with the occasional promotions as well. They also have cheap tickets for artists and students.
