The indoor pool is great. We arrived later in the day so didn’t have a chance to visit the rest of the facility but it is a big place. I seen a library, an outdoor splash pad, indoor gym, and a arts and catfish crafts area.
You pay a fee for the day which covers access to the whole facility.
Our family of 5 visited for a total of $69.
The pool has a big slide our 8 year old was able to enjoy and a rock wall.
Outdoor splash pad, library
Very friendly family atmosphere.

Great place with a lot of things to do. Horrible girls for customer service. I signed up online, thinking my daughter didn’t need a pass.
I came in to upgrade, and the lady at the front desk was too cool for school and couldn’t be bothered with simple customer service things like eye contact or presence.
Then, we checked out the game room and that was super fun. Video games, ping pong table, nice TVs. Then we went swimming and apparently my daughter chose to swim in the “swim group” section she wasn’t supposed to.
The lifeguard (another girl too cool to speak up in the loud pool area, rolling her eyes when I asked her to speak up) asked her to move, which was fine, but they expect you to know the rules and are extremely rude when you ask for clarification on what they’re talking about.
Also, super super crowded in the evening. We’ll try mornings next.

We attended the Nick and Kelly Heart Event at the Kroc Center hosted by Phoenix Childrens Hospital, and I just want to say how grateful I am that they put this together. After my daughter’s fourth open-heart surgery, finding a place like the Kroc Center — welcoming, fun, and full of activities for kids — meant the world to us. It was an awesome event, and the heart behind it truly showed. Thank you for making families like ours feel seen and supported.

I’ve been to a couple of events in the auditorium. The acoustics are good, and the staff are helpful. It is a smaller venue with limited parking, so you might want to arrive early if the artist you are seeing is popular.

This place is amazing. I took my grandkids, we had 7 people in our group the total for entry 89.00. The kids swam, rock claimed, played in the game room, and just ran around and had fun all day. The building is clean, the restrooms are clean, The employees are always helpful and accommodating. Thank you for having my family we had a great time. I would definitely recommend.

We’ve been attending for nearly 6 years (even during the pandemic!) and are beyond satisfied with everything about Hubbard. We recommend it to everyone and we drive 30 miles past several other swim schools to get the quality we love from Hubbard each week.

We absolutely love Hubbard, our kids have been going for years. We were recommended to go here by another neighborhood family that send all three of their kids here and we couldn’t be happier. Our kids LOVE going, they have learned excellent fundamentals, and other parents routinely comment about how good they are at swimming now. As an added bonus they make good cheap cappuccinos and lattes at the snack bar, so as a parent bringing kids to morning swim class, win-win!

The absolute best swim school! The staff are amazing. We’ve been coming here for over 7 years, it’s great having the peace of mind that my children have and good understanding of water safety. Every coach we’ve had has been amazing and very supportive of my children at each stage they are in. I 100% recommend Hubbard!

Hubbard has been absolutely amazing with my special needs son. He has had two different instructors through our years there and both have been extra patient and accommodating. My son is super smitten with Mr Victor. He has made amazing progress and is able to swim well enough now that I’m not nearly worried about him around water. Highly recommend!

The location that we visit is on 32nd street in North Phoenix. The facilities are always clean, well organized, structured and well staffed. We have found every one at this location to be very professional, respectful, kind, accommodating and caring. People who work here genuinely care about the children and it shows in their manners and demeanors as well. Our child is a special needs child and the staff has gone above and beyond anything that we could have expected from them. They are patient, thoughtful, kind, respectful and attentive to what our child needs both inside the pool and in the building. They make learning to swim fun and our child looks forward to going there every week enthusiastically. We as a family are thankful for their support as our child learns a life skill that will stay with him all his life. While I can’t speak for all of their locations around town, I can let you know my honest opinion about the 32nd street and Thunderbird location in this review.

My son started at Hubbard when he was 2 months old. He LOVED water! Loved baths! He was confident and happy anytime he hit water! We left when he was 10 months because we were looking for a fixed price and we found it at Aqua Tots. However just 6-7 classes into Aqua Tots, my son would scream and cry anytime he saw the pool. He was constantly screaming and crying during the lesson. He would refuse to do things he previously loved during a lesson. He hated baths which was never something we struggled with. The staff there had traumatized him to no end.Anyways, I brought my son back to Hubbard and I explained to the staff his drastic change. Coach Robbie and Coach Sarah have been incredible! Patient and understanding with us. We’ve been back about 8 times and my son acts as if he was never traumatized. He loves the water again! Last night he actually asked for a bath for the first time since his time at Aqua tots and he was excited for it again. I’m so pleased with Hubbard and I fully believe that the way they handle children and the way the lessons are created really work. I’m so grateful that they were able to bring back my little boy’s joy in the water.

Unfortunately, the member of the phone (Seemed like she worked in a call center) was very helpful to my fiance, as soon as I started asking questions she seemed worried. I asked if we could sign up for classes and she asked for what after we just had a whole conversation on which class would best fit my child. She seemed like she did not want to help and kept pushing us to use the website. If we wanted to do it online we could have. Very disappointed because we have heard so many good things about the instructors here but the staff alone, is keeping us away at the moment.

I’ve been bringing the child I care for to swim classes with Coach Conner, and the experience has been nothing short of excellent. From the very first class, Coach Conner made him feel safe, comfortable, and excited to learn.
Coach Conner has a fantastic way of connecting with kids — he’s patient, encouraging, and knows how to make each lesson both fun and productive. I’ve noticed a big improvement in the child’s confidence in the water, as well as steady progress in his swimming skills. Coach Conner takes the time to explain techniques clearly and always makes sure each child gets personal attention.
What I especially appreciate is his focus on water safety alongside skill development. It’s reassuring to see a coach who truly cares about each student’s well-being and growth.
I would highly recommend Coach Conner’s swim classes to any parent or caregiver looking for a supportive, professional, and engaging instructor. He’s truly made a positive impact

Great service! The employees are upbeat/fun! They are knowledgeable about what they teach and care so much for the kids! The determination to keep kids safe in the water is seen through their smiles! Wish I didn’t know how to swim so that I could take lessons there myself! Oh also Mitch and Carson are great!

My son has been attending Aqua-tots for the past four years, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very first lesson, the instructors have been encouraging and skilled at working with children of all ages and confidence levels.
Over the years, we’ve seen growth in both his swimming ability and his confidence in the water. He loves the water and looks forward to his class every week.
The teachers provide feedback after every class and everyone knows us by our name. Everyone is kind and approachable. Classes are fun, and we will continue taking classes here for a long time.

We are so glad we chose Aqua Tots for our child’s swim journey. My kiddo loves coming here so much! She has had multiple coaches and has done great transitioning with each of them. Her current coach Mackenzie knows how to keep the kids motivated and focused during class. Another one of our favorite things is that they offer makeup classes. This is something that helps a lot for a family that has a crazy schedule! We are 2 years in and it’s been so awesome seeing all the progress that has happened. Our kiddo gets so many compliments for how well she swims at such a young age thanks to Aqua Tots!

2 months in and we have nothing but positive things to say about Aqua-Tots, and the instructors. My daughter’s swimming instructors have been great. Very thorough in teaching, making sure my daughter understood each skill and technique, challenges to keep her motivated and growing. I really appreciate the detailed feedback we receive after each lesson- it shows they care about her progress. Overall, an amazing experience and staff who have made swimming both fun and productive! Highly recommend.

The entire team at Aqua-Tots, Ahwatukee are absolutely phenomenal! From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed with warmth, kindness, and genuine care. Every single staff member goes above and beyond to make sure the kids feel safe, confident, and excited to learn. Their patience, professionalism, and positive energy are unmatched – you can tell they truly love what they do.
The instructors are incredibly skilled at connecting with children, making every lesson both fun and highly effective. The progress we’ve seen has been amazing, and it’s all thanks to their dedication and passion for teaching water safety and swimming. The front desk team is just as wonderful – always friendly, organized, and willing to help with anything we need.
Aqua-Tots doesn’t just teach swimming – they build confidence, trust, and life-saving skills in a supportive, joyful environment. We couldn’t be happier and can’t recommend this incredible staff enough. Five stars all the way – if we could give ten, we would!

Everyone at Aqua Tots has been incredible to work with! The teachers are friendly, supportive, and really encouraging. The app and scheduling are very user friendly. Our son went from refusing to get into the water to now jumping in cannon ball style. We’re really grateful for this community helping to teach our son water safety skills.

I don’t know how to start this review as I am very appreciative of Aqua-Tots, amazing and kind front staff that always greets my little family and I with a smile when we come in and when we leave. Mia especially since our first time has always been kind and helpful. Also, shout out to Coach Samantha, since the first class (evaluation class) our child has expressed gratitude towards her and loves his coach Sam for being nice to him and boosting his confidence in the water. As parents we have seen the progress in our child and we are very grateful for Coach Samantha and Coach Ryder. Our child has leveled up now and got a little sad that he won’t be with his same coaches but I know he will also come to love his new coaches! Again, thank you Aqua-Tots for being a very family friendly place and having very professional, supportive, amazing staff members!

We have been bringing our kids for swimming lessons here for years. The price for lessons is very affordable for a big family like ours. The instructors are friendly and patient with the kids. Lessons are 30 minutes long and last two weeks. We also enjoy open swim after swimming lessons; kids get in free and adults only pay $3. Overall this is a safe and clean public pool.

Today I visited this pool with my four sons. I was very surprised that it is free for children, and only 3 dollars for adults. The conditions are great. The water is clean, and the guards walk like tigers, back and forth, back and forth, super super save !!! Everything is under attention. And I am very grateful to this place. I really liked it. thank you !!

Took the family here to cool off for the day. Prices are pretty fair. Kids are free and 3 bucks per adult. They have a separate pool for kids that goes up to 3 feet deep with a decent sized slide attached to it. There’s a lifeguard in the water to catch any child that needs the help when using the slide. The 2nd pool is bigger and goes up to 12 feet deep but split into two sides. Any deeper than 6 ft, one has to do a quick swimming demonstration to show that they are able to swim and tread water. There are plenty of lifeguards on watch and they provide life vests for anyone who needs them.

We used to go to Hubbard and while the instructors were excellent, the classes were very full and it was almost impossible to make-up classes. There also did not feel like there was much advancement or feedback.
We moved over to aqua-tots at the recommendation of a friend who had been taking her son there for years and both kids adapted really well. Classes are small, so the instructors knew the kids, they were consistent in the program even if there was a change in the instructor, and both my kids have made marked improvement in the 7 months we have been there, always with feedback after class.

My children have been attending this aquatots location for almost a year now. The staff here is amazing and has been so friendly. In the beginning my children were very apprehensive. All of the staff including the deck manager, wonderful ladies at the front desk and coaches wasted no time stepping in to help in anyway they can. My kids are very comfortable with all the coaches and now look forward to coming every week. They have made tremendous progress and I feel much better about their water safety skills now. Super glad I chose to put my kids in. It’s now a staple activity for us twice a week. No complaints

This place was a wonderful place for my son to learn to swim. My son was very scared of the pool due to falling in with his tricycle when he was younger and their instructors were patient, positive and fun. We had tried private lessons before but nothing compared to the experience we had at this aqua tots. My son now loves swimming. Thank you!!!

Our son has been taking lessons here since he was a little under 2.5 years old and he’s loved it from the beginning. He’s made great progress that has made us feel confident with him around pools. I’ve had years of taking my grandkids to Aquatots and it was mostly the Paradise Valley Aquatots. But I’ve been going to this location for my other grandchild and seeing a slimy pool where they had NOT cleaned it and had to ask the parents to get out is unacceptable. The parents should have never gotten in with their kids. Especially when instructors are in the pool all the time, it should be something they notice first. This is a sanitary and health risk and Aquatots knows better. Step it up!

I was really anxious during my daughter’s first swim lesson and Jeanette was kind and patient while I was working through my emotions. She took the time to reassure me. My daughter Lydia cried the entire time. I’m so glad we continued lessons despite that emotional first one. Lydia has gained confidence through swim lessons and we have both made new friends. We love aquatots!

My nephew started classes earlier this year and he was very hesitant about being in a new environment with unknown people, but Tara made him feel so welcome. She’s constantly working with him outside of the water. She’s helping to build up his confidence which is now reflecting in the water where coach Justice/Amelia have been amazing. He’s improving so much since his first class.

For initial swim lessons things were pretty good. My son spent an entire year in one level and could never move up. One year of weekly instruction and he never leveled up. Well that’s not completely true. They cancelled lessons probably close to once a month. Not only that it seemed like every lesson he was working with a different teacher. How can the kids get better if the instructor is different every couple of weeks? Wouldn’t recommend.

My son is with Aqua tots for close to 2 year , we are disappointed with progress and productivity…
1. The progress has been dead slow.. My son is level 4 (Advanced 90% progress) for last 10 months and not moved since then.. only thing I hear is working on consistency- no clarity on when he will able to move to next level… lot of friends kids quit Aqua tots for the same reason.
I’ve communicated the same to manage , so far no changes on the ground. Will wait for couple of weeks and will make decision to continue or not.
2. Actual spend time on learning per session is less than 5 ( max 5 minutes out of 30) – which is very very less.
5 – minutes will go in getting into water and started
7 minutes goes into getting out of pool and talking to parents
18 minutes where drill are performed – 4 kids so it will be 18/4=4.5 minutes per kid.

Love Encanto pool. The lifeguard staff are professional and friendly. They are approachable. They are cautious when it comes to the safety of the swimmers. The pool has a decent snack bar with a nice variety of options. The only downside is that the pool only stays open till 6 p.m.

Me and my kids are so happy with Goldfish swim school!! The staff is incredible and so patient with the kids. The gals at the front desk are so kind. They give you all of the information without the pressure to sign up for more than you’re comfortable with. My kids go once a week and over the last two months we have seen great progress with both of my kids. Drew is their coach and is exceptional at his job. My kids love working with him and look forward to swim lesson every week. We just found out that goldfish hosts fun activities for their members also!! We can’t wait for movie night!!

We have been taking our daughter here since she was 13 months old and has primarily worked with the amazing Drew as her coach. She has grown so much and absolutely loves the water! Today was our first class without me in the water, and the staff was so gracious and encouraging in the transition. We look forward to many more years and lessons! The whole staff is amazing and we are grateful to be a part of the community.

I have toddler girls who attended class for a few weeks. With the 4:1 ratio, I was concerned with how little time each child was actually getting into the water. But I thought this was normal for a class since they’d only had private at-home lessons previously. But we recently tried another aquatics program and the difference is night and day. The girls are in the water the whole class and everyone is trying the skills together. The teachers also appear more experienced and it’s cheaper with better class availability. I would definitely recommend shopping around prior to signing up for a program here.

This is our second year at Goldfish. Last year was a good experience but somehow this year is even better. It’s impeccably clean, the instructors are professiona very skilled and truly connect with my 2 swimmers. My little one is 4 and had a fear of water– the general manager saw her struggle and came along side to help her. She was a HUGE help!! After a few weeks of classes my 4 year old loves sticking her head under water and just leveled up to the next skill level! My eldest is now an independent swimmer after a few months.
This has been an incredible experience for our family that literally cant be improved upon. Thank you, Goldfish!

Ms Reanne has been an absolute gem and helped my son tremendously. We had a different instructor to start and I was kind of hesitant about the progress he was making so for that reason as well as scheduling conflicts I put in our 30 day notice. When we switched to Ms Reannes classes during those 30 days he really blossomed. She fosters such a fun but still productive environment and forms the sweetest connections with her students. We love her so much that we will absolutely be continuing.

Today we brought my 3 year old who was very apprehensive. The tears were flowing and she wouldn’t let go of me. Almost thought we needed to leave. Her instructor Sam (who I later found out was just a helper and only 2nd day on the job) was BEYOND AMAZING. I don’t think she would have actually got in the water without her. I believe she is one of the best instructors we have had an d she’s still training!!!! Also, a huge thank you to Emily who was at the front desk who was so sweet to us and talked to my daughter before and after class. She made her so happy! Thank you thank you!!!!!!

School itself is good, clean, friendly staff, both my kids go there and we love it.. the only concern is in the past 2 months, 4 or 5 clases have been cancelled due to accidents in pool, which no one can control, but what they can control is how they communicate, they just email and leave it at that, we travell for 30 mins and they dont call or send SMS.. and make up tokens are issued which are bit hard to use as finding classes common especially when 2 kids at two different times attend classes. They continue to charge and I have like 10 or so make up classes..

The workers are all pretty nice. The gym has just about everything you need. It’s not big. For family membership I would say is cheaper than other gyms. The childcare workers for the gym aren’t that great except for Laura. I avoid going on days they are there.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this YMCA location, especially regarding the actions—and inactions—of the director, Dustin. His conduct has been unprofessional, dismissive, and lacking the empathy that is absolutely necessary when working with families, especially those going through difficult circumstances like housing insecurity.
Rather than approaching situations with understanding and care, Dustin tends to deflect accountability and dismiss parent concerns. Instead of leading by example, he appears to prioritize defending his staff—some of whom he seems personally close to—over addressing real issues and ensuring the needs of families and children are met. It’s very clear that mistakes have been made under his oversight, but he refuses to acknowledge them or consider how a lack of adequate staff training may be contributing to ongoing problems.
On a separate but related note, I had a deeply upsetting experience involving my three-year-old son just days before we were dismissed from the program. My son came home with a visible scratch on his face, and no one at the YMCA reported it to me or offered an explanation. On another occasion, I arrived to pick him up and found him completely soaked in urine—left in that condition with no apparent effort to clean or comfort him. These are basic childcare standards that were simply ignored.
Rather than support us in navigating these incidents or trying to understand my son’s needs, the staff—and ultimately Dustin—seemed to come together and decide my son was a “problem.”And created the narrative around incident reports that even happened in two different areas at the same time which is concerning how staff came together to weave out the nuisance my son had 2 full days in a different section and thats the reason I stated they didnt want to deal with him.In truth, they just didn’t have the proper training to work with children who might require a little more patience or individualized attention. Instead of working to improve or accommodate, they seemed to take the easier route—keeping only the children who are easiest to manage and effectively weeding out the rest.
Every child is different, and every family has a different story. A childcare facility like the YMCA should embrace that, not shy away from it. From the moment I enrolled my son—through contact with billing and placement into a program I was never fully informed about—it was clear there was poor internal communication. One staff member would say one thing, another something else. At one point, the director even blamed the front desk staff for misinformation, yet still managed to imply that I had made the whole story up. It was hurtful and unacceptable.
Despite asking multiple times for a refund due to these serious concerns—and the fact that we were facing homelessness at the time—my request was ignored until finally acknowledged. I do appreciate that the refund was eventually granted, but the amount of stress and struggle leading up to that point was unnecessary.
The YMCA as an organization has a long-standing reputation for supporting families, and I truly believe in its mission. However, this particular branch is falling short—not because of the YMCA’s values, but because of leadership that is failing to uphold them. Dustin, as a director, should be retrained or reassessed in his position. The entire staff needs better training to handle a range of child behaviors and family circumstances with compassion, professionalism, and care.

I’m very disappointed in the leadership at this YMCA location, particularly with the director, Dustin. His conduct has been unprofessional and, frankly, dismissive when families are facing serious challenges. Rather than approaching situations with empathy or understanding—especially when families are in crisis or even facing homelessness—his response adds more stress rather than support.
There have been clear issues at this branch that appear to stem from poor oversight, yet Dustin avoids accountability and refuses to acknowledge when mistakes are made. Instead of listening with care or considering how staff might be inadequately trained, he seems more interested in defending those he’s personally connected to, rather than ensuring families and children are being properly supported.
His leadership style lacks responsiveness, empathy, and the professionalism expected from someone in a role meant to help and serve the community. It’s concerning how quickly he dismisses concerns, assumes families are exaggerating their situations, and fails to reflect on how his actions—or lack thereof—impact the children and their well-being.
I strongly believe this branch needs reassessment in terms of administrative leadership. Dustin should undergo retraining, and YMCA leadership should take a closer look at how this location is being run. Families in need deserve better—especially when their children’s care is at stake.

The GED teacher is someone who supports trump massively, and puts stuff on the screen, during studying, that involves him. When I had went, he even put Kyle Rittenhouse on screen and acted like he was a great guy who was doing nothing wrong. He can have his own political view, everyone can, but for it to be put on, in class, in an area where we’re mostly hispanic/latino, while we were STUDYING, is questionable to say the least. Do better.
